Gray time is still wrapped around Carlos' body…
The time for him to work with the grim reaper on earth was done. He turned to the grim reaper and said…
"Remain here on earth while I go get Death and Fate here."
The grim reaper nodded, very obedient.
With the grim reaper on the other side, the gateway or rift can be maintained. And Carlos wouldn't lose his control over time which means, time in that universe was definitely under his control. No one could move an inch after being put on pause.
However if the grim reaper decides to disobey, then the portal would close up instantly and Carlos would lose his control over the universe since it was the underworld and it is Impossible to communicate with those outside, under it.
Which is also why he had used Death and Fate as an excuse to make the grim reaper stay put.
Finally, Carlos was in front of the chamber of doom, and strangely Fate's petals still remained there the way it had been, three months ago.
