Chapter 6 - Meeting the Angels of Sky City

Sky City

Jon and Victor stood in the middle of Sky City. This place was completely different from any city they had ever seen. The buildings here were grand, with unique architecture. Every structure had intricate carvings, and the streets were beautifully designed.

Jon whispered, "Victor, snap out of it! We've entered the city of angels!"

Victor, who had been mesmerized by the surroundings, quickly composed himself and tried to put on a serious expression.

Alina gestured for them to follow her, and they walked behind her through the streets of Sky City. Jon was fascinated by the city's beauty and wondered how such a magnificent place could exist so high in the sky. Unable to hold back his curiosity, he finally asked, "How was this city built at such a height?"

Alina glanced at him with mild irritation and said, "I told you not to speak unless I say so!"

Jon immediately nodded in agreement and remained silent.

As they moved deeper into the city, they noticed many angels engaged in their daily activities. However, as soon as the angels noticed Jon and Victor, they stopped and began staring at them.

Feeling uneasy, Jon and Victor avoided eye contact and continued following Alina.

Soon, Alina led them to a massive building, the most beautiful and grand structure in Sky City. Just then, the enormous doors opened, and a cool breeze flowed out.

Alina stepped inside, motioning them to follow. Inside, they found themselves in a vast hall illuminated by elegant lamps mounted on the walls. Several angels sat on large chairs, exuding an aura of authority and power.

As soon as Alina entered, all the angels seated inside stood up in respect, welcoming her. Alina nodded in acknowledgment, and seeing this, Jon and Victor did the same.

A commanding angel stepped forward and asked, "Alina, who are these two? They don't look like angels at all."

Alina replied seriously, "They are not angels. They are humans." She gestured toward Jon and Victor.

Understanding the cue, Jon introduced himself, "My name is Jon Carter. I come from a small village in the Hamburg Kingdom of the Eastern Region."

Victor bowed slightly and said, "My name is Victor Hugo."

The angel spoke in a calm tone, "Alina, why have you brought them here?"

Another angel questioned sharply, "Do you know how dangerous humans can be?"

Alina remained composed as she began to explain, "When I left Sky City, I encountered a giant rhino while flying. It attacked me from behind, and I was seriously injured in just one blow. These two men fought the beast and saved my life. That is why they are standing before you today."

An angel asked, "Alina, what were they doing in the frozen mountains and forests?"

Alina gestured toward Jon, who then explained, "We were searching for the Gandharva Region, and on our journey, we met Alina."

The powerful angel spoke again, this time with a gentler tone, "I have no issue with your presence here, but we have seen how human civilizations behave in the past. That fear still lingers. However, since Alina has brought you here, I trust that she made this decision wisely."

Seeing the situation resolve, Alina let out a sigh of relief.

The commanding angel then declared, "Alina, the responsibility of hosting them is yours. They are free to stay as long as they want and may leave whenever they wish."

With a solemn proclamation, he welcomed them, "Jon Carter and Victor Hugo, you are officially welcomed to Vignesh's Sky City!"

Alina then stepped out of the grand hall with Jon and Victor.

Vignesh's decision made Jon and Victor extremely happy. Jon was thinking about how their food and supplies were almost finished. He planned to gather provisions from Sky City before continuing their journey.

On the other hand, Victor was completely lost in excitement. He had already made up his mind—he would spend the rest of his life here in Sky City.

"Me and Alina… together forever!"

Victor was so deep in his imagination that he had already envisioned his future with Alina. He had even thought of names for their future children. He saw his life ahead, full of happiness and love, living with Alina in this magnificent city.

Just then, Jon suddenly grabbed his hand and shook him slightly.

"Victor, snap out of it!" Jon whispered.

Victor jolted back to reality and asked, "What happened?"

Jon signaled ahead with his eyes.

In front of them stood a man whose eyes were filled with anger. His expression was stern, and his whole body radiated tension. There was no warmth or welcome in his demeanor—only suspicion and resentment.

Alina looked at him and asked in a calm voice, "Ben, what's wrong?"

Ben, still fuming, suddenly spread his wings wide. His golden wings shimmered with a mystical glow, making him look even more intimidating. His strong physique and powerful presence made it clear that he was no ordinary angel—he was a warrior.

In a firm, commanding tone, Ben asked, "Why did you bring these two here?"

Alina, unfazed by his hostility, replied with a slight smile, "King Vignesh has granted them permission to stay here. If you have a problem, go talk to him."

Ben's jaw tightened, but he remained silent. Alina ignored him and continued walking. Jon and Victor followed closely behind her.

As they passed by, Victor gave Ben a smug smile, as if trying to provoke him. Ben's eyes burned with jealousy, but he controlled his emotions and stayed quiet.

Alina kept walking ahead, but there was now a faint trace of concern on her face.

A New Challenge in Sky City

Jon and Victor followed Alina as she led them through the streets of Sky City. After a short walk, Alina stopped in front of a modest-looking house.

Turning towards them, she said, "This is where I live."

She knocked on the door, and after a moment, three angelic girls stepped out, their faces lighting up upon seeing Alina. They greeted her warmly before turning their attention toward Jon and Victor.

Alina gestured toward the two humans and introduced them. "These are my friends, Jon and Victor. They'll be staying here for now."

The three girls exchanged curious glances but nodded respectfully.

"These are my closest friends," Alina continued, pointing at each girl. "Promica, Monika, and Zenisha."

Jon and Victor greeted them with a slight bow, and the three angelic girls responded with polite nods.

Inside Alina's Home

Once inside, Jon and Victor were taken aback. The house looked ordinary from the outside, but inside, it was breathtakingly beautiful. The walls were adorned with glowing stones that bathed the room in a soft, ethereal light. Elegant furniture decorated the space, and the air carried a faint fragrance of blooming flowers.

Alina motioned for them to sit. "Make yourselves comfortable."

Jon and Victor sank into an opulent sofa, their exhaustion melting away. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming.

As they settled in, Alina continued, "We all live here together. These three are more than just friends—they are like my sisters."

Before the conversation could continue, a sudden knock on the door drew everyone's attention.

An Unexpected Visitor: Max

Alina walked to the door and opened it. A strong-built figure stepped inside, his majestic wings neatly folded behind him. His sharp gaze swept across the room before settling on Alina.

Recognizing him, Alina's brows furrowed slightly in surprise. "Max? What brings you here?"

Max bowed slightly before speaking in a calm yet authoritative tone. "King Vignesh wishes to see the combat skills of these human warriors. You are to bring them to the main arena tomorrow morning."

Jon and Victor exchanged glances, sensing the weight of the words.

Without waiting for a response, Max turned and left, his steps firm and purposeful.

As the door closed, Alina remained standing, lost in thought.

"Ben..."

The name echoed in her mind. Was this his doing? Was he trying to set a trap?

She clenched her fists slightly. Tomorrow could change everything.
