Her baby came into this world screaming and loud. So loud that she laughed. The first person to hold her son was Ivana Stone. Not her. Not Malachai. Ivy. The woman wanted everything she always had. Chloe didn't know what to feel about that. About anything as she kept bleeding out.
She wanted her baby. "Give him here," she croaked, sweat clinging to her like a second skin. She panted, the birth taking a toll on her entire body. "My baby, give him here." But Ivy stared at the baby utterly fixated by what she saw. She wanted to see him too.
Daenys tried to take the baby from Ivy, but she dropped a neutralising transmitter on the floor. It neutralised all their powers. The witch gasped. "What are you doing? The queen wants her baby!"
But Ivy's face hardened, "You know I can't do that, Chloe. That was the deal. I hand him to you, and it's over."
