Chapter 97 - Match-Day

Miss Anna smiled at Mrs. Madison and said, "Hey, are you sure my boys will start today's match?"

Mrs. Madison giggled back at Miss Anna and said, "Yes, of course, Anna. I'm 100% sure that Lefah and Garriso will start today's match. Nobody could tell how best they can play now and that's what their coach told me."

"Okay and let's wait to watch, and I can't wait to see them playing for the first time..."

"And I will say it's a history in the NFL for my loving boys..."

[Both giggle]

[Man's voice continues immediately] "Back on the pitch, the players were now coming out of the dressing room onto the pitch. The people around started clapping, making ghostly noise, cheers, and singing for their schools. Both teams appeared on the pitch and started waving at the audience in the stadium and that was the most amazing and memorable moment ever."

"On the pitch, each football team consists of eleven players. Of course, the players are up to eleven each to represent their club, unlike they did in soccer league competitions around the world. In soccer, there happens to be ten players and one goalkeeper, but in the NFL, there is no goalkeeper but the Defensive group, Offensive group and the special roles group. And all these sets of groups have their major strengths or, let's say, a duty to play immediately when the referee blows the whistle to set the ball rolling on the pitch."

"So, Lefah and Garriso were part of the offensive group because they were running backs. Looking forward through the coaches lines, you can see the smiles on Coach Wilson, Coach Theodore and the coaches staff's faces and their lips, more especially Coach Theodore, because he really trusts in their beginners [Lefah and Garriso] and the whole team."

"The players removed their armor to let the people around or the authorities see their faces from the pitch. From the stands, Miss Anna's mood changed, and tears started running down her cheeks. Immediately she saw Lefah and Garriso on the pitch. That was crazy and countless people were around, but Lefah and Garriso's eyes could see through the stands of their family watching them and being happy."

Garriso wasn't happy because the Lopez family didn't show up at the stadium. Lefah smiled at Garriso and said, "Yo, bro. Miss Anna got this, and we are even fortunate to have Mrs. Madison's family too, so nothing to worry about the Lopez family not coming here."

Garriso giggled back at Lefah and said, "You're right, bro. "I am really proud of the Hart family, and I appreciate them a lot for coming into my life."

[Both giggle]

"Thanks, Garriso and don't forget the Hart family really love you, bro..." [Lefah continues immediately]

"Thanks too, bro. Forever loving, and I have got your back always..." [Garriso smiled over tears on his cheeks]

"Hey, stop crying and let's focus on our playing and forget about the Lopez family and this was what you told me some years ago, to forget about my dad, bro."

"Hey, fuck you. I do remember and that was years today, how would you, Lee..."

"Yo, fuck you, too. Why should I forget the real shit my bro asked me to do and so lucky, it made me strong enough, since I forgot about my fucking dad, G..."

[Both giggle]

[They players wear their armor back after showing their faces to the surrounding audience.]

[Man's voice continues immediately] "NFL players wear armor to mitigate or avoid the risk of any serious injuries and most particularly head trauma and to absorb the impact of collisions during the game high contact nature of the game, NFL. For their body protection, the players are to wear helmets or armor and the knees pads during games just to protect themselves from any serious leg injuries and so on."

"Since it was Lefah and Garriso's first time playing some important games like this one. Lefah and Garriso held their heads tight together and started rolling their eyeballs all over the full yards of the pitch, like wide or long, which word is to use to compare the whole pitch."

The NFL pitch of play used by the American football league is measured as yards [91.44m] long between the goal line, and 160 feet [48.8m] -- [53.3 yards] wide. One yard is equal meters of 0.9144. And about the scoreline, finish line, or let's say, end of the pitch, each end part is measured ten yards and fifty-three yards wide on the pitch [scoring zone or touchdowns cut points]

[The Announcer] "Hi, all families and friends here. You're welcome once again to Santa Margarita High school football Stadium. On the pitch, you could see each of the team players congregate around just to pray to God before the game started."

[In the blink of an eye, the players were in their position and ready to play any moment from now immediately the referee blew the whistle to set the ball rolling. Since the referees are part of the Offensive crews. The referees work together to ensure or promote, or umpire, the line judge, down judge, side-by-side judge, back judge and all together field or a pitch judge. And also, to ensure seriousness and fair game by encouraging both teams to obey the rules of the NFL game. The referees are a crew of seven officers at work during the game.]

[The referees are also counted as part of the offensive group on the pitch. Just on the passing plays, the referees primarily focus on the quarterback and approaching the defender, which is the defensive group.]

[The referee loudly blew the whistle to announce the game to be played. Or let's say the referees set the ball rolling on the pitch.]

----[Whistle blow] ---- "Attack!"

[Since it was Lefah and Garriso's first time playing a big game like this ever since they joined the high school's football team. Lefah became confused on the pitch and the only voice Lefah could hear was Coach Theodore's voice playing in his head like music.]
