[ Chapter II (2): "INSOMNIACS" ]

[ "Ughh- my head." ]

Jo Mullein, a diligent Student and first-year of House Slytherin. In actuality one of the first-ever Students of Hogwarts, could be seen having a pained expression, dark circles under her eyes.

As she now wakes up in her desk; her eyes darting about her dark room which is only lit by a candlelight besides her, and nothing else. She couldn't help but realized that she may have done it again.

That action is her staying up late, because of her wanting to study a new novel spell that she learnt about from the book in the Library. This being the 9th time it happened since her admissions into Hogwarts.

And it hadn't even been that long, only about a month— or 33 days to be exact since that. Something-something that she kept doing since finding the joy of learning Magic, and also because through it can she materialize her dreams.

[ 4:12 ]

She glanced slightly at the side and noticed her alarm clock', something which she brought her from home. Which thankfully functions, unlike her tablet which didn't.

She was warned beforehand that it wouldn't work fully, or any gadgets using electricity, as the magic waves or something like that blocks any other waves from entering or leaving. As the Wizarding World is in an entirely new plain of existence.

Shocking, it even shocked her parents to near death. But thankfully with as much perseverance as possible, and an encouragement from their eccentric 13-year-old daughter that thinks like an adult, she was finally allowed into attending the magical school of Hogwarts.

If that didn't work out, then there is always the possibility of going to a normal highschool the next year, no pressure.

But she believes she wouldn't be able to do that after experiencing the novelty of the Wizarding World.

Running into walls that phases through for certain magically aligned individual, badass!

A train station especially designated for young Wizards and Witches to ride on and socialize before going to Hogwarts, awesome!

And oh, the Wizarding World which is reminiscent of an old prehistoric world that has dinosaurs roaming in it like it's nothing... How can she even start? Her sketchbook is already filled to the brim with such sketches of monsters.

Feathery monsters, scaly monsters, flying monsters, swimming monsters, teleporting monsters, unique and recognizable but not at all monsters. This world have it all.

Her parents would surely love this world if they knew beforehand, heck, she believes they would have studied also if they found out that this world is THAT.

Just 2 more months, she needs just to wait until December— as for in December there would be a Christmas Break, wherein they, all Students of Hogwarts will be able to go back home to celebrate Christmas.

Her tablet which is filled to the brim with videos, and is still being updated by her as the day goes by would surely freak her parents out.

She couldn't wait seeing their expressions, but that's not the case at the moment, as the tired lady then went back to sleep, this time on her bed as she then snores minutes later. Nothing being able to stop her eyelids from going down, and fantasizing being a Witch riding in New York using her Broom.

A Broom that she owns. Especially because at the moment, Hogwarts is financially broke, it only having about 5 Brooms in total, that Students needs to switch turns in to practice on, and to learn on.

Also testified in how this school is a rundown small castle, rather than the prestigious castle it was built up in her dreams. Not that she and others mind though, as she and others found out that Hogwarts is just newly built...

To the point that they are the first Students in it, what an honor, but also lonely sometimes. Still, it is something that she could brag on to others in the future.

Also in how there's only one Professor, which is also the Headmaster teaching Students— exactly 44 Students in total, about Transfiguration, Potions, Charms, Herbology, Alchemy, Flying, and lastly General Knowledge; 7 in total.

In the span of 5 days, for 5 hours in one week. How does the Professor even does that? With enthusiasm and way that balances both fun and informative; it blows her young mind at all.

Still, that said person did in fact built a private institution in the middle of the prehistoric world, separate from her world apparently and teach students about Magic. What else couldn't he do?

Sleeping in her bed, Slytherin Student— Sojourner "Jo" Mullein dreamt of showing off what she learnt to her parents and clean their slightly dirty house with a single flick of her Wand... That is, if she finally learnt that wonderful Cleaning Spell she'd studying on about; one that caused her to stay up late.

[ "Like. THAT!" ]

Felix shrugged his shoulders in response as he averted his gaze from the Knight who's back is against a book, and is trying to fall asleep. But couldn't. The Horse Golem is sleeping though besides him.

On the other hand, Felix the ever insomniac couldn't sleep just like the Knight, as it then focuses on his table molding clay trying his best to create more Golems in hope to have varieties for his class...

Which is about 5 hours ish, or something that close from starting. If you looked closely, he spent about 4 hours in this endeavor and there is no results to show.

I guess you could say that the Knight, and Horse Golems are just lucky instances wherein he got lucky. I guess the lesson here is do something about 1,000 times repeatedly, then 1 or 2 of those would be a win... Pretty bad winrate but... Better than none he guess.

Felix with dark circles under his eyes couldn't help but continue molding clay in his desk, which is only lit by candlelight, as the windows outside shows that it's night; the cold breeze oftentimes colliding with his skin, causing him to shiver.

Not that he cares though, as he continues working on his project. If successful then he would have things to show for class later, he wants to Students to be at awe, and take up Alchemy seriously as so did he.

He just really couldn't believe that this Alchemy comes in the form of clay molding, basic hand-to-hand without any equipment used to make life easier. Apparently says on the instructions, nothing but hands.

Which infuriates him, causing him to repeatedly fail at what he is doing. He created a Knight, accidentally, also a Horse, accidentally. Now he is trying to create a simple folk, in his image of course, all failing. For the nth time now.

Wasting about 100 worth of Credits, something he can gain easily speaking for about 5 minutes to the children. But that is still 100 Credits wasted on him just trying to mold something into shape. What's the problem, is he the problem? Why can't he make a simple clay model that is only about a few inches... Not wanting to think about this, he set his work aside and drank a Sleeping Potion that he brewed.

Him not having any formal education in it caused the simple Potion to have side-effects thought, from what he read it says it'll likely cause sleep paralysis for about 5 minutes with a 10% of it happening, also 10% of not being able to sleep at all...

As a response, Felix just didn't bother and rested his head on his desk. He does have a bed, but his body have been so reprogramed that he now finds sleeping in his desk more comfortable than the much comfortable alternative.

Not like it'll change much at all, it'll only give him about an aching shoulders and joints that feels like tearing off after he woke up. Nothing a simple spell could fix.

So after chugging the bottle in one-go, Felix wasn't able to completely finish it, as he then felt drowsiness enter him. His eyes shutting, as he laid his face on a book, nearby the Knight and Horse Golem both of which is in deep sleep.

[ "I can't sleep..." ]

John Constantine, a Slytherin Student couldn't help but roll around in his bed, tossle and even groan to himself. The child that never knew love, never knew affection, never knew comfort couldn't believe how his simple life turned into.

The blonde boy stared at his ruff hands, he couldn't believe that after days of eating food out of dumpsters that he would be able to eat 6 star dishes that even the elite from his world aren't able to eat; dinosaur meat, giant lobster dish, fish that are in weird shapes but delicious, and many more.

Who would have thought, definitely not him, as a month back he just ran away from home after speaking out of turn to his father. Then getting his ass beat, what a drunk, what an asshole. He thought of his father, he still can't believe that running away was the best decision of his life.

As days later, he then got picked up by a weird-looking somewhat eccentric, somewhat panda-looking man and adopted him like a son, or younger brother at that; technically as a Scholar Student, but more on as a longlost relative in how he treats all the Students.

Felix Harp... That's the name he gave all the hopeless children, taught them Magic, taught them how to socialize, gave them hope, reignited their childhood fantasies and turned it into reality. Who would have thought that Narnia exist, but a thousand more times beautiful.

He definitely wouldn't, none of them 44 would have thought. But now... Now they are living inside it, in a beautiful world that only ask of them to have fun inside it.

Given a Magical Wand only told in stories, then taught how to perform miraculous feats that would have been branded as wonderful and heretical by sone people, then provided shelter, food, entertainment by that said guy... How in the hell wouldn't any of them be suspicious at first.

John Constantine definitely was the suspicious type, but, after staying for about a week. His defense completely broke, and now his malnourished body, is now healthier than ever, as he socialize with children his age.

Learn about subjects he is actually interested in, mostly Potions, Alchemy, and Flying also as he loves the feeling of soaring about in the air. Then falling from a high angle, then rising up again. Fridays are his most favorite days of the week due to that single fact alone.

He couldn't help but stare about at his room's ceiling, thought cramped, in the future it would be spacious, that was promised to him and the other Students by their Professor slash Headmaster.

Which is incredible, some of them have never had a room before. Now they do, without parents supervision, without paying rent, without taxes, without anything actually. Only downside is that there's no electricity, that being compensated by being given colorful candlelights that burns for days on end. So no fuss there.

What is only asked of them is to study about 5-6 hours a day, 25-30 hours every 5 days, with the rest of the time given to them. There is about 168 hours in a week, back in their original world they have homeworks, or subjects that they don't care about.

Thus wasting their time, time seemingly moving slow as they enter a class back there. But in here, there is no homeworks, there is only about 7 subjects, and time in class seems to move quick; faster than expected, to the point that they groan each time that class ends.

Realizing that he wouldn't be able to sleep normally, John went and took a Potion nearby, this Potion being a Sleeping Potion he has been testing on, proven and approved by his Professor, albeit with some side effects.

Not that he cares though, as he drank it in one gulp. The foul taste entering his mouth, sometimes he even wonders, is there a Potion out there that is deliciou-
