Chapter 333 - Chapter 334 - The First Civil War (II)

"I always knew about the Chaos Gods, but only when you stand before one do you understand how insignificant you are." Alysanne's thought upon meeting Slaanesh for the first time.

Alysanne was aboard the Sardaukar's Gloriana-class battleship, The Sun. Aside from the Death Star, which was still under construction and would be true weapons of war, this was the pinnacle of humanity.

A twenty-kilometer-long spaceship, the apex of military engineering. Each Primarch had received a Gloriana-class battleship, which served as the bases for each Legion. Not even Alysanne could have one, which forced her, for the first time in her life, to act like a spoiled girl and beg her father to build one for her.

Unfortunately, she was kicked out of her father's room the next moment, his words still echoing in her mind: "Stop acting like a spoiled girl and save your money; build your own."

Recalling this, Alysanne's face showed a trace of dissatisfaction. Money? Imperial Credits were mainly used to maintain her dragons and those of her brothers and sisters who were in her faction.

Besides, even if she saved money for five hundred years, she would never reach the terrifying number of one trillion Imperial Credits.

Each Gloriana-class battleship was a terrible drain on the Imperium; her father had spent at least half of the taxes collected over a thousand years to build twenty-two Gloriana-class battleships for all twenty-two Primarchs.

"Princess Regent." Hearing the strong, calm, and even indifferent voice, Alysanne turned and saw an extremely tall man with short hair and a stern look on his face.

It was the Primarch of the Sardaukar Legion, Sigismund, known as Iron Fist.

"Lord Sigismund, it's good to see you again. Unfortunately, we are not at an opportune moment, or I would invite you for a drink." Alysanne greeted the Primarch who had trained her when she was a child, still in the Red Keep.

"Killing enemies of the God-Emperor is always a good time, Princess." Sigismund looked at Alysanne with a gentler gaze. He had practically watched the girl grow up, and having no sons or daughters, he truly had a special affection for the girl he had trained.

Hearing his words, Alysanne couldn't help but think of the conversation she had with her father the day before. To prevent humanity from becoming lazy, this type of disaster would occur for a long time.

Although it was cruel, it was a cruelty against oneself that would keep humanity at the top of all races in the universe. What race would do this to its own people? Alysanne knew that the human race could do this, especially with her father as a leader.

"By my father's order, I will be your Vice-General until the end of the operation, Primarch Sigismund." Alysanne said, entering a military stance as she struck her closed fist against her own chest.

"Then I leave you in command of the operations." Sigismund spoke in a calm tone as he sat in the main seat of The Sun's Command Bridge, a black and particularly uncomfortable throne to sit on.

Others might not know, but Sigismund knew that the God-Emperor wanted to train Alysanne and all his other sons and daughters in the art of war, not just theoretical lessons, but practical ones too.

Alysanne was surprised for a moment; she never thought she would actually command the entire operation. After all, she was a complete novice when it came to controlling armies and could lose many lives before being able to control the First Legion.

"The Princess doesn't need to worry about making mistakes; if it were a war between races, this wouldn't be possible, but since it's against normal humans, there won't be much chaos." Sigismund commented, seeing her surprised expression.

The princess nodded, remembering that the heretics were nothing more than normal humans, without powers, only with long longevity.

"Primarch Sigismund, we are ready to enter the Warp." The controller's voice sounded on the Command Bridge, making Alysanne look at him with interest. She had never traveled through the Warp before and was certainly curious about the home of the most terrifying existences in the universe.

"We will begin the operation." Sigismund spoke in a calm tone, his eyes fixed on the cold, dark space through the window.

With Sigismund's words, gigantic blue portals manifested in the space in front of the Imperial Fleet. The psychic energy in the air seemed to pulse like a seismic and rhythmic wave of energy. Alysanne couldn't help but feel comfortable with the amount of psychic energy in the air. Although it wasn't her strong suit, she still felt comfortable in the high-intensity psychic environment.

Seeing this, Sigismund couldn't help but think that the Emperor's sons and daughters were truly extraordinary. The Adeptus Astartes needed to train long hours to get used to the high-intensity psychic environment to be able to fight at full strength. But the Princess Regent seemed like a fish returning to the sea, showing how great the girl's talent was.

With Sigismund's orders, the entire Imperial Fleet of the First Astarte Legion advanced and entered the blue portals, disappearing from Visenya's Wall, the Wall of Planets.

Looking at the chaotic and mad space from the window, Alysanne finally understood why her father said that the Warp was the chaotic reflection of the universe. There was no order, laws, or even the concept of anarchy; the entire place personified the word madness. It was as if this whole universe was created from a child's inconsistent scribble.

"Oh, daughter of Aenar."

Suddenly, Alysanne heard a curious voice; she didn't know if it was male or female. Looking around, she frowned, seeing no one.

"What a beautiful girl."

"Your father must be very proud of you."

"He spoke about our beautiful relationship."

"Perhaps not, after all, he hates me~"

The voice continued to sound in her mind, making Alysanne frown even more, as accompanied by the voice, a feeling of oppression she had never felt in her life. This feeling almost made her bow.

"It seems he didn't talk about me, at least not personally." Slaanesh commented with a laugh; she looked at Alysanne with a gaze full of interest and obsession. She liked to see people similar to Aenar, and Alysanne had a similar appearance to her father, though less so compared to her lover, Aegon.

"You are a Chaos God." Alysanne spoke in a cold, indifferent, and calm tone. Her eyes scanned the surroundings, looking for any sign of the Chaos God.

"Don't try to look; I'm still in my egg; I'm a beautiful baby." Slaanesh's voice sounded again in Alysanne's mind, making the princess frown. With Slaanesh's voice, she began to hear babbling and insane murmurs.

Each word carried the temptation of a demon and the insanity of a madman, but there was something in common between the two voices: they all wished to make her submit and accept the true power of the Universe, the Ruinous Powers of Chaos!

"Get out of my mind." Alysanne spoke in a cold tone; she felt the pressure on her shoulders growing stronger and stronger; she had never felt such a strong sense of oppression.

"Slaanesh, it's not polite of you to try to corrupt my lovely daughter." Suddenly, a man's voice sounded behind Alysanne, making the woman's eyes widen, feeling all the pressure disappear and a warm feeling of security cover her being.

"Aenar, you're still so beautiful, hot, and incredibly alluring." Slaanesh spared no compliments with Aenar's arrival.

Aenar's lips twisted slightly, hearing Slaanesh's voice. He knew more than anyone that Slaanesh was currently in his son's bed, having fun as if there were no tomorrow.

"Get out." When the word was pronounced by Aenar, Slaanesh's voice was simply banished from Alysanne's mind in an instant.

"Don't believe a word said by a Chaos God; 90% of them are lies, and 10% are brainwashing. All they want is to control and corrupt, regardless of the method used." Aenar didn't miss the chance and taught his daughter in a calm and profound tone.

"Father, does everyone who enters the Warp also receive a visit from a Chaos God?" Alysanne asked with a confused tone.

"Of course not; only those who are sensitive to psychic energy attract the Chaos Gods." Aenar commented in a calm tone, looking at the chaotic colors of the Warp.

"I'm leaving, and remember to stay away from strange things, especially in the Warp." Aenar said before disappearing.

Alysanne rolled her eyes and muttered to herself, "I'm not a child, father."
