I was finally able to convince him, since we didn't have much time before grandma got back home, we needed to find her fast. Kai's motorcycle was parked outside and we sped off. I had never been on one before. It was completely terrifying but not as terrifying as losing my Thali. After about a 10-minute ride, we parked outside a concrete building.

Kai handed me a ski mask, the kind that robbers wear during break-ins.

Knocking twice slowly and then three times fast, a tall and muscular man with broad shoulders opened the door. Kai and the man shake hands and, just like that, we are allowed in. We walked down a flight of stairs. We came down to a basement where a couple of scary-looking men greeted us.
• Who the fuck is this guy?
One of the men said, making a mean-looking expression.
• This is my cousin Rico. He's a freshling. He needs to see how shit goes down. Ya feel me?

He walked up to me with an intense glare. He just stood in front of me for what felt like an eternity.
"He knows! "I'm sure he knows something up, shit shit shit shit shiiiiit!" I think to myself before he places a hand on my shoulder and goes in even closer to the point where I smell his breath reaking of alcohol, cigarettes with a sprinkle of dog shit.

He smiled creepily while licking the top of his teeth. "Fucking hell, he's disgusting".
Opening a sealed door, Kai walks in front of me together with the men. My legs started to shake before witnessing what was in that room. A room of concrete floors and walls, stained with the blood of my dear sister. She sat tied to a table of steel with two men standing over her doing things I can't bare to process with in my head. I grit my teeth so hard that I feel a drop of blood running down the mask. Kai puts an arm around my shoulder and gets close to my ear.
• Tobi, stay calm, they'll kill you, me and your sister. They're all heavily armed.
My body started going numb, but I could almost feel the heartbeat of everyone in the room. I could hear them breathe, even the way their thoughts sent sparks of electricity in their brains. I started panicking, badly. Kai seemed to notice, and I could tell he was worried, but that didn't matter if I had to do something, anything.

One of the men grabbed me and walked me towards the table. I HAVE TO DO SOMETHING, ANYTHING. Why, why? Why am I always so damn helpless? I don't care what happens to me anymore, but leave Thalia out of it. I'm pathetic. I deserve whatever happens to me but not her. She hasn't ever wronged anyone.
