Hela stood at the edge of the Rainbow Bridge, a hand placed on her hip as she sensed her own restored strength. Having already dismissed her helmet, her dark hair flowed freely. Slowly, she turned her head to gaze forward, observing a massive assembly of Asgardian troops and airships arranged in full battle formation.
"I've noticed you understand nothing about my identity!" she declared to the assembled forces.
She placed both hands on her hips and formally introduced herself.
"I am Hela! Odin's firstborn child! Commander of the Asgardian armies! Rightful heir to the throne! I am the Goddess of Death!"
The Asgardian military silently maintained their battle formations, their spears directed toward Hela as a unified response to her declaration. Hogun stood at the vanguard of the formation, directly confronting her. Hela nodded dismissively, paying little attention to their defensive posture as she continued her proclamation.
"My father has perished! Those princes have vanished as well! You should be grateful! We were once the symbol of absolute power throughout this universe! No civilization dared challenge our supreme authority! But Odin limited himself to the Nine Realms! Our destiny is to rule over all creation! I have returned to restore our former glory! Kneel before your rightful queen! Join me on this glorious conquest!"
Hogun observed Hela's passionate speech with an unmoved expression, regarding her with cold suspicion. "Regardless of your identity! Regardless of your past actions! Surrender immediately! Otherwise, do not blame us for what follows!"
Hela seemed exasperated, not expecting the soldiers to remain so uncomprehending after her explanation. "Regardless of my identity? Did you not hear what I just declared?"
Hogun responded coldly, "This is your final warning!"
Shaking her head with visible disappointment, Hela replied, "I anticipated you would be pleased to see me!"
Hogun readied his meteor hammer, the spiked iron ball at its end extending numerous deadly points. Observing their hostile preparations, Hela sighed with resignation. She understood that this Asgard bore no resemblance to the one from her era. Her past achievements had been erased by Odin's revised history, and these warriors had never heard of her legendary service. While she would prefer to avoid violence, reality demanded decisive action.
"Very well then!" Hela placed her hand to her head, and as she drew it across, her helmet instantly materialized, covering her hair.
Hogun swung his meteor hammer with practiced skill, and the Asgardian army behind him rose as one, advancing toward Hela. She fired several Night Sky Swords toward Hogun, but he expertly deflected them all before charging her position and swinging his weapon with lethal intent. Hela leaned backward and sideways to avoid the hammer, then delivered a powerful kick that sent Hogun flying into a wall, causing the structure to collapse on impact.
After defeating Hogun with a single blow, she regarded the charging Asgardian army with cold calculation, two swords of midnight materializing in her hands.
"Charge!!!" the army roared, rushing toward Hela with fearless determination.
Hela swung her Night Sky Sword in a wide arc, striking down the leading warrior, then gracefully dodged an incoming longsword with a fluid front flip. Before landing, she kicked two Asgardian soldiers to the ground. With a casual wave of her hand, she projected several night sky swords, eliminating all who had approached her. Raising her left hand, she unleashed another volley that not only eliminated more soldiers but also destroyed two airships maintaining their distance.
The Asgardian army charged without fear, but they were systematically eliminated by the numerous night sky swords she projected with effortless gestures. Soon, the battlefield around her was littered with fallen warriors.
Recognizing that close combat was ineffective, the remaining soldiers kept their distance while airships opened concentrated fire from above. Under the bombardment, Hela assumed a defensive stance before launching Night Sky Swords skyward with deadly precision. Five airships exploded in brilliant fireballs and crashed to the ground.
An Asgardian soldier managed to thrust his spear into Hela's shoulder, but the weapon failed to penetrate her supernatural defenses. Enraged, Hela increased the speed and ferocity of her attacks. Despite the legendary courage of the Asgardian soldiers, their fearless assault only allowed one or two warriors to occasionally reach her and land strikes. One soldier raised his sword, aiming for Hela's head, but the sharp edges of her helmet deflected the blow, and she retaliated by striking him down.
The perspective shifted to an aerial view, revealing the remaining soldiers charging Hela. She balanced on one leg, leaning her upper body backward, and simultaneously projected Night Sky Swords from both hands and her raised foot. Within moments, nearly all the Asgardian soldiers had been eliminated.
She casually grasped one of the last soldiers, shook her head with slight regret, and strangled him effortlessly. Seizing a sword from a fallen warrior, she caught it expertly. She kicked another charging soldier to his death, swung her new sword to impale another, then hurled the soldier she had captured and fired a Night Sky Sword to eliminate him mid-flight.
A soldier pierced Hela's abdomen with his spear, but she remained completely unaffected and shattered the weapon with a casual strike. Catching the flying spear tip, she used it to impale the soldier who had attacked her. The final warrior refused to surrender and attempted an attack from behind, but she detected his approach and pierced his vital arteries with the spear point.
When the violence finally ceased, only corpses and destruction remained across the plaza.
-Real World-
"Oh! My God! Those brave soldiers..." May Parker, in the first-generation Spider-Man universe, covered her mouth in horror as she witnessed Hela's systematic slaughter of Asgard's defenders.
"They were all courageous warriors!" Ben Parker sighed with profound sadness.
Peter Parker clenched his fists tightly. This was a completely one-sided massacre. He realized that Hela could never be injured while on Asgard, let alone become exhausted. Human wave tactics were utterly meaningless against her supernatural abilities.
Thor's expression turned grim as he observed Hela butchering his loyal soldiers. Those warriors had served alongside him in countless battles over many years, not to mention the legendary Warriors Three. Consumed by fury, he departed the base without hesitation. Stepping outside, he used Stormbreaker to summon the Rainbow Bridge and returned immediately to Asgard.
Heimdall, positioned at the control console, nodded in acknowledgment as Thor strode angrily from the Rainbow Bridge terminus.
When Thor met Heimdall, he remembered that Loki had declared Heimdall a wanted criminal on the sky screen, prompting him to issue a warning: "Heimdall! Father would never place you on any wanted list!"
Heimdall nodded with understanding. "Yes! I understand! I must have realized that truth as well, which explains my disappearance! I have been waiting for your return!"
