Chapter 151 - Chapter 151: My Name is Lucifer Morningstar

"Damn it!" The man cursed quietly, roughly releasing the collar of the armed man's shirt.

Then, he stood tall, gazing at the dark night sky, taking a deep breath as if trying to calm himself. "Hey, LA Police!"

Carter felt something terrifying about this figure, even though that feeling was wrapped in an increasingly deep anxiety. With a bit of hesitation, Carter stepped forward, asking loudly, "Who are you? What's your connection to that man? What's your connection to this woman?"

The man slowly turned around, with graceful and controlled movements, his expression no longer showing anger. He simply shook his head slightly, indicating that Carter would not get an easy answer. "My name is... Lucifer Morningstar."

.......

Bar Lux.

How ironic.

The owner of the bar is named Satan, yet the bar he opened craves light, a place filled with the glimmer of dim lights reflecting off old mirrors and wooden tables.

Lance sat in a corner of the bar, a glass of wine in hand, enjoying his drink leisurely. Lance's gaze was focused on the ongoing performance, full of interest, though a hint of curiosity lingered in his eyes.

On the small stage in front, the boss—who prefers to be called Lucifer Morningstar—sat at the piano, his fingers dancing over the keys with remarkable skill. The music flowed so sadly, echoing in the silence of the bar, as if reflecting the despair trapped within.

Next to Lucifer, a serious-looking female detective sat, writing something in her notebook. "Lucifer Morningstar… is this a stage name or something?"

Lucifer shrugged, a wide smile on his unreadable face. "Unfortunately, no," Lucifer replied, his voice soft yet confident. "This is a gift from God to me."

The detective grimaced, her lips slightly pursed. Perhaps out of confusion, or feeling intimidated. Who in their right mind would choose a devil's name for themselves?

Lucifer gazed at the female detective, his look sharp yet filled with interest. His slender fingers relaxed for a moment, and casually, Lucifer posed a hanging question. "You look familiar. Have we met before?"

The female detective squinted, a bit puzzled. "Yes, five minutes ago, and I'm the one asking the questions... Tell me about your relationship with the victim."

Lucifer leaned back against the piano, spreading his arms as if unburdened. "The woman worked here a few years ago. I occasionally accompanied her in singing, performing songs we often created together. Then, the woman became famous. After that, someone decided to end her life... in a cruel manner."

"Do you know the armed man?"

Lucifer paused for a moment, his eyes staring blankly ahead. Then, he picked up the wine glass resting on the piano, touched it to his lips, and said, "No. But we did talk a little while before the man died—I asked him, why did he do that?"

The female detective scoffed, uninterested in Lucifer's strange remarks. "You like to play the role of a cop, huh?"

Lucifer chuckled softly, his bright face adorned with a teasing smile. "No, detective. I just like to play. How about you? Do you enjoy playing games too?"

The female detective ignored Lucifer's chatter and quickly refocused. "So, you talk to dead people?"

Lucifer adjusted his position, shaking his head slowly. "No, the man wasn't dead at that time. His soul hadn't entered hell yet, if you want a more technical explanation."

"Ah, of course..." The female detective looked at Lucifer skeptically. "Did the man tell you why he killed someone?"

Lucifer gazed at the female detective with an expression that seemed enlightened. "Of course, for money!" he replied while sipping his wine. Lucifer's smile was mischievous, but there was a slight serious tone that echoed. "You humans are truly greedy for money."

The female detective couldn't hold back her skeptical gaze. "Yes, we are greedy for money," she said coldly, then asked in return, "So, what about you? Where are you from? London?"

Lucifer laughed lightly, his smile widening. However, he didn't answer immediately. Instead, he changed the subject. "The man said something before he died—where he was just following orders. Don't you find that interesting?"

Suddenly, the door swung open loudly, and a burly man with an unhappy face entered. "Hey, Chloe Decker!" the man greeted in a deep voice, "This is my case. What are you doing here?"

Chloe, the female detective, merely pursed her lips, displeased. "The captain already said this is my case, Carter... Didn't Tania tell you that you would be suspended soon?"

Carter, seemingly unfazed, crossed his arms and laughed smugly. "Hahaha, I might be suspended, but I just handled a big case—a big case that I snatched from the FBI! If that old Diel dares to suspend me, I'll report him!"

Chloe rolled her eyes, quickly snatching the information from Carter's hands, flipping through the pages without speaking. "You were the first one on the scene. What did you find?"

Carter grumbled unhappily but finally suggested, "I found a lot of things. But... I need a little recognition too, Chloe. How about we agree on that?"

"Fine." Chloe agreed nonchalantly.

As Carter's partner for years, Chloe knew just how noisy this man could be. If she didn't agree to Carter's terms, he would likely keep pestering her all night with endless rap songs.

"Deal!" Carter exclaimed cheerfully, flipping to one page of information, pointing to a photo there. "You must know the late Delilah, the big Hollywood star. Damn, I just bought tickets to that woman's concert. It took me half a month to get those..."

"Carter!!" Chloe interrupted, her voice filled with annoyance.

PS: Lucifer Morningstar is from the American TV series "Lucifer," which is a spin-off of DC Comics. Although categorized as a "DC comic adaptation," the series actually has significant differences from the original comics, even straying far from the "supernatural" theme. This drama merely borrows the name and identity of the character and is more accurately considered a detective drama with supernatural elements. Thus, it can be said that this series is more based on a background similar to elements from the Marvel universe.
