Chapter 6 - chapter 06

Peeking from it time to time to see if any bird came.

"Shhh, there is some thing, " Sana said as she stood up to see.

"What?" Mimi tried to see, but Sana didn't let her.

"Don't scare the birds away."

" But let me see." Determined she stood up and Sparrow flew away by her sudden move.

" Mimi, I told you" , Sana looked at her friend with anger.

"But I just want to see… Wait, sit down." Mimi grabbed the hand of Sana and both squatted down again.

"What?" confused sana asked.

"Shhh.!!" Mimi put her finger on her friend's lip and nudged her head towards the trap, gesturing to see.

There was a beautiful bird. It was not a common bird they have seen before, a unique one indeed. The bird was not bigger than the Sparrow, but it has different feathers than the Sparrow. With a blood-red beak and eyes.

It has white feathers with ends of the tail the same as the color of the beak and the tips of the wings also look as if they were submerged in blood. A truly breathtaking sight to behold. Both girls became still, waiting for the bird to fall into their trap.

After the painful 15 minutes of their waiting, Bird finally fell inside the hole they had dug.

Both rushed towards the trap and, after confirming the bird got inside, Sana went to call her mother to get this bird out from the hole.

Soon, Rose walked out with a cloth in her hand.

"Alright, let's get the bird out."

" Here, put this around the trap so there is no gap from which the bird can escape." Rose instructed the girls and put her hand inside the trap.

With her skills, she got the bird in her hand within no time. After taking the bird out, it was revealed a small bird, not bigger than a sparrow.

"Wow, it's so beautiful," Sana exclaimed. The bird looked like a beautiful white canvas and if someone has splashed the red ink on it, making it a piece of art,

"how come I have never seen such a bird before, " Rose commented.

But putting this thought aside, she gently held the bird while looking at the both girls in front of her.

"I will put the bird in this cage. She took a bamboo cage and, after putting the bird inside, she turned towards the girls again.

"Just play with it for a while. Don't try to do anything and don't try to harm the bird at any cost. After playing for a while, you should release the bird, all right?"

"Don't worry mama, we both know, we don't cage the little beings." The both girls nodded and took the cage and started feeding the bird and chatting with it as if it was another companion of theirs.

"Mimi, I don't want to let this bird out. Look how beautiful it is." Sana said in reluctance.

"But we can't cage the free animals, you know Aunt Rose will beat us." Mimi reasoned with her, while putting a few rice grains towards the bird.

"Hey, hi little friend, I'm Mimi and this is my friend, Sana." Mimi tried to get the attention of the moody bird, which was not giving any response to them, even after putting some different grains inside the cage.

"Chirp." The bird looked at Mimi with its crimson eyes and it chirped again.

Then turned towards the Sana, giving her a deep look as if it was looking at them in a condescending way, then turned its head to the other side.

Sana walked towards the side where the bird turned its head. " Hey! Hi! I'm Sana." The bird, as if annoyed with their nonsense talking, flattered its wings and tried to fly, but soon realized it was closed from all the ways.

The bird chirped again after a failed attempt of escape and slowly sat down.

Both girls tried to feed it and play with it, but it didn't show any reaction after the first attempt of the escape.

"Mimi, what happened to him?" Sanna gently asked her friend.

The bird turned its head towards her and gave her a dark look, as if saying,

Don't you know what happened to me after caging me inside this cage? Do you expect me to be happy?

"Whoa! Look at him. Mimi, I think he is getting angry." Sana felt shivered down her spine by the way the bird was looking at her.

"I think he doesn't want to play with us. Let's just let him go." Bored by its unresponsiveness and moody behavior, Mimi agreed with her suggestion.

" Alright, let's set this free." Sanna opened the door

The lazy bird suddenly opened its eyes and with one swift motion, it flew out and for a few seconds, it circled above their head.

"What the heck?" Sanna felt something on her head and the damn bloody bird has just pooped on her head.

"Wait, you little devils, just pray I don't get my hands on you again and if I did, I will surely roast you alive and eat you." The bird swung towards her one last time and then flew away.

After playing for some time, Mimi decides to go back.

While walking back to her home,a familiar chirping echoed, and she turned only to see the same bird from before flying above her head.

"Hey, birdie! " She laughed while calling the bird,

"Chirp." As if understanding her words, the bird responded and flapped its wings before setting on her head.

"Hey!" She tried to shove the bird away with her hands, but after flying another round, it still sat down on her head again.

Gently, she reached her hand towards the bird and grabbed it. Bird tried to struggle, but it was useless, so, as if knowing this, stopped struggling for a moment.

"You naughty birdie! You also want to take revenge on me, as you took on Sana? Did you forget what Sana said? " She looked at the bird with fake seriousness and mischievousness.

The bird, as if he understood her words, started chirping in denial.

" Chirp, chirp! Let go of me, you psycho human!"

"Who are you calling a psycho human?... Wait! You can talk." astonished by his words and how well he said it in a human language.

She became stunned and her grip loosened on the bird, causing it to get out from her hands. The bird flew away, saving its life.

"Hey, come back, tell me, can you speak?" But the bird was already gone, leaving behind a confused Mimi. who was debating if she was listening right or she was hallucinating the whole scenario.

Dazed, she walked back to her home.
