The process was going soft and smoothly, it was a little quiet as we had nothing much to talk about but I was more surprised that he didn't comment on the fact that I used my left hand. Maybe he hasn't noticed. I had always been asked why I wrote or drew with my left hand every single time I use my hand in public, but looking at him and bothered by the fact the he wasn't even asking. I had contemplated on the idea of rejecting his offer for me to work for him, scared that he would cancel it once I picked that brush with a left hand. I got so curious and had to ask him.
"Don't you get bothered that am working with my left hand?". I nervously asked, holding my breath. He looked at me surprised?. " Do you still get worried about it?". He asked staring directly into my eyes.
" W..what do you mean?". What does he meant by that question? He knew?, but how?. There had been a lot of weird things he would say that would make question if he knew me from somewhere. I kept looking at him waiting for him to check me in on what he meant by that.
" Oh, what I meant to ask was if it really bothers you, there isn't nothing wrong with it, don't let people's hate get to you". He suddenly said and I felt like something melted instantly, like a wall that had been building up for decades and seemed like nothing could Weaver or destroy it. I suddenly felt like his warm and soft hand caressing my hair. I looked up at him and he smiled.. a decent and lovely smile that made my heart ache a little bit but this time it wasn't from pain.
"If you keep making me move like that, I might make a mistake that won't be correctable and it's going to be your fault". I said and he immediately let go of my hair smiling sheepishly.
" Fine. But like I said it's not healthy for you to let people's unsolicited opinions get to you". I nodded immediately smiling back at him mouthing the word thanks.
"Haha can you let me concentrate now". Honestly I didn't think that I would be so comfortable talking to someone that I never seen as a friend. we talked for another extra minutes while I was still working on the portrait. it made the work so much easier and for the first time fun.
" Wow. It looks amazing, would you mind adding the magnolia leaves in the background". I immediately got curious about why he wanted the magnolia flowers in the background, does it signify to anything.
"It was my mom's favorite, she used to have a lot of them at our back house when she was still here. honestly I wasn't even a fan of it until she passed. it was like the kind of thing that reminded me so much of her every time I see this flower I instantly remember my mom and how so much she was in Love with it".
