Chapter 541 - Chapter 541: Searching for the Three-Tails

Chapter 541: Searching for the Three-Tails

"Who are you? Could you be my descendant? Have all my descendants gone over to the Leaf Village? What a bunch of useless fellows!" The mustached Mizukage was fuming. For a moment, that was the only answer he could think of.

The caster, Kabuto, secretly transmitted some information to him.

His expression grew even more displeased. "A Konoha ninja is making a name for herself in the ninja world using my signature technique? How outrageous!"

Ino said seriously, "Senior, thank you for your teachings back then. For the sake of that sentiment, I will seal you."

The mustached man smiled. "Then let me see what you've got."

They both formed hand signs at the same time to use Steaming Danger Tyranny. A child-sized version of the Second Mizukage and a chubby version of Ino appeared simultaneously.

The two water clones were both extremely fast, charging out from the left and right. But just before they collided, Kabuto signaled for the Second Mizukage and Second Tsuchikage to retreat.

"What a pity. Next time, I hope to see you again," the Second Mizukage said before stepping into a coffin with the character for "Water" on it.

Then, the Second Tsuchikage also nodded to the Third, and disappeared along with a coffin bearing the character for "Earth."

With the enemies gone, the allied forces searched the area, practically digging three feet deep, but they still couldn't find the supposedly terrifying Gedo Statue. It seemed the Akatsuki had already moved it.

A large number of Rain ninja had also fled.

Yugito came to report. She had searched a hundred-mile radius outside the Rain Village but couldn't find the user of the Impure World Reincarnation.

In the name of searching for the Akatsuki, the Allied Shinobi Forces thoroughly "searched" the Hidden Rain Village.

Even Ino didn't stop them. Ninja fought with their heads on the line; they were essentially a mercenary organization, not a strictly disciplined army. Stopping them at this point would do no good.

She simply issued a joint order with the Third Tsuchikage: "searching" was allowed, but killing was forbidden. After that, she didn't interfere further.

Obito had secretly controlled the Fourth Mizukage for many years, so he was very familiar with the Land of Water.

He took the Gedo Statue to a deserted island in the Land of Water, preparing to use it as a temporary base.

When he received the news of Kisame's death, he didn't show much of a reaction, simply nodding to indicate he understood.

Elsewhere, Ajisai had fulfilled Nagato's last wish. She led a portion of the Rain ninja away from the village in advance, heading to the Land of Wind to join the new organization founded by Yahiko, Konan, and Gaara.

In the Eastern Sea.

The Akatsuki had originally assigned the task of searching for the Three-Tails to Deidara and Gaara. With Nagato's death and Gaara going with Yahiko and Konan to the Land of Wind to rebuild the Akatsuki, Deidara was completely free.

Deidara had no feelings for the Akatsuki. He saw it as just a stage to display his art.

With Gaara gone and the Akatsuki in a state of division, he completely abandoned the mission.

The Three-Tails? What does the Three-Tails have to do with me?

He let himself loose, going off to find a place to showcase his art.

He didn't care about it, but someone else did: the revived Madara Uchiha.

Madara Uchiha had transplanted Fugaku Uchiha's Mangekyo Sharingan. Although they weren't his own eyes and felt a bit uncomfortable, his body still contained the power of the Creation of All Things, a fusion of Indra's and Ashura's chakra.

Even though Fugaku's eyes were only Mangekyo Sharingan and not Eternal Mangekyo, using them wouldn't cause blindness.

Without the Rinnegan, his combat power was far from its peak. His current strength was about the same as when he fought Hashirama Senju at the Valley of the End.

He felt his current strength was more than enough to handle ordinary battles. After receiving the news from Zetsu, he immediately left his lair to search for the Three-Tails.

It was difficult. It was like finding a needle in a haystack.

Because of their strong love, the Uchiha clan's brains were in a perpetually agitated state, making it impossible for them to calm down and sense the world.

Sasuke had studied with Ino for a month, using every method available—even using a tranquilizer that dulled his thoughts—and had only just barely completed the sensory training.

Madara had fused Ashura's and Indra's chakra; his genes were actually different from those of an ordinary Uchiha.

But his essence was still Uchiha. As the reincarnation of Indra, some things could never be completely eradicated, no matter how much he changed.

He had no sensory abilities.

Finding the Three-Tails in the vast ocean was an extremely difficult task even for a sensory-type ninja. Without that ability, he had no way to even begin his search.

He wandered for three days and then, as was to be expected, he discovered a few Konoha ninja. He immediately hid himself and decided to use these ninja to help him find the Three-Tails.

With Ino leading the expedition to the Hidden Rain Village, the deputy head of the Intelligence Department, Aoba Yamashiro, was in charge of the search for the Three-Tails.

He was extremely meticulous in his work. The village had ordered him to find the Three-Tails' tracks, and he was diligent, arranging all the work in an orderly fashion.

Konoha's leadership had no expectation that Might Guy's Team Guy would be able to find the Three-Tails. What kind of reconnaissance abilities did Team Guy have? The Byakugan? The Byakugan was too precise. In terms of pure reconnaissance, it was not as good as the wide-range sensory ninjutsu.

Might Guy and Rock Lee were even less suited for searching for targets. Asking them to find someone through traditional ninja methods like reconnaissance, searching, and analysis? Don't be ridiculous!

Minato Namikaze just wanted them to relax and take a break; he had no expectations for them at all.

The village's hopes were placed on the Intelligence Department.

Now, in the Eastern Sea, the Intelligence Department was acting as a bridge, remotely controlling more than twenty squads, casting a wide net to search the sea area.

Might Guy's Team Guy was one of these squads. Hayate Gekko's team was another...

Having just been promoted to jonin, Hayate Gekko was leading a team on a mission. His luck was as strange as ever. He was standing on a huge reef, searching for traces of the Three-Tails.

Ninja can walk on water, but standing on the surface for a long time consumes a considerable amount of chakra. He was standing on the reef to take a short break.

He never expected that the reef under his feet was actually moving!

The Three-Tails, Isobu, had a thick shell covering its body. Having spent years in the water, its shell was also covered with reefs and coral. The spot where Hayate was standing was the very top of the Three-Tails' shell.

The Three-Tails, Isobu, was shaped a bit like a turtle. Sensing something strange on its back, the wild Tailed Beast subconsciously looked back.

Hayate Gekko: "..."

As an outstanding graduate of the Sarutobi Cram School, Hayate Gekko had a certain fighting spirit.

He immediately contacted his nearby Konoha comrades by radio and had them report the news to Aoba Yamashiro.

He himself then raised his hand and slapped a sealing tag on the Three-Tails.

To seal the Three-Tails, Konoha had prepared a large number of sealing tags. One or two certainly wouldn't be enough, but with enough of them, even the Three-Tails could be sealed.
