Chapter 98 - Confused On The Pitch

"Hey, see. Your work as a running back is to call for the ball while running forward. When you're able to recognize your teammates and get the ball. The next thing to do is hold the ball tight and carry the ball across the pitch, and you have to run fast with the ball into the end point and that's what we call a score or touchdown. Hey! Can you do that for me? Or this is too much for you Lefah! Lefah! Lefah! Lefah!"

[By the time Lefah was perceived and released, the game had already started. And Lefah was pushed off the ground and lying down on the pitch as if the game was over. Since the Santa Margarita High school football club was cheering and making a ghostly noise to celebrate their first touchdown in the game just 4 minutes late, the referee blew the whistle just to set another ball rolling.]

Garriso ran fast to Lefah and said, "Hey! What's wrong with you, bro? You weren't running when the referee blew the whistle to start the game. Hey, man. You good? Yo, get up."

[Garriso helps Lefah to stand up from the ground and Lefah continues immediately. Garriso held his hands to get up from the ground.] "What the hell do you mean, bro? ---I was waiting for the game to start and, actually, I don't know what happened, even the one who pushed me off the ground, my man."

[Garriso sighs immediately he helped Lefah to get up from the ground.] "Hey! Bro, they just score us. I mean, the Santas had their first touchdown. Can't you see them celebrating..."

"What do you mean, Garriso? How? When? Bro...."

"Hey, my man. I can't answer your questions right now. Let's get back in position and I think they're done celebrating their touchdown. Hey, I understand it happened too fast, but don't get confused again and stay focused immediately when you hear the attack. Let's play for the win and I got your back, my man."

"Like demn! Um, okay, and I won't fuck up again G. I promise, hey, let's get to play. I got this, bro...."

"Hey, you better do that...." [Garriso sighs]

"Okay, bro. Hey, thanks, Garriso...."

[Lefah and Garriso ran back to position immediately the Santa Margaritas finished celebrating their touchdown. The Santa Margaritas were leading a touchdown against the Rigby High School football club. The players ran back to their positions for the referee to blow the whistle to set the ball rolling after Santa's first touchdown of the season.]

[The referee loudly blew the whistle to set the ball rolling.]

[Whistle blow] ---- Attack! -----

[Both teams keep playing and competing for more touchdowns within several minutes of playing. Such a difficult game between both high schools. In the blink of an eye, there were '19' touchdowns by the Santa Margarita Football club when the Rigby Football club also had '11' touchdowns. The referee loudly blew the whistle and called for a break for the players to run off the pitch to have some water and a little rest and come back to play with the remaining minutes left.]

[Lefah was silent and worried because he couldn't put down a single score or any touchdown, but he was always pushed off the ground anytime he had the ball. He was trying to show his coaches his best but so bad to prove it. Since he was too slow to run with the ball, even dodging the opposing players wasn't easy enough. Even carrying the ball in his hands when running was horrible for him. This made some players blame Lefah because he was the only problem they had in the game, since some touchdowns were his mistake for the Santas to take advantage of making it a touchdown in the first half.]

Coach Wilson sighed and didn't say a word but held Lefah back from the players to one side and said to him, "I was just right there, and I saw everything happening on the pitch. I understand this is new to your playing but not much difference unlike when we used to play on our training ground. Hey, Lefah, to me that was a really fantastic game played in the first half, but what about the players and the world watching you now? Very good to prove me wrong. It's time to prove the players and the world watching you wrong. You still need to put in more effort after this break, keep pushing fast and hard. Hey! Kid. I forgot to ask you to score. And I'm really sorry, but it's not late. I need you to score till I ask you to stop. "Hope this is not too much to ask, right?"

[Tears started running down Lefah's cheeks] "Hmm, thanks for understanding, trusting in me and giving me another chance to play Coach. Um, I can't promise you, but I will make sure to give you some touchdowns because you have asked me to. We will win and call it a victory, maybe I promise..."

Coach Wilson hugged Lefah and kissed him and said, "Hey, kid. Don't try to make me proud, but Mrs. Madison and your mama, don't forget they are watching you right now, Lefah..."

[Coach Wilson smiled at Lefah immediately and pointed his finger at Mrs. Madison in the stands.]

"But I think not only Mrs. Madison and my ma'am but my Rigby City and my Old Street family and niggers...."

[Both giggle]

[The Announcer loudly announced to the players to come back on the pitch.]

"Hey, it's time to let the world hear about Lefah Hart, the genius one. So, let your people proud, my boy..." [Coach Wilson smiles and hugs Lefah again and asks him to go back on the pitch.]

[The players run back on the pitch and also to their positions in the game after the break. After Coach Wilson's voice to Lefah, all his eyes changed from dark brown to half red and half black [light wolf Black eyes], looking like a portrait of a majestic black wolf with glowing black-red eyes and nobody could tell how angry he is to play and not just to play, but for more touchdowns to clear his wrongs he made in the first half.]
