"Had I known this is what it would take for you to strip me down, I would have been more involved in the attacks," said Xavier.
"I told you not to speak of this like that," Selene replied, regretting her decision to help Xavier clean up.
Xavier sat in warm water prepared by the servants. His arrival helped cheer up everyone's mood since the estate would be more protected with Xavier present.
Selene had a small cloth, which she used to wipe away the blood from Xavier's hands. Luckily, it was only a little, and Selene didn't find any cuts or bruises on him.
"How did you manage to kill the king and walk away without any harm done to you? Was he that awful?" Selene asked as she continued to wash Xavier.
"Or, your husband is just too good," said Xavier.
Selene smiled. "Yes, it could be that as well. I'm sure he was no match for you. I'm happy to see that you are home in one piece since I was worried. As good as you are, sometimes our plans don't go as we want."
