Chapter 317 - Journey to the golden city(3)

Leyk didn't really care about it at all, but the three had been intimidated, they had realized that, apart from perhaps the aloof boy who seemed to be welcome to even the idea of death, they would not be able to win, and with that, Avere realized deep in his mind, they had given up dominion over the conversation, giving him full control and the higher leverage.

That leverage being their life, he mumbled into a non-existent beard, as silent as the fart of an ant, making sure none of the three were capable of hearing it, though the aloof boy turned around, almost as if he did hear something.

"Before we get anywhere else, I have a supposed way of getting to a city in this place." he said, getting the attention of the three people, the aloof boy silently huffing a bit more air than normal, his other self, Leyk, making a face that would have perhaps made some other people fall over, showing that the other him was truly quite a bit stronger, just as Cades memories told him.

Without even realizing it he already held the sun-dial he had analysed during the few minutes spend under Arges cross, knowing it's tiniest details, feeling the nails around the slight elevation of the compass that was enforced with glass, and presenting it to the new group and Leyk who was feeling exhilarated at the process of meeting someone else as was easy to tell from his disgustingly handsome smile.

"Where did you get that from?" asked Leyk after a short moment, his voice sounding slightly confused, but still being rather good for the ears and seductive had he been a woman, or a gay man for that matter, or even someone looking for love, he was certain of that, though it disgusted Avere that he even thought of that.

"I got it from a guy that called himself the messenger" he began, letting in the truth but excluding a lot of information in case he wanted to use it later on in exchange for something his other self might know, or perhaps if he had to hold it away from those three new guys they had just met and with which it was still very awkward to communicate, though he guessed that that was pretty normal under the circumstances.

"But for now, I think we all have to agree that we do not want to fight." he said as such, once more infusing the words subconsciously with the light of dominion and calming down the burly man and the vampiric woman with great ease, the two finally having completely lowered their guard, and starting to ask new questions, now the woman talking freely with Avere as the other two looked at Leyk who remained stoic and silent, a true gift for the eyes in some ways, his slightly violet eyes burning a hole into the head of whoever they were directed at.

"Okay" the girl began reluctantly, her hands now hanging low, " I'm just going to assume that you two are wanderers, not reborn undead monsters about to kill u-" "Yeah..." the burly man interrupted, causing the girl to hit him in the stomach once and make his whole body shiver from the impact.

"Then, let's tell us, how do we get to this city? If there even is a city?" Kehit finished, realizing that she had not even introduced herself or the others yet quickly continuing, setting aside her question for a tiny bit while taking a glance at Leyk who was currently talking to the other two, but mainly about random things as he had not really been given information about cities or what to do after he got out, simply having grown absurdly strong compared to the average being of his rank.

"I am Kehit, that," she pointed at the big burly blonde in black latex that had made Avere silently gag when he had first seen it, " it Ohrren," she pointed at the aloof guy, " and that is Akrisen.. by the way..." she awkwardly ended it with Avere already starting his explanation.

Avere pointed at the compass on the sun dial that was currently pointing right at the opposite of where he was standing, into the distance where there were now a few dozen chains visible that had not been there before, making it impossible to know which one was the real one by mere instinct or knowledge of the previous way, relieving a little more fear that Kehit had been hiding in her heart, the bigger part having been taken over by fear of fighting such opponents as the two that had originated from Cades.

She instinctively understood as well, nodding to the two guys who also understood, well, at least the burly guy seemed to understand, silently nodding and breaking a conversation about where they had been previously they had been holding with Leyk who had just started to inspect his own body, lifting the shirt a bit and most likely discovering a defined eight-pack from the way he was looking.

"Then.. at least for now we'll follow you.." she said begrudgingly, but also sounding fairly relieved in some way or another she said, Leyk perking up, seemingly intent on asking something that Avere already knew the entailment of, having heard the great pillar of experiences say something about the other him deciding to become a vampire, though he had not thought it to begin so soon.

"Say, " he begun, seemingly trying to tell a small story with the others turning their heads and starting to listen in to what he had maybe gone through, a story of the golden vampire he had fought, of one that stood after her head had been cut off, and his own desire to gain power and strength turning into what would be a small tirade, Kehit listening intently.

"When I was going through the trials I fought many a being, I killed a few ehetrians" he nodded at Avere, "that guy also saw that still, or at least I think he did..." he paused for a moment, gesturing at Avere's wings that they had somehow not begun talking about yet." but anyways after I had thought a powerful magician capable of controlling the surrounding area I had met a vampire."
