As she heard someone approaching her, she acted unconscious. " Idiots! I told you to bring her by dawn, why is she still laying here! " yelled a man angrily through the phone. As soon as he said that, two men came and carried Shara to a vehicle and tucked her in the boot. But before she could try anything to escape, they injected a heavy dose of anesthesia.
As soon as she woke up, she found herself in an room with surgical tools and drugs. "Oh! you are awake. There is no need to be so frightened, you are our new test subject, so lie down obediently and just let me do my work.", said a woman wearing a lab coat with a terrifying smile. Shara's body felt heavy, her voice couldn't come out, she couldn't move her hand or leg. But she slightly felt at ease that she escaped from those creepy men but it didn't last long for her to realise what she has fallen into.
Every day they fed her just enough to survive, people came by to feed her different drugs, every drug had a side effect, sometimes she vomited or dazzed through the ceiling, somedays it would hurt her gut so bad that she wished to be dead and somedays she would fall unconscious because of the pain. She slowly lost count of the days, lying motionless, emotionless. Slowly she became immune to the pain so they dumped her off as she was no longer useful.
" They thought l was dead as l barely moved and so did l wish to be but l couldn't bring myself to do it." narrated Shara to Emma and Sion. It took her two days to regain her energy after lying in the alley by the dumpster. Then she walked and walked without any destination, " l didn't feel safe to report the same to the police officers, l had no where to go now. I didn't even know where I was. So long story short, that was when my adoptive mother took me in when I collapsed right infront of her house. Oh and her name is Miller." said Shara to Emma.
Ms.Miller soon arrived with snacks in a tray as Shara was narrating her story to Emma and Sion and sat on a chair to join in the conversation, she said " You should have seen the look on my face as l saw a girl lying unconscious on my garden. She slowly opened up to me. Her appetite was highly affected due to the drugs and she vomited everything she ate but one day she cried out loud when she was having a soup, it isn't suffering that breaks someone who has been through hardships, but a simple gesture of kindness."
Shara handed a pendrive and said " As soon as I began thinking straight, l looked for someone who could help me uncover the mystery and met Mr.Lee. Look into this pendrive by tommorow because Liam and Cobby will come by with some clues that got in our hands. They are the other two drug victims who you are supposed to visit. We keep in touch. We were quite happy to know about you from Collen's letter. I know you have a lot of questions but let's call it a day."
