"Cold..."
That's what first came to evans mind after first waking up, it was the first time in awhile where he only thought about simple things and nothing else.
These simple thought quickly dissapearing however and turning into complex thoughts as he remembers the night at the city and what happened, he jolts up from where he's laying
Evan: "WAIT HOLD O-"
Then another yelling voice inturrupts his
???: "WOAH CALM DOWN MAN!, You scared me to death!"
Evan, paying attention to the man and his surroundings realizes where he is
Evan: "You guys locked me up!?!?, I didn't even do anything!!"
Guard: "Hey look man!, it wasn't my call!, im just a guard!, You better calm down don't make me use my key on you ok!?"
Evan: "Key on me?, What is he talking about?, is he threatning me by...opening my jailcell?"
As quickly as the thought entered is as quickly as it dissapeared due to something more important crossing evans mind
Evan: "Hey look!"
Guard: "don't you Hey look m-"
Evan: "What happened at the City!?, you have to believe me!, I saw people getting killed!"
Continueing his story, Evan could feel how the Guard grew more and more uninterested
As the words leave Evans mouth more and more, even he started to not believe What he's saying, I mean of course with everything that happend today it's not out of the question that he just hallucinated the whole thing...
But there was one thing...
The insane showcase of Some kind of crazy Voodoo Magic almost that he saw at the City, he was still curious no matter if it was real, Evan wanted to know
Evan "Hey!... the guy I saw at the city that was Hurting people, I think he had some kind of tech Enhancer suit thingy that made him float and control lightning!"
This was Even more absurd then his previous story, a man floating?, controling lighting?, he expected the guard to completely think he's crazy now, however to Evans surprise, the guard answered quickly like he was sure of something
Guard: " You really lie about everything huh? First this supposed massacre, now lighting powers?, I mean be foreal, every one knows that any type of Electricity powers haven't been around in key abilities for hundreds of years!"
Evan: "Key...Abilties?"
Evan has never heard this term before and yet the guard said it with such confidence, like he would understand it's meaning easily, but no, to him it felt like a Culture thing Maybe, but he had to know as this Was something that he felt like he just needed to know
Evan: " What are key ab-"
Officer 1: " Allright Mr Knee! Time for you to come with us!"
The Cell doors open as the two officers approach Evan
Officer 2: "you know, for your age Mr knee, you look pretty good! Im surprised!"
As the one officer bickered him while making bad dad Jokes about what kind of skin Routine he has, Evan dreaded what the two officers would want from him, he's always been on the good side of the law and just thinking about what his parents might think...
Evan: " look!, I dont know what you want from m-"
Officer 1: "We need to talk"
Getting cutoff from the one officer who seemed more like the serious type stopped Evan right on his track as Evan could sense the suspicious eyes lingering on him
Officer 1: "while doing some backround checks on you, we came across a few complications, we need you to come with us into the interegation room"
The Tone from the no nonsense cop shook Evan, he thought if he just did as the Officers wanted, maybe he would have it easier, he agreed to go with them
On the way to the interegation room, the first officer breaks the silence, but not for conversation
Officer 1: "don't forget, if you use your key ability on police grounds, it will be added to your charges as unlawful usage of key abilities"
Another mention of that Word, and the sentence containing it Evan understood even less, but before he could ponder more about it, they arrive at the interegation room
As everyone sits down, the second officer tells Evan something he didn't wanna hear
Officer: "oh and btw we called your little family, they will come here soon for you!"
Oh great, Evan thought, just what he wanted to hear, as if this all can't get wors-
Officer 1: " Just who are you?"
The officer suddenly interjects in a manner Evan wouldn't expect from a cop, it didn't feel authoritative, more so perplexed
Evan: " I...uhh, What?"
Officer : "you don't Match the look on your id, you are missing certain Features, and you look and sound younger..."
Evan: "..."
Officers: "we checked if you have a twin or brother but nothing, but still, we Scanned your fingerprints and face and it was a Match for Evan knee
Evan could only stay Silent as the room filled with the same silence, What the officer was saying didn't make sense to Evan, even the cocky second officer Was Silent and had nothing to say
However Evan refocused on the first officers face as the Man looked at Evan with almost a terrified look
Officer 1: " the Man our System claims you to be, 32 year old Evan knee is right now in this moment
dead at the nearest hospital..."
Dead?...
Evan: "(What is he talking about? im obviously alive...)
But Evan has never seen such conviction in a man, it's almost like he was starting to believe him
Officer 1: " so tell me, who. Are. You?.
Evan didn't know how to answer this, but one thing jumped out to him
Evan: "(32 years old?)
Evan: " im 19 years old!, not 32!, You must have the wrong guy!"
The officer with more conviction than ever looked at Evan to ask him one more question, to almost confirm something...
Officer 1 : "Mr knee, do you know what a key ability is?"
Again with that, but right now is the perfect moment to ask
Evan: " yeah that!, What is that!?, the guard kept talking about it but what is it!?"
The officer didn't respond but acknowledged Evans response through his expression changing to disbelief, and then back to normal as he gets a notice from the guard
Guard: " Hey Boss you wanted me tell you when they are here, so yeah..."
Officer 1: "Mr knee, your family will take it from here"
Evan: "my...family?"
Evan fully expects to see two things, the worried look and immediate scolding of his mother, then the Silent disaproval from his father
He turns around anticipating two Figures...
But instead sees 3
A woman in her 30s, not his mother however, she seemed famillar to Evan for whatever reason
And then 2 kids on Her right, who look like they could be around his age
Evan: " What the heck?, who are these people? These aren't my family..."
Evan takes a look at them again, a proper look, with this proper look something takes him aback
Tears?
They are crying at his Sight, like they are relieved to see someone safe and Sound they love, someone dear to them
The woman speaks
???: " E-evan *sniffle* is it r-really y-you?"
The children Follow
???: " d-dad w-we t-thought *sniffle* y- you y-you were..."
???: "y-you're r-really..."
Evan, at the Sight of people crying at him and knowing his name, first thinking they are crazy quickly turned to confusion
Evan: "who are you people?..."
The first officer stands up and stands between Evan and the "family", and says something that will stay with Evan forever
Officer 1: they are your family...from another world"
