Chapter 316 - Journey to the golden city(1)

There stood a seven foot tall burly man covered head to toe in latex, his face free revealing ears as big as his head, perhaps even bigger, comical and absurd had they not been oozing with a disgusting orange goo, there stood a woman with yellow pupils and orange iris's, with white teeth, showing that her fangs were longer than was normal, almost hissing, her hands ready to pounce at him, a spell already being cast from what he was able to tell.

The woman had black hair, short, and wavy, loose, unkempt, but ironically very fitting to her body and her temperament from what he'd been able to tell in the few minutes he had been alive, a long hooded robe open to the front showing a outfit made to hide in the night, which, one more was very fitting, and the three people, one rather small, about 5'10 boy with long hair covered in a brownish crust so that only part of his dizzyingly black eyes were able to be seen, the last one, and perhaps the most aloof one as he had not yet picked up a weapon in retaliation, whereas even the big and annoying looking man suddenly had a serious expression and was wielding a bow as big as the woman next to him who stood at about 5'11, a single inch taller than the boy whose age he wasn't able to easily determine.

Surrounding them were a sea of corpses buried under thin rubble and silver liquid that slowly began constricting to a single place, not that far away without them noticing, the trees in the area, countless, as far as the tired and mostly unused eyes of the body that had just awakened were able to see, a sun shining from above, made of silver light, the surrounding feeling heavy and full of pressure, as if countless people were watching them.

Leyk had awoken first, and to be honest, he did not view these children, the blonde guy that annoyed him already about at the beginning of the transcribe-rank, the woman, the being that was probably a vampire just as that golden monster he had fought during his trials, though that did open his mind to an interesting idea, about the peak of the transcribe rank, and the aloof and seemingly uncaring boy that had still not shown any reaction to Leyk's sudden moving, the sudden movements and actions of what still looked like a corpse, at a rank he did not find easy to determine, something hindering him from even completely acknowledging he was there.

To the three warriors that had just arrived on this island a hour ago, finding that the chain that had led there had suddenly vanished, with the big guy called Ohrren unable to hear anything outside of this place it seemed like a prepared ambush, them believing to at least be able to defend themselves, aside from perhaps Akrisen who still stood uncaring and without even trying to defend themselves, black eyes devouring all the surrounding heat and tension as Leyk looked at her, his hand feeling at his right ear instinctively, feeling the small black earring, rounded edges, about a third of an inch across, imbedded somewhere around his ear, realizing that it's form had changed ever so slightly, understanding he did not have a blade right now, but knowing after a short while that pieces of flesh were hanging from his face, remembering that he was a corpse right now, and finally hearing the vampire girl, Kehit, speak the first words, perhaps her being the leader and trying to deescalate the situation from exploding into an all-out clash they would most likely be losing.

"What are you?" the girl asked with an agitated voice.

As Leyk pondered what to say, the mage of the group, the vampire, seemingly about to attack out of the tension, he felt his body change quickly, false skin covering his rotten self, his eyes that had long since fallen out but somehow still been working now filling with new matter, his height changing slightly as well, until he was someone again, though he did not know how he looked.

Despite this, at least this unwilling show of change was enough to make the new group of people he had met, an occurrence that would have normally caused him great joy, to calm down a bit, the aloof boy now seeming slightly interested for but a mere instant before lowering their head once more and staring at nothing but a single thing thousands of miles away without even realizing they were looking at anything, with the girl even sizing him up and her brain seemingly not entirely rambling it all together.

Well, he did have Manug's power now, the power of absolute beauty, so it was to be expected his appearance and form would weird them out because of the sheer perfection... which, now that he thought about it, would be very useful for when he was fighting other people that might be swayed by his current appearance.

Nevertheless he did answer, his voice resounding deeply, like a woodcutter of the forest, and calm like a lake, he said his two bits and awaited the answer of the female vampire, finally realizing that the contracting silver amongst the few hands shooting up out of the ground but not moving, was starting to form a body akin to a ehetrian without wings.

"I am Leyk" he said simply, putting out his right hand, continuing on, "nice to meet you." he smiled in a way he hoped to be emphasizing whatever new features he now wielded, after all, beauty was a way to calm people down as well, Manug had sometimes been able to do that to him, be it only very slightly.

The three seemed so calm down ever so slightly, the man not putting down his weapon, the boy note even caring in the faintest bit, but Kehit at least pausing and seemingly about to introduce themselves before they heard a new voice coming from behind the three, a voice that was a bit hollow and seemingly tired, as apathetic as the boy that had not cared even when the serene sound came from behind him and Leyk wore a slight smile.

"And I am Avere" said the ehetrian standing there, his black wings spreading far out and widening the eyes of the three that were now looking upon him, feeling the pressure from two people that should be able to easily beat them, aside of , just perhaps, the boy.
