Chapter 107 - Chapter 107: Amaterasu

[3rd POV]

Staring at Amaterasu, who looked exactly like the servant Tamamo-no-Mae from Fate, Morgan was genuine flabbergasted. Out of all the appearances that the woman could have had, this was definitely not one of them.

What made her even more shocked, was that Amaterasu was far stronger than she had been expecting. Like...much much much stronger. She had initially thought of her as being much weaker than her.

But Amaterasu was the strongest being she had ever seen, with only Ophis and Great Red surpassing her, and of course Morgan herself.

But it was dangerous just how inaccurate her estimations of the woman was, and that could have become very problematic if this had started a conflict between their factions. It could have caused the lives of a lot of people should be unprepared for Amaterasu.

But now that she looked at her, she'd be able to change her preparations if it came down to it. But something inside of her was telling her that this was not going to go that way. Not when she was...

Pouting.

She was pouting, full blown.

"Yasaka-Chan! Why didn't you tell me you were going to do something like this!?" Amaterasu barked, a mean pout on her face, and a glare being directed at the woman sitting next to her.

Yasaka seemed just as surprised with the woman as Morgan had been, telling her that this was definitely not normal, and Amaterasu shouldn't even be here right now. Not normally at least.

Morgan was beginning to wonder just what other Gods were changed, and if she would have to worry about the Hindu Gods as well, and if she did...

Did that mean the likes of Karna existed in this world?

That...was a dangerous thought.

What was even more dangerous, was the other name that came to her mind, when she thought of Gods and those that had a connection to them. A name that every Fate fan should know, and the name of the most arrogant man she had ever seen, but a man that deserved to be arrogant for he was the King of Heroes himself...

Gilgamesh.

Yeah...she decided the second she saw Tamamo that she would absolutely need to find out more about Gilgamesh, and if he currently existed in this world, she would need to do everything in her power to recruit him. Because the sort of power he possessed was not something she could just ignore.

Not in a million years.

It wasn't even the power that he held itself that was really a problem and would need to be dealt with. It was the objects the man held. A "Gate" of sorts that held billions and billions and billions of objects, and more and more are constantly appearing.

Gilgamesh held in his Gate, weapons that quite literally inspired future ones. Like the weapon that inspired Gae Bolg. While also holding ancient artifacts of immense and dangerous power. All of that was held by him, and some of the weapons he held were...not exactly easy to deal with.

There was one weapon that he had that Morgan had to be careful about, should he really exist in this world. For it was one of the very few things out there that she was absolutely certain could seal her away and weaken her.

Enkidu, the chains of heaven.

Chains specially made to bind Gods and those that held divinity.

Someone like Morgan.

The more Morgan stared at Amaterasu, the more she understood that there might be other Gods and Divine beings out there that were similar to their Fate counterparts. Which means she has to start her plans up early, and more importantly, she needs to find out how they are getting here.

And soon.

"Amaterasu-Sama? What're you doing here?" Yasaka asked, completely baffled that the woman was here. She had never seen her do something like this, and frankly, it was completely unlike her to do something like this.

Making her very lost.

"What am I doing here? You know why I'm here! You're joining this...new faction! And you didn't even tell me! Did our friendship mean nothing? I even made friendship bracelets that one time!" Amaterasu said, looking hurt.

"Friendship bracelets?" Morgan confusedly asked Yasaka, who blinked.

"You mean the artifact you had given me? I-I thought that that was something divine in nature, so I had it placed in a vault" Yasaka responded, not knowing that the bracelet had been something like that.

Amaterasu looked like she could cry when she heard the response. While the others in the area were just staring at the Goddess in complete befuddlement. Not a single one of them expecting...this out of her.

'Is she really pouting about a friendship bracelet?' Morgan thought, very lost on why she was acting like this. Sure, she knew that Tamamo no Mae in Fate was pretty upbeat and childish at times, but this was...an entirely different level of childish.

It was kind of adorable to be honest. Strange, but adorable.

"I don't remember her ever acting like that the last times we've met. And she definitely didn't look like that. You think this is the real version of her, and what I've met before was just a cover or something?" Serafall asked, as

Morgan looked at her.

"No idea, but I'd assume so. I'm just going off of Yasaka's reaction, but obviously she's never acted like this in the past, telling me that that is the case in this situation. Which is very interesting if it's true, as that means that Amaterasu has never shown her true self before now" Morgan responded, agreeing that that was most likely the case.

"And is that a problem at all? Her hiding I mean" Sirzechs questioned, as Morgan silently glanced at Yasaka and Amaterasu who were basically bickering at this point, the rest of the people in the room watching them with deadpans on their faces.

"Well beyond the fact that she is easily the strongest God in the world besides myself, I'd say it's fine. And I do mean the strongest, when I say that. Not even Shiva compares to her. I'm honestly quite confused on how that is possible, but I suspect that there is quite a lot about the Goddess that we do not know about" Morgan responded, their eyes widening in shock at this information.

If that was the case, it meant that Amaterasu was the fourth strongest being in the world, and was surpassed only be the dragon Gods and Morgan herself. Not only that, it means that she was likely just as strong, if not stronger than the previous Biblical God.

This would either be a giant issue, or a boon. It all mattered on how Amaterasu reacted to their merger, and if she herself would be willing to join in on it.

"You know if you really wanted to join this alliance of whatever it is, you could have just asked me!" Amaterasu said with a mean pout still on her face, locking eyes with Yasaka who once again looked surprised.

That was becoming an incredibly common occurrence with the utterly confusing woman that was standing in the middle of the room.

"How was I supposed to know that? And would you truly have accepted the Yokai joining the Heavenly Demonic faction? Not just as an ally, but as a permanent part of it, a merger? Your entire pantheon has been treating us with immense bias for years now, Amaterasu. Treating those from the clans as better than us, superior. While we - who have worshiped you for thousands of years - were getting tossed aside" Yasaka responded, beginning to grow more and more irritated with the woman.

She seemed so...naive.

'...Something about this doesn't seem right. She seems much more naive than a Goddess of her age should. Not only that, but she is acting differently than one should too. It's almost as if...' Morgans thoughts trailed off, wondering if there was someone that was pulling the strings.

Purposely making her ignorant of the actions of her own pantheon. Akin to how Ophis was unknowingly being manipulated because of her own naivety.

Who though? It had to be someone from her own pantheon, but now it looked like she was going to have to figure it out.

"Of course! You're my best friend, Yasaka-Chan! Why would I care? And I didn't know about all that bias stuff, Susanoo told me that you were both being treated equally. Meaning he must have lied to me!" Amaterasu said, an angry expression on her face.

Hearing the mention of Susanoo, Morgan blinked as realization set in. And it wasn't just her either, it was the other leaders that realized the same thing. As the all glanced at each other, one thought on their minds.

'She's not getting manipulated by one member of her pantheon...'

'...She's getting manipulated by all of them!'
