Chapter 144 - ETERNAL GARDEN

She continued, "So, we will pay them after they confirm the price. And then they will transfer its documents and right to us. Don't forget the first payment is for a year; in the successive years, we will have to pay an amount that account for inflation to renew our ownership yearly."

"That's actually tough..." Stretching his hand over his head, Skylar concluded. "I think I may get along well with the tower. I like there business model—detailed and efficient. Well... I am only judging from the little I know about them; l will see what more they have in store in the future..."

"Hee-hee-hee. You are right." Giggling, Yami chimed in. "You share a lot more in common with them... they are brutally honest and extremely rational too."

"Yeah, I forgot, the speed limit thing, very important." Skylar sounded urgent. Then in his mind he linked with Goldie.

Skylar: "Goldie."

Goldie: "What's it? I am eating."

Skylar: "Oh! Nothing. I just want to tell you about the safe zone speed limit at ground level and in the lower sky..."

Goldie: "I know. Just below the speed of sound?"

Skylar: "Tch, since when?"

Goldie: "Yesterday. That your woman with big forehead told me."

Skylar: "I see. Carry on with your banquet. Wait, you know the lower sky range?"

Goldie: "Yes... Ground level to ten thousand yoda—ten thousand kilometers. They've told me. They said they increase by a factor of ten."

Skylar: "Okay... Later."

Goldie: "Later."

Skylar suspended the telepathic link between him and Goldie, and he returned his focus to Yami who has been looking focused at his green iris.

He blinked his eyes. "What is it?"

"Nothing." Replying, Yami broke into a bright smile. "I was only thinking... never mind."

"Whatever." Skylar scoffed. Then he picked the tablet on her lap. He continued, "So, after land are trivials like, mission statement and recruitment requirements?"

"Yes, do you have something in mind?" Yami replied. " You said you were working on a system?"

To her question, Skylar did not reply right away but instead busy himself with the tablet he has brought close to his face; he continued to whisper to it, and it automatically display the content of his whisper.

After a while—a period of time during which Yami watch the sun-lit view of mini-ships cruisung above buildings beyond their territory through the chameleon glass wall that has been adjusted totally transparent—Skylar quit his whispering and offered her the tablet.

"Here take a look."

"Okay." Yami collected the tablet. She focused on the contents on its display that Skylar just input, and she starts going through them.

"People will think you are trying to create a religious cult." Yami commented as she quit looking at the tablet; she raised her head and met Skylar's eyes.

Skylar smiled. "What's wrong with a religious cult? I used to belong to one in the real world."

"A philosophical one, right?" Yami smiled, mirroring his smile.

Responding, Skylar smiled brighter. "How do you know that?"

"I guessed."

"You are wrong. Its not that deep." Skylar grinned. "Its just a group of rich, nerdy bald men that are obsessed with knowledge and wisdom."

"But why all this? This look serious." Yami said, looking at the content on tablet.

Before replying, Skylar repositioned on the chair, sitting more upright alongside Yami on his laps.

He took a brief respite, then faintly exhaling, he replied, "I have thought about some things recently. I want to take this serious—"

"You're saying you want to put your heart into it." Yami interjected, sounding curt and surprised with a shocked look on her face.

"Mm-mm." Skylar nodded faintly. "It shouldn't be that annoying—"

Before he concluded and before he knew it, Yami suddenly plugged his lips with hers; she passionately kissed him deeply with him subtly and clumsily responding—fiercly sucking his lips and tongue, making a wet sloppy sound, while she also pressed and rubbed her very large chest vigorously against his.

A moment later, she parted from him with a string of drool connecting their lips.

Smiling and giggling like a fool, she rapidly rose from his laps and went behind him after which her presence vanished completely from the room like she was never there.

Skylar, on the other hand, sulk simewhat—looking quiet displeased, not definitely by the kiss, but maybe by her abrupt disappearance.

As he quit sulking, he looked to his right at the chameleon glass wall, and he saw the view outside getting darker from thick rain clouds gathering in the sky, obscuring the sun rays.

"Its going to rain." He muttered. Then he quit looking at the wall and leaned his head back on the tall backrest of the chair, and as he raise it, the chameleon glass ceiling that is displaying a vivid live image of the cosmos, and switched-off floating lamps under it, came into view.

For the next couple minutes, he spaced out until Yami's presence returned to the room. And coming from behind him, Yami came into his sight and returned to sit comfortably on his laps.

"Sky, what's the faction name?" Yami asked him, continuing their previous conversation, not minding the forced displeased look on Skylar's face.

After a while, done with the expression on his face that convey his annoyance, he replied strangely solemly and deliberate:

"Eternal Garden."

However just as he did—his voice sounding deeper and way clearer—the super loud rumble of thunder outside followed instantly, scaring them and almost rupturing their eardrums. And at the same time, the lights in the room all went out, and they were plunged into darkness until blue lights from the floating lamps that are now descending downwards came on—managing to illuminate them.

"Did you do that?" Yami lifted her head buried in Skylar's chest, matching gaze with him.

"Do I look like I am capable of that?" Skylar scoffed.

"I guess yes." Yami replied, nodding rapidly like a hen.

Skylar shook his head, "Idiot, I mean; I'm not stupid enough to cause trouble inside the safe zone?"

"Why not. Hee-hee-hee..." Yami giggled away.

"Okay, let's finalize things... I want to go and sleep." Skylar called Yami's attention back to their original conversation. Meanwhile, the lights in the room that went out came back on, and the view of the chameleon glass wall to his right side, showed it is raining heavily outside that the rain drops hitting the floor of the balcony are splashing on the wall from outside like they want to enter.

Skylar continued, "So, the next thing is the quarterly report. What's that deposit thing about?"

"Its just as it is described. We will be depositing half of our quarterly net profit to an account under the management of the tower. Only the tower can access it—we won't be able to access it." Yami replied.

"Oh!" Skylar's eyes widened in realization. "Is it like tax?"

"No, tax is separate, its paid to the tower separately. This is our total net profit every quarter year—"

"So, half of it every quarter year?" Skylar interjected, and answering, Yami nodded.

"What are they collecting it for?" He asked further.

Yami answered, "They say its for emergency and to prevent bankruptcy. Its not like the money wont belong to us anymore... they are just keeping it for us... If an emergency situation where we need it arise, we can go to them and borrow some of it."

"Borrow? Our money..." Amused, Skylar showed a surprised look with a mixture of puzzlement.

"Yes. That's how they do it." Yami smiled after nodding. She continued. "And if at one point, a faction dissolves, the tower will claim all their deposit. Even in the case of absorption, a faction will still be forfeiting thier deposit..."

"Wow! That's fucking smart. What a way to make easy money. I am worshipping the tower from now on, they are my new idol."

"Hee-hee-hee." Yami giggled at Skylar's comment, founding it hilarious. Coming down from his laps and turning to the content on the table—the food container and plates—she starts cleaning them up, returning them to the glass box.

Similarly, standing up from the chair, Skylar continued, "So what about those promotion quest things?"

He starts moving towards the very large white canopy bed with simple andorments positioned as behind the chair.

And at the same time Yami replied: "Its simple. We choose quests at random, and if we don't like the quest we chose, we have two more chances to pick new ones for one promotion quest... we will just try our luck again."

"Actually, the one we chose before will no longer count... its like we are gambling—we can't use our three chances and say we want to pick the best from the..."

"I get it." Skylar interjected, projecting his voice from the top of the large bed towards Yami as he is already on it. "Once you chose a new quest, the previous one is automatically forfeited?"

"Yes. After that, we will just complete it and submit the proof of completion to the tower. They will verify it. And next, they will process our promotion and notify our rep when they are done." Yami concluded, and at the same time, fnishing her task of repacking the box, she turned around and dashed towards the bed like she is late for it.

As for Skylar, watching her climb on the bed towards him, looking particularly at the outline of her very large breast hanging freely, but sheltered by her top, he resumed. "So, what are the quest like? Are they in the safe zones?"

"No. They are all limited to the wild. And because they are random, depending on luck, a faction might get a very easy one or a very difficult one."

Yami paused as she got closer to Skylar.

Lying face down on his chest, she resumed, "The one we did to get to rank two some months ago was very difficult. We were tasked with retrieving something from a black zone... And it was until Alexa and pretty joined that Bilkis and the rest were able to complete it."

Those two are kind of really strong, but I am sure Ila is stronger and this bitch is the strongest... She might even be a lot stronger than me...

Skylar mused in his mind then his unfocused eyes shifted downward, catching Yami's straight pitch-black hair.

He resumed, "So, why register as an official faction?"

"Benefits and rights." Yami replied. "Like safe bases for example, non-official faction can't have a safe base... inside the safe zones, they are just scattered and disorganized. And because they are not mainstream—they can't register their players with the tower—its very easy to poach their player and gobble them up. They just can't compete with official factions..."

"I understand now." Sounding like he had an epiphany, Skylar smiled.

"What do you understand?" Requesting, Yami crawled up on his chest—moving closer to his face. Then she positioned her face fittingly close to his, staring straight at his bright eyes, an inch close.

"Its a secret." Replying, Skylar grinned smugly, making Yami pause expressionlessly. Then all of a sudden—doing like she was angered—Yami plugged Skylar's lips with hers and starts engaging him a passionate, deep and wet kiss that is fiercer and more intense than earlier. And Skylar undernearh her fleshy weight, looked like he might run out of air as he passively respond with his hands wrapped around her.
