The Sun was definitely not in a good mood....the heat was almost blinding.
The outside world felt so unfamiliar to her, she had been cooped up inside for close to 7months since her marriage. She went out regularly with Shaan to eat out or small get togethers but it didn't feel this way.
Since she couldn't visit the Zoo the day she had planned to because she was too tired and too queasy to move.
She decided to go today, Shaan had tried to talk her out of it because of the sun but there was no time....in less than a week they would be on their way to Ohio for Renee's wedding.
There was so much to do ,so she must check this zoo visiting off the list.
"And I'm regretting it already...I think I should quit my job and be a full housewife" Rosaline chuckled
The joke was on her because she was a feminist.
"It goes against everything I stand for as a woman" she muttered to herself.
Even with the air conditioner in the car...she felt the burn the moment she stepped out of the car.
It burned through the umbrella... Gerald was holding over her.
She was missing Kayid already....she left him at home with Shaan because the sun was a lot for his baby skin.
When she got to the Zoo, she was given a tour around the place by a young man,Carl, who she didn't quite understand his position. He showed her the animals they had there and explained a few things to her.
If she was being honest with herself, Carl was a bore and she was happy it took only an hour of her day to check the zoo.On her way back home, she did a little grocery shopping, and bought things she'd take to Ohio.
She got home and turned on the lights. Shaan wasn't back home yet.
She'd received a text from Shaan when she was shopping. He said he was taking Kayid out for ice cream. She was not exactly happy they went for ice cream without her but it was the perfect time to pack their bags for their trip to Ohio so they won't forget anything.
After what took forever,she was done with hers and Kayid's box. She went to Shaan's dressing room to pack the clothes he brought out that he was taking. She caught her reflection in the mirror.....she was really pregnant. And very big!
She wrapped the length of her hair around her face.
"I wish my face was smaller...." After few minutes of looking at herself in the mirror..she realized she missed her second lunch for the day.
"Ah....my appointment with the doctor. It's not today is it?" Another wave of realization hit her..
She turned to grab her phone on the drawer,then it slipped from her hand and fell into the waste bin beside it.
"Oh shoot"....she knelt to pick it out...when her eyes caught a squeezed picture under the table. She picked it and took her phone.
She checked her appointment date.
"Indeed....it's today. 5pm....Rosa what were you high on when you agreed to this time?"
And it was just 3:00 on the dot...she still had time.
Her attention shifted back to the picture,she straightened it....it was an old picture,she couldn't make out the faces but they were teenage boys. From the beaded bracelets they wore, she knew who they were.
"A really beautiful friendship they got going on for them"
"Who?" Shaan said. He placed a kiss on her forehead .
"How was your day?"
" I thank God....could've been worse but it wasn't"
"Alhamdulillah(praise be to God)"
"You like the place "
"It's a work in progress.... it'll be boring at first but I'm sure I'll survive "
"Do they want you to work few months after delivery or you'll get a year and half?"
"They haven't decided yet...if they don't I'm just going to take all of the leave-s I skipped..."
"Smart....what's that?"
"Oh...found it under your table, it's a picture of you and Noah "
"How'd you know that....the picture is old and faded"
"The bond never lies"
"You mean the friendship token"
"You still have it....it hasn't broken since you've had it?"
"Nope"
"Not even once?"
"No...not even once"
"Wow...I'm amazed. And I'm jealous "
"Why?"
Rosaline gasped "No way....you guys used to love each other?"
"Yea-...wait...as in "homo-love"?.....what the.... heck no. No!"
"Someone's on the defensive....the Lord will forgive ,no need to be shy about your past "conquests "....Rosaline laughed sinisterly.
Kayid crawled in "mama..woo l..ma..mama"
"That's right my love..." Rosaline carried him "....mama has always been straight since she was born"
He squeaked and kissed her "Yes my baby...you'll be like mama cause papa used to be gay"
"Screw you Rosy"Shaan laughed
"I've got an appointment by 5....you hungry?"
"Yeah.... with Doctor Ett?"
"Yes"
"I'll have Mashed potatoes and chicken. Should I order pizza...the usual ?"
"No....order Mashed potatoes and Chicken" She eyed him.
"Heyy....fine.... I'll have anything you're having"
"Are you sure baby....I don't want to doing this for me" She batted her eye lashes.
That is obviously a trick question. Be wise Shaan
"Yes, I'm sure" He sighed
"We're in sync. Look alive my love, we've got Chemistry and we're gonna make history" She pecked Kayid

The flight was smooth and didn't feel long....
"Are you okay baby...Do you feel nauseated?" Shaan asked as her helped her into the car.
"I'm too occupied to throw anything up" She rubbed her belly.
Shaan chuckled.
The drive to the Campbell's was enjoyable, for the first time in a long time she was excited to be here and to meet her family.
Ohio was even more beautiful in her eyes.
Maybe it was because she was in love and she felt loved.
The last time she came her, she felt her whole world crumbling....oh, it crumbled. The fear she felt at that time was real, but God was greater than her fears she finally realized. There were times when she understood her mom's strong faith in God..now was one of those times.
Finally ,they arrived at their destination. To her surprise , Keisha was the first one out to meet them....as if she'd been waiting for this moment all her life.
"Oh my goodness....my baby!" Sean pulled her into his embrace. She had missed this familiar scent of her father.
"Let me have a moment too" Beatrice snapped.
"Mama..." Rosaline opened her arm for a hug.
Beatrice bent to kiss her belly
"My third grandbaby... I've been waiting for you. And I will continue to wait for you. Come out quickly. I love you...." She stood up and looked at Rosaline for a while "....you look terrible" she said and gave her a kiss on her forehead.
Gina looked older than the last time they met but she was still very beautiful.
Noah and Renee looked so good together....it brought tears to her eyes but she blinked them away.
Shaan obviously wasn't a fan of hugs,so he off loading the trunk with Noah and Sean
"Shaan~!!!" The voice came shriek-like to her ears.
As the figure ran towards her husband...Rosaline felt like her heart dropped on the baby's head.
Arms rapped around his neck ,head placed on his chest....it was like she was his long lost love.
His face held nothing, no emotion whatsoever,then he sighed.
