I was in awe when walked in the house. I didn't know cops were this boujee. Everything I set my eyes on looked so expensive or maybe am just too broke. He immediately came to take me in. He had already prepared a space for me outside for me to stay, Which is cool and thoughtful of him. I sighed as I waited for him to get everything done. He seemed a little bit stressed and wanted to asked but remembered he was a cop and was meant to be stressed?. At least I thought. He came out again but someone was with him. Maybe his brother?, he looks handsome and softer.
"I thought maybe you would be more comfortable outside than inside". He said looking directly at me, almost nervously.
I smile and nodded.
"Where is the picture I need to work on".
"Oh, before that would you like something to eat or maybe tour the house?". I looked I laughed internally.. tour?, Are we friends?, ha. Better be joking. His friend giggled behind him and I looked towards him, he waved and smiled so sweetly.
"What Jo meant is that you should at least shake off the anxiety and relax a little bit". He said still smiling. Jo?, Officer Jonathan?. Oh he calls him Jo for short. They might be really close.
"Mhm, but am fine". It's breezful out here, it will help me focus more. The magnolia tree sitting just almost at the middle of the compound gave the big house a little shade and made it much lively. The pink beautiful leaves scattered all over the ground. It made me wonder how such beautiful flower is the taste of that man. I sat on the little but comfortable chair he brought outside waiting for him to hand me over the work I have to do. I unpacked my painting tools, and acrylic paint since he will be giving me the canvas to work on. He handed me his mom's picture a nice looking woman seems in her middle fifties. She looked just like officer Nathan. The eyes, the lips shape and nose. How can a man look so much like a woman. Her beautiful long brown hair and a sweet smile, her eyes seems like there is so much life in it.
"You look just like her". Not knowing when that slipped out. He had already had a red ear by the time I realized what had said to him.
And mouthed a " thank you". He took a chair and sat beside me claiming that he just wanted to see how progressive my skill is. Bragging about giving me so much credit if it turns out well.
"You are almost in your third year right?, If you excel in this, it will be your very finish outside work and can be used when looking for job opportunities after college".
"I have worked on many things before". I said to him amused how he thought this was my first.
