The tired procession of around two hundred Paladins was walking slowly towards the city of Andulan.
Their bodies were bruised, tired, and their souls heavy with the burden of shame. Still, they were dragging themselves to increase their distance from the accursed city as much as possible.
They also harbored a burning rage which they wanted to vent in front of the Holy Father. They would ask the Holy Order to start another Great Purge. And this time, they would volunteer to be the cannon fodder, the human shield. They would wash away their shame and guilt with their own blood.
"I…I can't take it anymore!" said a young Paladin who was dragging his heavily bruised left leg. "P-please, I b-beg y-you, let's take a break!"
Soon, more people joined in the murmur, saying how tired they were to walk any further. They needed rest. They needed sleep.
