Chapter 447 - Jocelyn and Drakken

(Third Person POV)

[Outside of Harrenhal{

Outside a small cabin, Jocelyn Baratheon was sitting down on a blanket on the ground with her daughters.

There was a basket of fruit and she had a jug of water next to them. Rhaenys and Rhaella were eating some pastries that Jocelyn had baked and the three of them were smiling.

About two years prior, Drakken allowed Jocelyn to meet her daughters again. It was a very emotional and tearful reunion on the part of the Princesses but Jocelyn was unable to find any emotion about.

Despite the emotion her girls displayed, she was unable to remember anything about them. That is what made her pain even greater and she had to deal with that for months.

She would beg Drakken to restore her memory but he told her that it was not something he could do. She claimed he could manipulate memories and that he had done so with Vaegon and Daella but Drakken told her that he couldn't manipulate memories that were not there.

He said that he could fabricate memories and implant them in Jocelyn's mind but Aemon protested, telling Drakken that it would be far more cruel. Aemon told him to use his own memories, saying that he could find a way to link them together and give Jocelyn any memory of their daughters back.

Drakken merely smirked and refused.

He was not a God of Good, nor a God of Charity. He didn't have to do any favors for anyone and allowing Jocelyn to see her daughters was only possible because Jocelyn gave her body to him.

It was his lust that needed to satiated in order for this to happen; in order for The Princesses to have their mother back.

And now, that is done.

Rhaenys could not help but stare at her mother's eyes who was pouring some water in a cup for Rhaella.

Jocelyn noticed this, "What is it, Rhaenys?"

Rhaenys smiled slightly, "Nothing." She said, "All this time….and I still cannot help but stare at your eyes."

Jocelyn smiled warmly, "Oh, is that so?" She said, "I can say the same for your beautiful eyes, my dear."

"Rhaenys." Rhaella said, "Are you not going to tell her?"

"Tell me what?" Jocelyn asked

Rhaenys cleared her throat, "There was a bit of an issue." She said as she looked down, "With my betrothed."

"Oh." Jocelyn said, "The Prince Viserys?"

"Yes." Rhaenys said

"What happened?" Jocelyn asked her, "I hope its not bad."

"He drunkenly claimed he didn't want to marry Rhaenys." Rhaella blurted our

Rhaenys scowled, "Rhaella!"

"What, its true." Rhaella said

Jocelyn gasped softly, "Oh no." She said, "How could he…,why would he do that?"

"I do not know. My relationship with him was never bad. It is this one's betrothed that I am not fond of." Rhaenys sighed, "But Viserys has made it clear that he dislikes the idea of me."

"He's a fool." Rhaella said, "Mother, you know he said he's willing to marry Aemma instead? Aemma??? He's so stupid! That's his brother betrothed."

"Oh my." Jocelyn said, "I wonder what got into him."

"Uncle Baelon sorted him out. Aunt Alyssa as well." Rhaenys said, "But with the whole law of consent and marriage still fresh, I don't know if Drakken will take that lightly."

"Yes….." Jocelyn said, "The youngest one can be to marry is 18. If by any chance, one of the two betrothed is 17, then it is allowed. And no adult over 18 can bed someone under 17. It is…..heavily enforced. Drakken built that prison already. He is not messing about."

"As vile as he is." Rhaenys said, "He implemented that Law to protect children, particularly girls. Aunt Alyssa mentioned that the goal was to keep young maidens safe, as well as young boys."

"Despite him being a monster, he can do good I suppose." Rhaella said, "Not many enjoy the idea of being married to an old geezer."

"Wow, I am touched by the kind words." A voice said

The girls jumped up in surprise and turned to see Drakken standing next to them, his hands in his pockets.

"M-My Lord…." Jocelyn said, "I do not think today is the day that we….are together….."

Drakken chuckled and sat down next to her, "No, Jocelyn. It is not." He said, "I came here to let you know about something."

"What is it?" She asked

"We can stop now." Drakken grabbed an apple from the basket, "If you want."

"What?" Jocelyn asked

"I got what I wanted from you; information." Drakken said, "There is nothing that I could do to get your memory back, it is absolutely permanent."

"But….." Jocelyn said, "You…..wait….."

Drakken tossed the apple in the air and caught it, "I will no longer have you as my lover." He said, "You were brought back as an experiment and that is done. I got what I needed to know. I can bring anyone back should I have their remains but their memory will be affected. There could be one eay to overcome that but I don't have the means to do it. Not yet."

"What?" Rhaenys said, "You mean there is a way to restore her memories?"

"I didn't say that." Drakken said, "I said there might be a way to bring someone back with their memories intact. But I suppose it could be possible to use that means to restore her memory."

"Then please!" Rhaenys said, "Please do it!"

"Like I said, I don't have the means to do it yet." Drakken told her, "But why would I use it on her?"

"My Lord…." Jocelyn said, "I have served you faithfully. You are my one true god…"

She reached for his hand and grabbed it, giving him a pleading look.

"I am allowing you to continue living. You can stay here and spend time with your girls as much as you desire." Drakken told her, "You can even go out and do something else, I don't know. Probably marry someone else and start anew. But we're done."

A tear formed in Jocelyn's eye, rolling down her cheek, "No…." She said softly, "You can't do this to me. I can't…..I need my memories."

"You don't." Drakken told her as he pulled his hand away, "You can make new ones."

"Its not the same." She said shakily, "You're too cruel…."

"Lord Drakken…." Rhaenys said softly, "I would do anything…."

"As would I, My Lord." Jocelyn said, "A child, I would bear you one!"

Drakken patted Jocelyn's cheek, "Look at you, so beautiful." He said, "What makes you think I would want a child from the woman who bore Aemon's children? No. But tell me, do you still wish to choose me?"

Jocelyn stared at him for a couple of seconds, tears rolling down her cheeks, and her lips quivered.

"Yes." Was all she said

Drakken smirked slightly, "Well, if you want it to be that way…." He started,

"So be it."
