The war settled, and seven years later, Ye Qiu finally returned to Anquan County. Seeing the citizens lined up to welcome him, he couldn't help but smile, although his heart was filled with both nervousness and excitement. After all, he hadn't seen Niu Xue Mei and their two daughters for seven years.
When he left, his eldest daughter Ye Congying was six years old, and the younger daughter Ye Congzi was only four. Over seven years, they should have grown into graceful young women! He wondered if they remembered their father.
At the entrance of the Ye Family, Ye Congying and Ye Congzi anxiously asked Niu Xue Mei, "Mother, does my dress look good today? Is my hair messy?"
"It's not messy, everything is great," Niu Xue Mei smiled at them. "Your father will surely be happy when he sees you."
Ye Congying giggled sweetly, "Mother looks beautiful today too."
Niu Xue Mei felt a bit bashful, "Beautiful, what beauty? I'm old now."
