"who the fuck came up with that shit!" Cain dodges Serena's slash again by stopping it with a throwing dagger, as he keeps running through the forest, trying to use any trap he had set up till now
'but she's to big of a damn monster! how can a damn 17 year old girl be so strong..'
as he activates another trap, meant to send poison laced arrows at her, she slashes each and every arrow with perfect precision, moving at incredible speeds
"god damnit! haah.. haah.. I'm built for stealth damnit not this shit for fucks sake!"
"than your simply flawed, a perfect being must be ready for any situation"
"that's another thing! what's your damn obsession with being perfect!? its honestly kinda scary.."

using the rocks to his advantage, Cain glides from rock to rock, occasionally creating distractions to get closer to the archer, and by diverting her gaze with a throwing knife,
Cain hides in a rock behind the black haired archer, and just as he gets out to kill her, she turns around with a grin, arrow piercing his skull as she says
"got you~"
now there's only three.. two left, since Serena had already killed Eric
"you dare think you can beat me in a head on fight..?"
she mutters to his cold, now dead body, as she faces the archer, Camelia, with a cold. piercing gaze, instantly appearing before her and cutting her head clean off with her long sword
"i win, as expected." being teleported to the center of the coliseum besides Sophia, hearing the crowd cheer
"THE STRONGEST FIRST YEAR!"
"WOOOOOOOOOOH!"
"SHES PERFECT!"
"wow! how popular you are Serena! do you have anything you wish to say to not only our dear audience, but to all the other students who are watching us?"
"victory was an obvious outcome."
"hmm.. well, i cant really say who.. but if you fought a certain new student to the death.. your odds in losing would be higher than winning."
suddenly, everything goes quiet, only soft murmurs going through the crowd
"it has to be a noble then right?"
"its the prince! i tell you its the prince!"

and then everything goes quiet, nobody talking, Serena's body goes cold, her eyes filled with killing intent "what did you say?"
"sorry hun! i cant tell you who it is.. but he will be in the elite class that's for sure! so have fun looking~"
"now everyone! that concludes todays academy entrance exam! any students in the stands please go to the reception room where everyone will be teleported to the academy!"

Asher thinks grimly, knowing full well she specifically said to the death, and his ability can only be unleashed when he is fully intent on killing someone, since he cant do any soul damage in a normal fight, unless he wants to kill his opponent on accident

"alright Emily, that's my que, ill see you later at the academy then, you told me you were a librarian then right? ill be coming often."
"okay Asher i look forward to talking to you more!" Emily says with a smile, as Asher leaves into the distance
on his way there.. he somehow finds himself in an empty hall. alone with Serena beside him, who's aura is still chilling because of Serena's words
"don't pay any attention to what Sophia says, she just likes to tease alot."
"and who are you? and how do you know that about her."
"I'm Asher, a blessing student, i didn't take the exam, but i was tested privately by Sophia to determine my rank, i got to know her a bit and i have been talking to her a little in the past week, waiting for the exam to start."
"ah, what rank do you think you will be?"
"well.. probably around the mid ranks of elite class, but ill be around top five in terms of power, since my ability is more powerful than it sounds, the academy will probably place me in a rank lower than i actually am."
"oh? what's your power then?"
"well.. i can control mirrors and reflections, like this."
Asher says with a mischievous smile, grabbing her hand and pulling her into a mirror with him, making them appear in the gathering area, causing Serena to let out a cute yelp in surprise, after which her face turns face from embarrassment
"what was that idiot!"
"pfft.. ah, sorry sorry, my bad. but were here now right? no need for all the walking."
"tsk.. i guess your right.."
"you really do have mod swings, your totally different than when you were in the exam."
"well.. i do tend to go a bit overboard."
"hi! aren't you the guy from the reception hall? ah! and Serena! your so strong!"
Eric pops out of nowhere, as energetic as ever, Sylvia, his childhood friend, by his side
'too troublesome' Asher leaves, having no patience for troublesome people, already that the back, earbuds on, glasses worn, book in hand
"awe bummer.. and now that i think about it.. where the heck did he pull that book out from??" Eric says
"and i have mood swings.." Serena mutters under her breath
"ah.. he seems fun.. oh and Serena! i have to ask! how the hell do you keep your skin that damn glossy?!" Sylvia finally says
"um.. i guess my family's hot spring..? it has some healing property's.. and i would go there every day after training.."
"that doesn't matter! what matters is how cool you were! your sword went like this and that! then it went swoosh like this! you were soo sick!" Eric exclaims with exaggerated movements

"hmm? not oneee bit! aslong as i enjoy the fight, it doesn't matter weather i win or lose!"
"is he.. always this energetic?" Serena asks Sylvia, to which she replies
"yeaaah..."
"alright everyone! quiet down! I'm Sophia, professor of the elite class! please stay seated as you will now be teleported to the academy, more specifically the auditorium, where we will have a speech from the headmistress and then a ball so everyone can get to know eachother!"
and as they soon quiet down, they are all then teleported to the auditorium, which felt more like a palace than anything, as everyone takes their seats, Asher takes his next to Sophia in the front row, causing a few gazes, and gasps from the other teachers, who know full well Sophia has never had a teaching assistant
"i trust you have been well Sophia?"
"i should be asking you that, Asher"
soon, they start chatting, which seems to be just plain flirting at a certain point, atleast until the headmistress, followed by the representatives of the second third and fourth years. as alot of gazes are drawn to her, well.. her figure, her luscious red hair, her supple lips.. everything.
"hello everyone, new students, and teachers! i am the headmaster of this academy, Meruin Thames, before we begin the ball, i will first explain a few things about the academy!"
"so, first thing first, courses! there are three courses, the mage course, the martial course, and the holy course, depending on your ability's"
"you will all be sent to one of the three courses, and long with the mandatory classes, you will choose what other subjects you learn from the course you are assigned too"
"and if you don't belong to a course, and are a special case, you will get a different schedule than everyone else."
"on top of the mandatory classes and the ones from your courses, you can choose another five classes, weather they not relate to your course, or belong to a different course than yours."
"NOW, secondly. classes, there are exactly 1030 students in every year, those students are then separated into different classes, the top thirty students according to ranks, will be placed in the elite class, the rest will be separated randomly between the other four classes, phoenix, dragon, basilisk, and angel."
"there will be class competitions where all the classes compete, now. what is the difference between the lite class, and the rest?"
"well first of all, they are comprised of the thirty top students, meaning they are full of the strongest students in the first year, to offset this, the rest of the classes have an insane number advantage"
"secondly. facility's and training, the elite class will have better accommodations, training facility's, and more. and since they are only thirty students in the entire class, each and every student can be taken care of more carefully. once again, this means nothing if the elite class is lazy, and the number advantage is over a two hundred student difference, so no complaining."
"if you do have any complaints. than suck it up, if you want to be treated better, become a student in the top thirty among the ranking and take their place, only power matters here.
"and lastly, before we start the ball, we will be revealing the top thirty students, everyone else will get their badge once the ball begins."
"so at rank thirty is..." as she lists the top thirty, most being nobles with a handful of commoners, she finally reaches the top 15 students
"at rank 15 is Eric Watson! please come up here to the stage and receive your badge!"
"at rank 13 is Sylvia Johnson! come up to receive your rank badge!"
"at rank 12 is Cain Olivera! you already know what to do by now!"
"at rank ten is Camelia hemsworth! from now on i will only be saying rank and name since its obvious you need to come and receive your badge!"
"at rank eight in the rankings is Asher!"
"I'm guessing its thanks to you, Sophia, so I'm grateful."
"your welcome, Asher."
going up to the stage and receiving his badge, he stands to the side after flashing a smile at the crowd, making many girls blush
"thank you, headmaster."
"alright now! we are finally in top five!"
"and at rank five is drall loyster!"
a burly looking man, with a spear hung on his back walks up to the stage, receiving his badge with a cocky smile
"up fourth is the princess Ariana von grahan!"
she announces, as a beautiful wheat gold hair walks up receiving her badge with a kind smile
"at third stands our prince Sullivan von grahan!"
a boy resembling the princess walks up, head high and a kind, warm smile at his face, as many girls yell in awe
"at rank two is the elven princess, iris silvergale celestia!"
a young elven woman, resembling Sophia walks on stage, her expression indifferent un uncaring
"and finally! at rank one stands the granddaughter of my good friend the sword saint, Serena nihil!"
as serene walks up to the podium, her gaze lands on Asher, who had surprised her being at 8th place and instead of saying anything, Asher simply claps, a smile on his face congratulating her
"now! miss Serena, do you mayhaps have anything you wish to say to the other students?"
"i am perfect, so my class must be perfect aswell, if a single student is overtaken in rank by someone not from our class, i will personally behead them."
"ooooh~ feisty!"
"well everyone! you will now be assigned your dorms and roommates, while your classmate must be from your class, the placings are random, and no there is no separate dorms for women and men!"
"the ball begins at 9 pm tonight."

hi yalls! hope you enjoyed the chapter, i personally think i did a somewhat decent job (although i forgot to save the page so i had to remake it from the beginning) and i recently figured something that should have been fucking obvious! the main character must have a goal or objective, so worry not guys i have already decided on one!
sadly it may take a while to implement so for the time being the mc's objective will be mostly getting through the academy in one piece i suspect by the time i i show the first part of the goal it may be around chapter 20-30 if not more!
