Chapter 4 - Chapter 2: Breeze

.

.

.

I could hear my heart beat along with my footsteps.

.

.

.

It is surprisingly nervewracking.

.

.

.

The house was pretty much the same. It was a bit more fresh in a sense though.

.

.

I made eye contact with the cheap painting that my dad bought. My mom swears to throw it away, but she never did.

.

.

I had a weird liking to it, always did.

.

.

.

.

"Ha-na!!! What's taking you so long!"

.

.

I turned my head.

.

The house looks the same, but my mom looks different.

.

.

.

She looks so young.

.

.

.

"You still need to eat dinner, I know you're tired from the shoots, but you'd better eat first."

.

.

It's such a familiar situation.

.

.

.

I'm not sure how to react since the lines between dream and reality is increasingly blurring.

.

.

"Yeah."

.

.

Is this really real? Am I not in a dream? Am I alive?

.

.

.

I took a seat and picked up my chopsticks.

.

.

.

...

...

...

.

.

.

The sounds of chopsticks, plates and chewing filled the air. My mom liked to talk, but never during meal time.

.

.

I chewed the rice slowly.

.

.

It was strange, I could feel the texture of the rice and even taste the slight sweetness of it.

.

.

.

My chopsticks reached for the kimchi*.

.

.

.

It was spicy and sour.

.

.

.

Oh no.

.

.

.

Is this reality?

.

.

.

It's not a dream.

.

.

.

I chewed my food unfocusedly.

.

.

.

...

...

...

.

.

.

My mom, with her bowl clean, finally spoke.

.

"Your dad is going to be a little late tonight, he has overtime."

.

.

"Ah..Really.....?"

.

.

.

I remember my dad being away a lot during this time.

.

It was just routine.

.

.

.

"Are you alright? Did the director scold you?"

.

"No, it's nothing like that, I'm fine."

.

.

Totally fine

.

.

I don't really know what to say to my mom.

.

.

Am I supposed to tell her that her daughter is actually not really her daughter?

.

.

Sounds like the words of a lunatic.

.

.

.

"You...You sure you're okay?"

.

.

"Yeah, I'm fine. I'm just.....a bit worried...I guess..."

.

.

My mom gave me a questioning gaze.

.

.

.

I lowered my eyes.

.

.

.

"How about that drama?"

.

.

.

.

"Huh??"

.

.

"You did just fine, our neighbors said so too."

.

.

.

Drama?

.

.

.

What drama could I possibly be working on at this time?

.

.

.

"What's with you?"

.

.

Oh no

.

.

"Yeah it's been quite difficult so far...Haha."

.

.

.

"How could it be difficult? You're just acting like yourself there."

.

.

.

Huh, what drama could this possibly be?

.

.

.

What am I working on in November 200X?

.

.

.

"It doesn't matter anyways, your parts in 'Revive' are done."

.

.

Oh...It's that drama

.

.

.

It's a crime-thriller, I think I played some kid that appeared for a few episodes.

.

.

The director was quite strict and I was scolded quite often. The weight of feeling like a failure weighted on me as the shoot ends, at least it was like that, back then.

.

.

.

"There is no time for that anyways, you need to prepare for Spring Breeze."

.

.

.

Spring Breeze? What drama is that even?

.

.

.

Even the title makes me not interested to watch it.

.

.

.

"Ah...Really? Haha..."

.

.

Whoever chose this drama has a horrible taste.

.

.

"Memorize your lines well, I don't like it that much but you insisted on this drama."

.

.

.

I take it back.

.

.

.

...

...

...

.

.

.

After washing the dishes, I head back upstairs.

.

.

.

I feel so tired.

.

.

.

Is this a dream or not?

.

.

Forget it, I should just sleep, I feel so exhausted mentally.

.

.

.

But first, let me check out that script.

.

.

.

It should be here somewhere...

.

.

.

In one of the drawers, lay my copy of the scripts.

.

The one for 'Revive' was in a particularly bad condition.

.

.

There it is, 'Spring Breeze'.

.

.

.

Reading the synopsis and details brought some memories back.

.

Not surprised that I forgot about this, my part isn't that significant, and it's a mediocre drama in every sense.

.

.

.

It's a public broadcasting daily drama from Channel K. It spans for 150 episodes, airing 5 episodes per week like most daily dramas.

.

It's a romance and family drama that starts off lighthearted and started getting frustrating in the middle.

.

In the end it just became some sort of weird thing.

.

.

It was a bad but forgettable drama.

.

.

Although some actors managed to have a big break later on, it's a drama that their fans don't really rewatch.

.

.

Can't blame them, what type of crazy person would want to watch a 150 episode trash.

.

.

.

In my previous life...Ah, it feels do weird to say that.

.

Back then, I participated in this drama. My role was the younger sister of the female lead. She is annoying, immature, annoying, you get it.

.

.

There is barely any character development on her side and she hardly gets any screentime too.

.

.

I remember reading some comments cursing at my character.

.

.

There was nothing too severe due to my lack of screentime, but it gave a huge impression on me since it was the first time I earned such strong reactions from the public.

.

.

.

To sum it up, it is a bad role in a bad drama.

.

.

.

It's settled already, so it'll be difficult to get out.

.

.

Besides, it's not like I have much choice anyways.

.

.

.

I flipped through the script.

.

.

There must be more people watching daily dramas at this time period right?

.

.

Maybe it won't be that bad.

.

.

.

Why am I seriously thinking about this?

.

.

This is not my biggest problem for now, at worst I will just repeat everything.

.

.

.

The main problem is this weird time travel type of thing.

.

.

What is this even supposed to be?

.

.

A dream? Time travel? Alternate universe?

.

.

.

My mind went back to some time travel dramas I watched recently.

.

.

.

This is so confusing.

.

.

.

I laid on my bed.

.

.

As I closed my eyes, I wished that I would return to the present time.
