This incident took place during Hazrat umar's era. Once there was fire in the town. The fire was so terrifying that a large part of the town was burnt. The fire did not extinguish even after spraying water.
At last, people lost all hope and some of them came to the king and told him that they were unable to stop the fire.
Umar said, "The fire is the sign of Allah's anger. This fire is caused by your misery so stop pouring water and donate chapattis."
The people said, "we have already opened the benefaction house and we treated all the guests politely."
Hazrat Umar said, "you are not donating with a pure heart. You want that you must get respect and praises in exchange of your donation. Those who donate to show off have no value."
