Chapter 306: The Dragon King Emerges
In the heart of the Lake of Life within the Star Dou Forest's core, Di Tian and Sr. Xiong returned swiftly following their battle. Without acknowledging the curious glances of the other savage beasts, Di Tian vanished directly into a dark void.
Inside this void lay a vast silver dragon, stretching as far as the eye could see. Di Tian stood respectfully before the immense creature.
"Master, why didn't you let me act earlier? Had I done so, the humans would never have taken away the Titan Giant Ape and Azure Bull Python so easily," Di Tian asked, a hint of confusion in his voice.
The Silver Dragon King opened her eyes, and her voice echoed through the void. "Di Tian, that person was no ordinary soul master. His strength may even rival your own. Like you, he possesses a balanced Yin-Yang dual soul core, something unheard of among humans. It is exceedingly rare."
"Moreover, he wields the Shura Demon Sword and seems capable of using it fully. This likely means he is the Shura God's chosen heir."
Though still perplexed, Di Tian replied, "Even if he is the Shura God's successor, the Shura God himself cannot intervene on the Douluo Continent. I am confident I could defeat him."
The Silver Dragon King sighed. "If you'd fought with all your might, things wouldn't have been so simple. Present on the battlefield were not only the Shura God's successor, but also heirs of the Rakshasa and Angelic Gods. Even at my peak, without my injuries, I would be no match for three godly inheritors."
"But Master, the Titan Giant Ape and Azure Bull Python were essential to our plans. Without them, our goals may be disrupted, weakening the strength of our intended vessel," Di Tian said, his concern evident.
"They will affect our destined child of fate, but he has his own path. Perhaps this change will bring new opportunities," the Silver Dragon King replied.
Di Tian fell silent, realizing that his master's meticulously crafted plan might be spiraling out of control. The Silver Dragon King continued, "I've recalculated recently, and the future of the Douluo Continent has grown increasingly unclear. Something significant has changed."
Di Tian was startled. "Master, how could this be? With your strength, surely you can foresee the continent's future?"
The Silver Dragon King's massive head shook slightly. "I'm not sure why, but where once the continent's fate was divided among five distinct paths, it now appears fragmented into several new branches. I can no longer predict the outcome."
Di Tian's expression grew grave, his voice trembling slightly. "Master, does this mean that more than five gods will rise from the Douluo Continent? Even if many gods emerge, shouldn't your powers still be able to foresee their actions?"
The Silver Dragon King was silent for a moment before answering, "My strength currently hovers at the pinnacle of a first-level god, possibly just shy of a god-king's realm. Even at this level, I should be able to sense most divine actions. The fact that I cannot means something related to a god-king may be involved—possibly even the Creator Gods."
Di Tian's face darkened as he muttered, "The Creator Gods? Could it be Life and Destruction?"
The void remained silent for a long while before the Silver Dragon King finally spoke. "Di Tian, our soul beast race's future has grown uncertain. It seems that some profound transformation is happening on the Douluo Star. I must personally venture out to investigate, so for now, all of the Star Dou Forest's affairs are under your command."
Di Tian responded anxiously, "Master, I fear I am unworthy of such a responsibility. Moreover, if you venture out, won't you risk exposure to the Shura God? That could endanger you."
The Silver Dragon King's eyes glimmered with a faint light. "You needn't worry for my safety. I will take on human form, which may restrict my powers, but I will still be far stronger than any mortal. Even limited, I can avoid the notice of the gods."
"As for our plans, continue as instructed. If necessary, use any means, even if it risks exposing our power."
Di Tian's expression turned serious as he continued, "But Master, what about your injuries? You have yet to fully recover; might this journey worsen them?"
"The wounds of the past are no longer an issue. After years of rest, I've managed to control the injuries completely, and they won't hinder me."
With her words, a powerful dragon roar resonated through the void, one so intense that even Di Tian felt immense pressure. In the wake of her cry, the Silver Dragon King's massive form began to shift and shrink, transforming into a beam of silver light that shot out of the Star Dou Forest and vanished into the vast world beyond.
As she disappeared, Di Tian bowed deeply. "Farewell, my lord!"
Once the silver light faded, Di Tian returned from the void to rejoin the other savage beasts. Bi Ji, the Emerald Swan, approached him with concern. "Di Tian, did Master reprimand you? Although the mission failed, it shouldn't impact our broader plans."
Di Tian observed the surrounding beasts, especially Sr. Xiong's fierce expression and the ever-gloomy Wan Yao Wang. With a slight shake of his head, he replied, "Master remains in seclusion and did not reprimand me for the mission's failure. For now, we must remain silent and wait for the appearance of the Child of Fate before moving forward."
Di Tian added, "Our lord's seclusion may last for an extended period. From now on, I will oversee all external matters without reporting to our lord. None of you are to leave without cause; if you end up like the Titan Giant Ape and Azure Bull Python, I won't intervene to save you."
The assembled beasts fell silent, with even Sr. Xiong remaining quiet. Humanity's soul masters had proven far more powerful than any of them had anticipated, fielding large numbers of Titled Douluo, some of them even at the Extreme Douluo level. Even Sr. Xiong, formidable as he was, felt the threat they posed.
Meanwhile, Yang Potian sat quietly among Bibi Dong's party, seemingly at rest but alert. Yet a faint sense of unease crept over him.
He grew serious, silently questioning the source of this threat. Normally, not even Di Tian alone should pose a problem, so why did he feel as if something dangerous was looming?
