Chapter 13 - One Chair in the Corner of the Classroom

Genre: Slice of life + Teenagers + Emotional

Life Phase: School children (12–13 years old)

Every class has a mysterious chair. In class 7B, the third chair from the back, near the window, is always empty. Even when all the chairs are full, no one wants to sit there.

Lina, a new student who doesn't know anything, sits in that chair on her first day. She feels the chair is comfortable, even as if it "accepts her presence". But her friends immediately stare in horror.

"That's Rani's chair," whispered a student.

"Who is Rani?"

No one really explained it, only a vague story that a child had sat there, then disappeared during recess and was never found.

Lina doesn't believe in strange things, but every time she sits there, she feels calmer, more focused. Even her test scores have improved drastically. Until one day, she finds a small note folded under the table: "Thank you for sitting here again. I'm not alone anymore."

Interesting knowledge: Children aged 12–14 years begin to experience high levels of imagination and empathy. Favorite seats can form a real "psychological comfort zone."

Philosophy: Sometimes what we fear is just memories that have not been explained.

Strange rumor: In some old schools in Indonesia, empty chairs that have not been occupied for more than a week are believed to hold the last "memories" of students who have mysteriously disappeared.
