Kairos swam past Hai Zhong again without turning back
"Just like I said. You're the king and you have so many responsibilities. I would be a sinner for helping you evade those responsibilities."
Hai Zhong rolled his eyes
"Why are you still holding a grudge?"
Kairos blinked
"I have no idea what you're talking about. I am just doing my part as a good brother and qualified prince"
It was the exact tone that made Hai Zhong want to throw something at him. Sarcastic. Knowing. The kind of voice Kairos used when he wanted to say more without actually saying it.
Hai Zhong rolled his eyes. "You sound like you're choking on your own virtue."
Kairos didn't answer, just flicked his tail lazily and pretended to be focused on the coral wall beside them.
Hai Zhong was about to retort when a soft cough sounded from behind him. They both turned around and came face to face with the old sage.
