"Alejandra I asked you to find the rat but I never said you could torture him till the point where he's fighting for his life" Abuela said.
"You need to be more specific next time Abuela" Alejandra replied. "Are you alright? You seem off today" Quin asked. "Never better" Alejandra replied sarcastically.
"Oookay... We need to go to the airport to welcome your father" Quin said. "The old man is back?" Antonio asked from the door.
Quin sighs. "Yes... I just want us to be a happy family" Quin said. "We are a mafia family, happiness is a luxury we can't afford" Alejandra said. "Ouch, you sound like a depressed teenager, sis. What's the problem?" Antonio asked.
"I need to head home. I'll see you all tomorrow". Alejandra left the house.
Three days passed, Sunny still hasn't gotten a job. She got a call from Mariana. "Hey chef... Fancy calling me today"
"Sunny I need your help with something" Mariana sounds panicked on the phone. "What is it? Is everything okay? Are you hurt?" Sunny asked.
"It's Alejandra... She hasn't been to the restaurant for three days... I'm worried about her" Mariana said. "How does any of that have to do with me?" Sunny asked.
"I want you to go to her house... I just want to know if she's alright"
"What?" Sunny asked in surprise. "Please Sunny, I have never asked you for a favour but I'm desperate" Mariana said. "I don't understand, why didn't you call her? You want me to search for her? Where do I start?"
"Sunny I know Alejandra is in her house. I just want you to be sure she's fine. Alejandra has disappeared for weeks in the past but yet she still managed to reply my text but this is different. I have this uneasy feeling" Mariana said.
"I... I... But I .." Sunny couldn't get the words out. "Please... I'll owe you big time for this" Mariana said. Sunny sighs in frustration. "Send me her address and I'll be there in a sec"
Mariana squeals in excitement. Sunny didn't know how or why it happened but she found herself standing Infront of Alejandra's house.
Mariana gave her the password to the house. Sunny entered the house, it was pitch black. She clapped twice, all the lights came on.
A figure dressed in black sat in the kitchen. "Jesus!!" Sunny yells. Alejandra sat like a ghost who has no purpose.
"Chef... Alejandra... You scared the living daylights out of me" Sunny said. Alejandra didn't respond, she placed her head on the counter.
Sunny walked towards Alejandra. "Hey... Are you alright?" Sunny asked but there was no response.
Alejandra looks at Sunny. "What are you doing here?" Alejandra asked in a whisper. "Mariana asked me to come over and check if you are alright" Sunny said.
"Why did you leave Sunny?" Alejandra whispered again. "Have you eaten already?" Sunny asked. "Not hungry... Answer me... Why did you leave me?" Alejandra asked.
Sunny couldn't say a word. Alejandra held Sunny's hands. "You're burning up.. you have a fever Alejandra. Why didn't you say something?"
Alejandra cuddled Sunny's arm. "Don't leave me again.. promise?" Alejandra asked. "I... I need to get you to bed" Sunny said.
Sunny carried Alejandra to her room. Alejandra refused to let go of Sunny's arm. "Alejandra let go... I need to get a bowl of water and a towel" Sunny said.
Sunny noticed Alejandra's cheeks were flushed. "I think you hate me... I can handle it if everyone hates me... But you... God I can't handle it. You left... Without a word... Did you ever stop to think how I felt?"
Sunny sat down beside Alejandra. "I'm sorry" was all Sunny could say. Alejandra stood up abruptly, she looks at Sunny. "What have you done to me?" Alejandra asked.
Sunny exhaled sharply, she had no idea what Alejandra was talking about.
Alejandra pushed Sunny on the bed. "Gosh Alejandra what are you doing?" Sunny asked. Alejandra sat on Sunny's waist. "I know this is all a dream... It will be over when I wake up. Can I just enjoy this before it ends?"
Sunny struggles to break free but Alejandra wouldn't budge. "Can I..... I want to kiss you..... Sunny" Alejandra said. "Your fever, if we don't attend to it Mariana would kill me" Sunny said.
"I am like this... Because of you. You caused this so you must take responsibility" Alejandra said. Alejandra intertwined their fingers together.
She kept looking into Sunny's eyes. "May I..." Alejandra asked in a whisper. "You'll regret it if you wake up.... The same way you regretted the last one... You'll hate me more if you realize the truth"
Alejandra slowly bent down, their lips brushed. That sent electricity through Sunny's brain.
Alejandra slowly kissed Sunny, she had to memorize the taste of her lips. Sunny let's out a low moan, that undid Alejandra's brain.
The kiss deepens, it became rough and messy. Alejandra's hand moved carelessly underneath Sunny's clothes. "Fuck...." Alejandra said as she breaks free.
"Let me get the bowl of water and....." Alejandra didn't let Sunny finish her words. She kissed her again, Sunny didn't know if this was right or wrong. How can she be kissing Alejandra when she has a fever.
"Alejandra.... Stop... Please" Sunny said. Alejandra kissed Sunny on the neck, Sunny held Alejandra's hair as she let's out a gasp. "You are killing me" Alejandra said.
Alejandra kissed Sunny's chest but Sunny quickly came back to her senses. "Alex stop please" Sunny said. Alejandra paused.
Alejandra sat on the bed, she looked like a kicked puppy. "You hate it" She said. Sunny sat up as well. "No... I don't"
"Then why stop me?" Alejandra asked. "Because you are not in your right state of mind. Because you would hate me more in the future because of this"
Alejandra laid down on the bed. "I'll get the water now" Sunny went to the kitchen to get the bowl of water and a towel. When she returned to the room Alejandra was fast asleep.
Sunny took care of Alejandra till the fever subsided. "I wish things didn't end like this. I wish we met under better circumstances" Sunny said.
She texted Mariana about the current situation. Of course she excluded the kissing part. Mariana promised to drop by after work. Sunny touched Alejandra's face.
"You look more beautiful even while napping. I'm sorry for leaving at such a short notice. I'm scared of what might happen in the future..... You deserve to be free, I don't expect you to sacrifice anything for me. I promise to be here whenever you need me" Sunny said.
