Chapter 107
Flint
I can't believe this is White Stone.
The changes that have happened since the new pack alpha took his position are staggering. I walk around noting everything on my tablet, cataloging what's been done.
Three months. I was gone for three months, and the place is almost unrecognizable.
The construction site alone is massive—trucks, cranes, workers in hard hats. A building going up that's taller than anything White Stone has ever had. Not just functional. Modern. The kind of thing I used to see in human cities and assume we'd never have.
There are paved roads now. Actual paved roads, not just dirt paths that turned to mud every spring. Streetlamps. A drainage system that doesn't flood the butcher's shop every time it rains.
I stop in front of the new clinic. It's not finished yet—the windows are still being installed—but it's already twice the size of the old one.
"Flint!"
