Chapter 540: Subduing Samehada
With Kisame buried at sea, the ninja sword Samehada, like a large insect, writhed on the ground for a moment. Then, it opened its mouth and swallowed all of Kisame's blood and the shredded pieces of his clothing from the scene.
The last trace of its master in this world was now completely erased.

The next second, Kurotsuchi also rushed out of the tunnel and, in her signature posture—leaning forward, butt out, revealing her long legs—spat a stream of scorching, magma-like Lava Release ninjutsu at the tunnel entrance.
Then, a massive Great Waterfall Technique engulfed her lava. The mustached Mizukage walked out first, treading on the water, followed by the silent Second Tsuchikage.
The Third Tsuchikage was full of resentment. He gestured for Ino to look at the enemies emerging from the tunnel. "Look at the fine mess you Konoha ninja have made!"
"Don't be ridiculous. What does this have to do with us Konoha ninja?"
Ōnoki's personality was that of a stubborn old man, but his body was not. Old was old. He was now eighty years old, and his physical functions had severely declined. How could he possibly fight the Second Tsuchikage and Second Mizukage, who had infinite stamina?

Ino retorted without showing any weakness, "The guy I just killed, named Kisame Hoshigaki, was a member of the Akatsuki. He personally admitted just now that the Akatsuki has accepted many missions from the Hidden Stone Village. It's because of you that this rogue-nin organization has grown to what it is today!"
You say I have a rogue-nin, I say you support the Akatsuki.
Neither of them had a clean slate...
Ino and the Third Tsuchikage argued about their respective responsibilities for a bit.
"Will you two stop arguing! Are you going to help me or not?" Kurotsuchi was very dissatisfied. She had used all her tricks but still couldn't hold back the Second Mizukage and Second Tsuchikage.
"Kurotsuchi-chan, I'll help you." Ino stuck Samehada into the ground nearby.
The enemy had come out so openly. If she didn't throw a single punch, she wouldn't be able to justify her position. She had to at least put up a bit of a fight, for show.
She looked at the Third Tsuchikage. "You go find your master. I'll take on the Second Mizukage?"
The Third Tsuchikage said in his gruff voice, "Fine."
Ino added a warning, "If you act rashly again, you will bring dishonor to the name of Tsuchikage."
Actually, the Third Tsuchikage really did have the thought of dumping the enemies on Ino and going to find the Gedo Statue himself. At his age, things like face and honor were empty; tangible benefits were what mattered. But Ino had brought up the title of Tsuchikage, so he couldn't just ignore it.
"I don't need a Konoha ninja to tell me how to do my job!" The Third Tsuchikage gritted his back teeth and went to face the reincarnated Second Tsuchikage.
Ino, meanwhile, looked at the Second Mizukage. The bit of friendliness she had established with his chakra remnant back then using the Mind Body Disturbance Technique could be transferred to his main body. The mustached Mizukage tilted his head and looked at her. He felt that this Konoha kunoichi looked more and more familiar, yet they had never met.
