Lady Eleanor stood at the edge of a wide platform overlooking the city's flowing architecture, still absorbing the sight of Shadow Lanterns flying overhead. Their violet glow reflected gently across her eyes.

Raven watched her quietly, giving her time to take it all in.

Then a presence approached.

A tall figure descended from the sky in a controlled glide, boots touching the platform without a sound. His armor was elegant, wrapped in dark shadows with lines of violet energy tracing his frame. A familiar stern expression sat upon his face, regal even in silence.

Shadow Sinestro.

He lowered his head respectfully.

"Welcome," he said, voice resonant, "to the Queen… and to the mother of our King."

He bowed.

Arthur's mother blinked, startled.

"The… queen?" she repeated, glancing at Raven. "And king's mother?"

Raven sighed softly, already anticipating the reaction.

"Don't mind it," she murmured, a faint flush touching her cheeks. "They… take titles seriously."

Sinestro straightened, respectfully.

"Titles reflect truth," he said simply.

Raven chose not to argue.

Instead, she turned toward him, her tone shifting to business.

"Sinestro," she said quietly, "make sure she is well protected and cared for while she's here."

Sinestro placed a hand over his chest.

"I would do so without the order, my Queen."

Eleanor glanced between them again.

Raven turned to her gently.

"You can stay here for a while," Raven said. "Nyx is safe. The Shadow Lanterns will protect you with their lives if anything foolish tries to attack this place."

Arthur's mother hesitated only briefly before nodding.

"Thank you… I'll stay."

Her expression softened, though worry still lingered in her eyes.

"What about.."

Raven lifted a hand gently, already knowing the question.

"Adam and George," she said quietly. "I know."

Her gaze hardened slightly.

"If those demons came after you, then the reason is clearly Arthur. Which means they could go after them too… or anyone close to him."

Eleanor's shoulders tensed.

Raven stepped closer, her voice calm but firm.

"I'll find out why this happened. And don't worry, I'll go back and protect them as well."

She paused, considering.

"If the situation gets worse… I'll bring them here too. Nyx can protect them better than Earth right now."

Arthur's mother let out a slow breath, some of the tension easing from her expression.

"Alright," she said softly. "Thank you, Raven. Really."

Raven's expression softened into a faint, sincere smile.

"You don't need to thank me, this is all possible thanks to Arthur."

Sinestro stepped slightly aside, already signaling nearby Shadow Lanterns who adjusted their patrol routes subtly around the platform.

Eleanor noticed and smiled faintly.

"They're very serious, aren't they?"

Raven glanced at the city below.

"They are."

A moment of quiet passed between them.

Then Raven stepped back, a portal already forming next to her.

"I'll be back soon," she promised.

Eleanor nodded.

"Be careful Raven."

Raven offered one last reassuring nod, then vanished in a soft pulse of violet light.

Sinestro remained nearby, his head lowered, standing like a silent guardian.

Eleanor looked out over the city again.

This time, the awe felt less overwhelming.

GOTHAM - ARTHUR'S ESTATE

The estate was quiet when Raven returned, too quiet. She stepped through a ripple of violet shadow into the main hallway, cloak settling around her as she looked around quickly, senses stretching outward for any trace of hostile magic or presence.

"George?" she called, her voice sharper than usual.

The sound of polished shoes against marble answered her. George appeared from the adjoining corridor.

He stopped when he saw her expression.

"Miss Raven," he greeted smoothly. "You returned? Did you forget something?"

Raven stepped closer, eyes scanning him quickly.

"Did anything happen here?" she asked immediately. "Anything strange? Any disturbances?"

George blinked once, then shook his head.

"Everything has been perfectly calm since you departed," he replied. "No unwelcome guests. No anomalies. Merely a quiet afternoon."

He tilted his head slightly.

"Did something occur during your visit?"

Raven exhaled slowly, some of the tension leaving her shoulders.

"Don't worry, mo.."

She stopped abruptly.

A faint flush touched her cheeks before she corrected herself.

"Miss Blackwynd is fine."

George's lips twitched ever so slightly, but he said nothing.

Raven continued, more serious now.

"We were attacked. By Demons from hell."

She frowned as she said it aloud.

"I know it sounds… awkward. But that's what they were."

George's expression remained composed, almost unsurprised.

"I see," he said thoughtfully. "Another afternoon for us."

He offered her a gentle smile.

"I assume your concern is that they may attempt the same here."

Raven nodded.

"Exactly."

She relaxed a fraction.

"At least miss Blackwynd is safe now. I took her to Nyx. No one will reach her there."

George inclined his head approvingly.

"A wise decision."

Raven glanced toward the window.

"There's still you left… and Arthur's big brother. Adam."

George set the tray down carefully.

"Master Adam should currently be at the Blackwynd Tower in Jump City," he said. "His office, if memory serves."

Raven's expression tightened again.

"I need to check on him."

Her voice lowered.

"Arthur would unleash chaos if anything happens to them."

George folded his hands behind his back.

"The lengths we go to protect those we hold dear," he said softly, almost philosophically.

Raven nodded absently… then paused.

Her eyes narrowed, realization hit her as she connected the dots.

"Hold on."

She turned back toward him.

"George."

He looked at her expectantly.

"Hm?"

Raven crossed her arms.

"You don't happen to know where Arthur is right now… do you?"

George answered without hesitation.

"Hell."

Raven blinked.

"So you knew all along..."

His expression remained perfectly calm.

"I do not possess direct knowledge," he clarified politely. "However, it is a reasonable conclusion."

He gestured lightly with one hand.

"Demons from Hell attacking his family. Your inability to sense him nearby. And his recent association with Mr. Constantine."

Raven stared at him for a moment… then facepalmed.

"Of course it's Constantine..." she muttered. "I knew he'd drag Arthur into something insane, sooner or later."

She let her hand fall, crossing her arms again.

"Why didn't he tell me…"

Her voice carried a hint of hurt beneath the frustration.

George's tone softened.

"I suspect it has something to do with your recovery," he said gently. "You were exhausted. And… given your bloodline…"

Raven sighed.

"I know," she said quietly. "I understand the concern."

She looked away.

"I'm just venting."

George nodded once.

"A perfectly acceptable habit."

He straightened slightly.

"I shall relocate to the underground base for precautionary measures. There is also Blade and Dexter with his new shadow ring along with several shadow demons stationed here. I will be quite safe."

Raven studied him for a moment, then smiled faintly.

"You're handling this way too calmly."

George allowed himself a small, refined chuckle.

"When one works for Master Arthur, Miss Raven… one develops a certain tolerance for the absurd."

That earned an actual laugh from her.

She stepped back.

"Alright then, George." she said. "Stay safe."

George bowed his head slightly.

"As always."

Raven's expression sharpened again.

"I'll go check on Adam."

With a pulse of violet light, she vanished.

The hallway fell quiet once more.

George adjusted his cuffs, glancing toward the windows as distant thunder rolled across the sky.

He stood for a moment, then he exhaled softly.

"Very well," he murmured to himself. "Precaution is the better part of continued existence."

He turned toward the grand staircase and called out, his voice smooth and refined.

"Dexter."

Silence.

Then, from somewhere unseen, came the soft patter of paws.

A black cat emerged from behind a sofa as though he had been there all along, tail raised with unmistakable confidence. Dexter paused, looking up at George with steady eyes.

George inclined his head slightly.

"Ah. There you are."

Dexter let out a short, unimpressed meow.

George smiled faintly.

"Yes, yes. I am aware I interrupted your nap."

He gestured elegantly toward a side corridor where a concealed entrance lay behind a paneled wall.

"Follow me now, if you please. We are heading underground."

Dexter blinked once, then stretched luxuriously, taking his time as though considering whether the request merited cooperation.

Finally, he trotted forward, brushing against George's leg as he passed.

George sighed quietly.

"I shall interpret that as agreement."

George pressed a hidden mechanism in the wall. Stone shifted silently, revealing a descending staircase illuminated by faint violet lights.

He paused at the top, looking down.

"One cannot be too careful these days," he remarked thoughtfully. "Demons from Hell attacking... I wonder what Master Arthur is doing there.."

Dexter flicked his tail.

George glanced down at him, eyes narrowing in playful suspicion.

"Tell me, Dexter," he said conversationally as they descended, "do you perchance remember how to fight?"

The cat stopped mid-step and looked up at him with an expression that seemed insulted by the implication.

George lifted a brow.

"Yes, I thought so."

He chuckled softly.

"You know what? Don't answer."

Dexter gave a tiny chirp that sounded suspiciously smug and continued walking ahead, tail swaying.
