Chapter 256 - Chapter 255: The Amnesiac Superman

Everyone present—except Batman, Wonder Woman, and Venom—was utterly shocked.

Especially Hal, who swallowed hard.

After all, they had tried every possible method before to destroy the Mother Box, but no matter what they did, they couldn't leave even a single scratch on it.

Yet the man before them just casually crushed it like it was tofu, deforming the Mother Box with his bare hand.

Kino released his grip, and the Mother Box slowly began to repair itself, returning to its original shape.

"Alright, you guys take your time studying it. I'm heading out," Kino said as he tossed the box back onto the table and turned to leave.

"Kino bro, aren't you going to stay with us? This is a world-ending crisis," Barry quickly tried to stop him.

"Barry, I've said it before—I'm not a hero.

And besides, this doesn't even count as a real problem. Just use that thing to revive Superman and you'll have it all solved."

Kino said calmly.

In the original timeline, Superman appeared and resolved everything on his own.

"Superman has amnesia. He's also lost all of his powers," Bruce said quietly.

"He has amnesia?" Kino froze in place.

After that terrifying couple had left earlier—

Hal couldn't hold it in any longer.

"Who… was that guy? He stole my Lantern Ring and even wanted my Green Lantern Battery!"

Aquaman mocked his tone.

"No idea. But you'd better give him what he wants, ordinary human," he said flatly.

"You!" Hal's face turned bright red with anger.

Suddenly, Victor spoke up.

"Real name: Kino. Identity: Shareholder of Wayne Enterprises, the hidden leader of the League of Assassins, and King of Kahndaq."

"Kahndaq? That golden city? Kino bro is its king? Oh my God!" Barry exclaimed.

He was simply too shocked.

In less than a year, that once-poor and underdeveloped country had undergone a complete transformation.

Their wages were three times higher than the outside world. Barry had even done some temporary work there before.

Not to mention, they produced miraculous medicines and high-tech products.

But that wasn't the most surprising part.

Kahndaq's rise hadn't attracted foreign hostility. Instead, all the nations were eagerly cooperating and supporting it.

Hal quietly shut his mouth.

Power was one thing.

But a nation's ruler? That wasn't someone he could afford to mess with.

Sunlight bathed the Kent farm, casting a golden glow over the entire yard.

A handsome man in a short-sleeved shirt was struggling to chop firewood. Before long, he was already out of breath.

"Clark, come have some water,"

Lois approached with a spring in her step, holding a bottle of water.

"Thank you, Lois,"

Clark took the bottle and tilted his head back, gulping it down eagerly. After all that physical labor, he was parched.

"You're welcome. We're husband and wife, remember? Besides, you've just recovered—don't overexert yourself."

Lois spoke gently as she reached out to wipe the sweat from his face. Her eyes were filled with joy and love at having him back.

Clark looked at Lois in front of him, his throat suddenly dry again. He took another sip of water.

"So… we really are a couple?"

Clark asked hesitantly. He had woken up in something like a hospital, only to be dragged through a series of strange tests by a cold-faced man.

Then he was brought here and told that this stunning woman was his lover.

If not for all the photographs of them together, he wouldn't have believed it.

"Yes. If you still doubt it, we can always wait until the baby is born and get a paternity test done."

Lois spoke softly, gently stroking his cheek, unfazed by his skepticism.

In her eyes, even if Clark had lost his memory and superpowers, that might actually be a blessing.

Now, he didn't have to save the world every day. He no longer had to struggle with being torn between Earth and Krypton, or be haunted by the traumas of his past.

"No, I was just surprised… at how someone like me managed to win you over. You're so beautiful, kind, and perfect."

Clark hurried to explain.

"Pfft—hahaha, Clark, I can't believe you'd say something like that."

For the first time, Lois felt like this was the real Clark. The old him had always been so composed.

She wrapped her arms around Clark's neck and gave him a gentle kiss.

"It's a long story. I'll tell you everything slowly."

"Alright."

Clark blushed deeply.

"Hello~ Mind if we join you for a meal?"

A teasing voice interrupted their sweet moment.

Clark looked toward the sound, confused. A man and a woman were standing by the fence.

"Are they old friends of mine?" Clark asked Lois, puzzled.

"No. Ignore them. I'll call someone to have them removed."

Lois shook her head.

"We were sent by Bruce. May we have a word?" Kino said.

At the dinner table.

Clark looked visibly uncomfortable.

He finally asked Kino, who had been staring at him intently,

"Is there something on my face?"

"No."

"Then why do you keep staring at me?"

"I'm just amazed… how such a perfect face even exists. Not a single bad angle."

"Uh… thank you," Clark replied awkwardly.

"Don't be nervous. You may not remember me, but you once helped me through a very dangerous time in my life. I'm here today not only to visit you but to thank you as well."

Kino smiled.

"What kind of person was I before?" Clark asked, curious about his past self.

"A hero. A genuine, selfless hero—"

Bang!

Kino didn't get to finish. Lois slammed a dish down in front of Clark, interrupting him.

"That's enough. Eat your food and leave when you're done,"

Lois said coldly, glaring at Kino. She then sat down beside Clark, her tone making it clear they were no longer welcome.

"No problem, Miss Lane,"

Kino replied with a soft smile.

Scars on a hero might be badges of honor to others—but to the hero's lover, they're just wounds.

Venom also brought food to the table.

"Come to think of it, I usually eat Chinese food. But this Western meal is pretty good too. Clark, you're lucky to have such a good cook for a wife.

Of course, I also have a wife who's a great cook."

Kino complimented sincerely while eating the simple meal.

Clark, putting his doubts aside, began chatting with Kino.

"What's Chinese food like?"

"Oh, you're asking the right guy! Chinese cuisine is an art form—frying, sautéing, roasting, steaming, all sorts of flavors and cooking techniques. The variety is endless…"

Kino got excited, launching into a passionate explanation. His vivid descriptions left Clark wide-eyed and fascinated.

When Kino mentioned that some dishes were so delicious it felt like your clothes might burst from joy, Clark even swallowed a mouthful of saliva.

Lois's expression slowly softened. Watching Clark get "fooled" like this didn't annoy her. In fact, she found this playful deception rather endearing.

Venom understood clearly—Kino was simply excited to meet his idol.

"A forgotten hero is still a hero—because even without his powers, his heart remembers how to protect."
