As morning broke, Vorrak quickly transformed Thor's DNA into an entry card.
[ Stormborn God(Red)
Description: Enhances strength, durability, and storm control by 10x, wielding divine lightning and unyielding godly might.
Special Ability – Wrath of the Storm King:
Can summon devastating tempests, channeling celestial thunder to overpower foes and dominate battlefields.]
Electricity surged through his entire being, and his eyes sparked with a bright crimson glow. As he summoned both fire and lightning, Vorrak felt as though he had reached a divine level of power.
With the elements in his grasp, he realized his ability to withstand sound had improved significantly.
"This is what it means to be a Stormborn God... I can hardly believe it enhances my strength, resilience, and control over storms tenfold. When it comes to managing the tempest, I should be mightier than the God of Thunder himself," Vorrak murmured, savoring the newfound power coursing through him.
If he were to face Thor right now, sheer strength alone would likely secure his victory. However, he had no intention of engaging in a battle that would provide no benefit to either side.
For Vorrak, any fight would need to involve a worthwhile prize, such as acquiring DNA. That would be the only reason he'd strike.
Unless provoked, of course. While he was focused on establishing his dominance over the universe, he knew he needed to wait until he had attained absolute strength—the kind that could easily overpower even the TOAA.
His mere existence had already altered the timeline, and it was only a matter of time before someone came after him.
Even if the Ancient One attempted to intervene, he could swiftly defeat her with just a flicker of lightning.
That's how potent he had become, though he found himself unsure of his current standing. Yet, his past connections with a select few held him back from outright conquest.
He needed a solid plan—one that could guarantee his success. To achieve that, he had to build up his strength even further.
Today's objective was to obtain the DNA of Odin, as well as Loki and Frigga.
"Now that I possess the strength to go toe-to-toe with formidable beings, I must initiate my plan for universal dominance. The first step is to conquer Asgard.
Only then can I extend my reach throughout the entire universe."
At last, his desire for power would be quenched, as he now had the capability to pursue his ambitions. But he had to be careful not to reveal his intentions too soon, or he risked becoming a target himself.
He went to great lengths to conceal his true identity from everyone he encountered, from the Ancient One to Laussa. It was only through a carefully constructed facade that he could truly develop in private, even if it meant progressing slowly.
Today's objective was to quietly gather all the influential figures of Asgard. Stepping out of his room, Vorrak offered a subtle smile to those he passed by.
As a visitor in Asgard, he was well-versed in the etiquette he needed to observe. Coupled with the insights he had gained from each person he connected with, navigating this environment felt effortless for him.
Walking down the expansive hallway, Vorrak sensed that he was getting closer to his goal. A broad smile spread across his face, sending chills down the spines of those who caught a glimpse of him.
Completely oblivious to his surroundings, he continued his walk until he exited the Palace and was greeted by the festive atmosphere buzzing around the Asgardians.
Sure, he could subjugate them by force, but doing so would waste valuable DNA, something he wanted to avoid.
Instead, he decided to distribute fragments of himself subtly, allowing them to spread influence and sow corruption among the people.
Without a second thought, he sent a part of himself racing toward one unsuspecting Asgardian citizen.
She didn't even realize what was happening until a dark, viscous substance slipped into her mouth. Her eyes widened in horror and panic as she tried to shake it off, attempting to scream but finding that the black slime muffled any sound.
While the Asgardians were physically strong compared to humans, it didn't mean they all possessed magical abilities.
They may have had robust physiques and advanced technology, but that was about it.
In mere seconds, the fragment of Vorrak fully merged with her, gaining control over her mind. No one noticed anything unusual, as the scene was relatively private.
Without delay, Vorrak directed the woman to mingle with the Asgardians and join in the festivities as per his instructions.
With that taken care of, Vorrak wandered through Asgard, only returning around noon when he was summoned by Odin himself.
"Your Highness, Odin." Vorrak bowed respectfully to Odin, as any guest would when meeting the ruler of the realm.
"How did you sleep, Vorrak? Were you comfortable?" Odin, the King and All-father of Asgard, asked.
Odin wanted to ensure his visitor had a pleasant stay, and Vorrak nodded in response. However, he seemed restless, suggesting he had something on his mind.
"You seem to have questions... Please, go ahead, Vorrak," Odin encouraged, picking up on the cue.
"Well, it's like this... I was hoping to spar with you, if that's alright. Although I lost to Thor, I'd like the chance to challenge the All-father himself and see where I stand," Vorrak stated, his tone earnest, prompting Odin to consider the request seriously.
"Hmmm... I'm open to it, but would you prefer to do this in private or in public?" Odin was amused; it had been a long time since someone had so boldly challenged him to a spar.
"I'm fine with either option; there's nothing to lose, Your Highness," Vorrak replied politely, careful not to offend.
Odin nodded and led Vorrak to the private training grounds reserved for the royal family. This area was made of special materials capable of withstanding magical forces like Thor's mighty thunder and hammer.
Odin summoned his spear, Gungnir, the ultimate weapon of Asgard, symbolizing great power and authority. Crafted from a unique Asgardian metal and charged with energy akin to that of the Destroyer, it could unleash powerful blasts and manipulate magical forces. Gungnir was also capable of opening the Bifrost and guiding the Destroyer over vast distances, ensuring that its bearer was recognized as the ruler of Asgard; its commands were obeyed without question.
Gungnir drew on the strength of all Asgardians, making it a force to be reckoned with, on par with Thor's Mjolnir. As Vorrak gazed at the spear, he understood that Odin was treating this spar with the seriousness it deserved, recognizing both his own raw strength and his ability to withstand Odin's power—likely even the Odinforce.
Vorrak unsheathed his sword, Crimson Omen. This cursed blade, glowing with a crimson hue and marked with vein-like fissures, emanated a dark energy. The hilt was adorned with dynamic runes, a jagged crossguard, and a deep red gemstone, all wrapped in dark leather. It radiated an aura of power and malevolence, drawing those who wielded it toward madness—except for Vorrak.
As the sword came into view, Odin's demeanor shifted; he could sense the sword's dark energy and instinctively tightened his grip on Gungnir.
"What's the name of that sword?"
Odin inquired, fixated on the Crimson Omen.
"Crimson Omen," Vorrak replied. "It's forged from the heart of a dying star and infused with the blood of the damned, which gives it this malevolent aura."
As they exchanged glances at each other's weapons, it was clear that the battle had already begun without a word being spoken.
In a sudden moment, when Vorrak hesitated, Odin seized the opportunity and hurled Gungnir at him. Vorrak quickly parried the attack, showcasing his impressive strength, which had recently increased tenfold.
This displayed the effectiveness of his training—his performance against Odin was markedly different from his fight with Thor, bringing attention to the newfound strength that Vorrak was now demonstrating.
This highlights Vorrak's heavy dependence on his talent entry system and how effectively he utilizes its true purpose.
He doesn't concern himself with who developed the system or the potential consequences for him, as he understands not to question everything. His primary focus is to maximize its potential instead of just limiting himself to acquiring the DNA of average individuals.
After deflecting Gungnir, Vorrak charged directly at Odin and delivered a powerful strike, only to have it intercepted by the returning Gungnir, which he blocked. Sparks flew in all directions as Odin donned his battle armor and took a decisive step forward, sweeping his Gungnir towards Vorrak, who skillfully evaded the attack.
Odin continued his relentless assault while Vorrak could do little but defend himself. However, thanks to his enhanced reflexes and vision, he was able to foresee Odin's next moves, allowing him to dodge and block effectively. He also took the opportunity to carefully study each of Odin's actions without missing anything.
By closely observing Odin's fighting style, Vorrak could sense the power, experience, and wisdom Odin possessed in battle. He couldn't help but admire what he was witnessing, absorbing everything he could to adapt Odin's techniques into his own approach.
Odin sensed a shift in the battle's rhythm, realizing that Vorrak was keenly focused on learning and drawing inspiration from his skills. This realization filled Odin with both admiration and trepidation.
He admired Vorrak's cleverness and talent in trying to replicate his fighting methods, but he was also fearful because Vorrak was learning rapidly in the midst of the fight. This could only spell trouble for anyone facing such a formidable opponent capable of adapting quickly while in battle.
