I continued to watch them from a close distance, listening to them banter. My real goal was to wait until the next shipment arrived, the one they said was 'important'.
Suddenly, a number of footsteps came running over.
"Boss, the man is still here. His car is still in the parking lot, but we couldn't find him during our sweep."
Karl frowned. His eyes squinted as he looked around.
"Quickly, do a thorough sweep of the area. Something is telling me this man is snooping around here," he ordered as he looked around the area.
Shit. They're going to find me if they look over here.
I was impressed with Karl's instincts. It was no wonder that he's been able to escape from so many rounds of prosecution; his innate instincts to detect danger were too good.
"Yes, sir!" The armed men shouted before scattering once more.
Observing their movements, I waited until one of the men came my way to sweep through the boxes before darting behind another box.
