~~~[START]
"Pathetic," Ken whispered, as his eyes locked deep in the gaze of a dying man. The man's mouth was slightly opened, as Ken's sharpened fingers sliced deep into his lower jaw.
Ken's other hand held his face upright to maintain eye contact, as if Ken's palm was leading his soul to life after.
"Gloop… gloop!"
He was drowning with blood produced by bleeding lower palate. His eyes locked deep in the depths of Ken's scarlet orbs.
And his eyes faded, as the once invincible light they produced lit dim and left only darkened corpse, soul gone to the under.
Ken, whose gaze saw deep, now felt it, the feeling of altered soul. The feeling of personality changing due to the now-gained privilege of work by blood.
[NEW TEMPLATE UNLOCKED]
His eyes wandered, as he felt like the last word he had spoken wouldn't normally come from his mouth. 'Do the templates change my being?' his thoughts reflected, which would make sense because if they give him memories and experience, it was bound for them to alter his personality, even if slightly—But at 1%, what would happen when it reaches a hundred?
[RYOMEN SUKUNA {1 : 100}]
[SHRINE {lvl 1}]
The name itself imposed power. 'It shouldn't change me that much,' Ken thought, thinking that even if his personality was changing, it was only little traits he gained affected.
'So I shouldn't be worried,' but his heart betrayed, thinking about the evil that lay in the name that stood in the constant of his vision.
Turning around,
KA-CHUNK! KA-CHUNK!
Hawks was surrounded, fighting almost three people at once.
Although Ken had killed the most, the ones Hawks was fighting had seemed to stir the most trouble.
So Ken dashed, and before one of the men could react, before he could see that Ken had gained his sight, Ken was already three feet away.
His hand stretched out, as it grabbed the top of his skull.
And as if by nothing,
SWISH! SWOOSH!
The sound of invisible slices swiftly cut through his head.
But even now, his face showed no sign of damage, but his body, as if in response, dropped dead to the bloodied floor.
It seemed that the slices were still too weak to damage his face, but were strong enough to cut his brain in two.
Hawks, who was still fighting the remaining two, gained view of what had happened, as confusion cut through the depth of his consciousness, but the fight was too hard to hold thought, as it was cut by the swords swung by enemies.
So he pushed on, and his wings blew winds to increase his agility.
As one of the men slashed his sword towards his neck, Hawks's wings pushed front, moving Hawks's body backward, avoiding that danger that hung near his now still intact throat.
And as if on command, Ken, like a ghost, moved swiftly, as his knees hit the back of the figure who almost turned Hawks into corpse.
The hit so strong, so mysterious, that as it made contact, a black ripple formed through, as lightning of red showed sight, breaking the man's spinal bones and ribs with its impact.
As he was blown through the air.
Another, as if seeing a chance, launched an attack, slashing his black katana in Ken's direction while dashing forward.
He blundered, because before he could take another step, before his distance could draw closer,
Hawks's feathers launched from the back, impaling themselves into his skin, but his flesh was too strong for them to move through.
And he turned his gaze to the back to gain view of Hawks, who was currently fighting one of his brothers.
And as if deceived by pain, he forgot that Hawks was not alone, as his eyes quickly shut.
Not because of the need to blink, not because of the need to sleep, but because…
He was dead.
His head was slashed separate from his body, as Ken's transformed fingers cut through his throat like it was nothing but soft skin, and body turned into headless human flesh.
The action was so swift, so in tune, that Hawks and the person he was fighting didn't even notice.
And Ken, as if his mind was frenzied, dashed towards them.
Hawks, as if feeling the coming attack, moved backward with full force, making his wings push back his body.
And the wind they produced caused the man he was fighting to lose his focus, and to him, it seemed that Ken had mysteriously teleported in front of his vision, Ken's tall body slightly floating above the ground due to the speed his legs produced.
And his gaze, although focused, still gazed at something else. Looking front, but paying little notice, and only looking at one.
[RYOMEN SUKUNA {3 : 100}]
Yet the man launched an attack with swiftness, his sword held in one hand as he stabbed in the direction Ken stood.
But Ken, seeing the attack, just slightly moved his upper body to the side, the blade held by the man missing him by a hair.
And as the man's hand stood parallel to his vision, Ken muttered one word,
"Cleave."
CHUNK!
His arm was cut clean, as he moved backward and fell to the ground, crawling away from the child of sin.
AAAAAAAAGH!!!
Yet his screams seemed cut short.
"Dismantle."
KA-CHUNK!
His throat, although not completely clear, was sliced in full, leaving only the rest of the neck to keep his head and body intact.
The noise stopped, and the screaming cleared. And all that was left was one.
Still sitting on his chair, and his eyes still closed.
They both looked at him. "You were right," Ringmaster voiced, his voice sounding loud but lacking confidence.
It wasn't because of stage fright, it wasn't because of fate, but because of death coming.
"But I'll give you the honor by doing it myself," his voice rang loud, as he moved his hand to his jacket, taking out what looked to be a large remote with an enormous red button.
"But… I'm not going alone," as he moved his finger, preparing the end.
Yet darkness. So much it felt like nothing, then it clicked…
He was dead.
Hawks's eyes widened in disbelief. When Ringmaster took out the bomb, he had expected to flee in retreat, but never in his life did he expect this.
The moment Ringmaster moved his finger, his eyes turned red, and his head fell off.
Separate from body, leaving headless corpse.
Turning his head towards Ken, who stood beside, he felt frightened.
'It worked,' Ken thought, thinking about how he had slashed Ringmaster's head ten seconds ago, ten seconds before he ever pushed the button. And he didn't even notice.
A slice so clean it transcended subconscious,
Killing man with silence, so silent it felt like death bringer, like reaper.
"So this…" Ken whispered in shock, "this is the power of a binding vow."
