Chapter 73 - 73- Shifting winds

As Carter and Class 1-A were busy training to become heroes, the world around them continued to change in ways that were starting to have greater effects.

Despite most of the world having mostly moved on from the massive battle between All Might and All for One, the governments of the world never forgot. Hundreds of agencies around the world have been working non-stop for months to try and find counter-measures for Carter.

Several countries have even started to work together, seeing his power as a threat that needs to be dealt with before it can grow stronger. While they comb through records to find any potential weakness, people in power also turn their attention to this 'boy' who seems to have more power than he knows what to do with.

With the United States backing him, most countries have backed off and are simply looking for ways to defend themselves should the Quirk wars begin again, but it's the people of American who are the most ignorant. Dozens of politicians feel that Japan shouldn't have access to such a valuable 'resource' and have demanded time and time again that the President have Carter returned to the states by force.

The President doesn't budge however as he's one of the few who is aware of who Carter is, the adopted son of Star and Stripe. Not only is she the single strongest hero in the country, and probably the wider world. She is also a hero, and with President Skyline being a former hero himself, he holds a particular disdain for politicians who try and scheme while doing nothing to help the public.

So he takes particular joy in refusing any attempt the Senate, Congress and various moronic military leaders try and pull to bring Carter back to the States so that they can 'help him understand the joy of freedom'.

They don't realize however that Carter could flatten the country by himself if he so pleased, and with how close he was to Star and Stripe, who's to say she wouldn't help him if the idiots went to far, and that was why he refused to take part in their idiotic plans.

The Foundation is also busy, despite this version of Earth being vastly different from other realities, it still is full of anomalies.

Hateful lizards, portals to sleeping gods, writhing flesh that consumes, it's all here and takes a considerable amount of effort to contain. The 05 Council has recently given the green light to attempt diplomacy with SCP-682, so far the creature still rips them to pieces, but at least listens for a few minutes, and has even started making demands which is worrying.

682 is not the only anomaly agitated by Carter however. SCP-666 seems to be both more happy and scared, often seen going from one extreme to the other, as if unsure how to react.

The Gate Guardian has also been seen active for the first time, sending nearby Sites into panic mode as the Guardian raised its massive sword, ready for battle the day that the presence made itself known to the world. (Dave being dumb) Following this researchers were sent to try and communicate, but the Guardian said little to them.

Speaking of the Scarlet King, the Children have been more active than ever these past few months, giving the Foundation a massive headache.

Normally the cult is spread out as the Children look for artifacts of their god, but with the appearance of their 'prophesied heir' they have all been migrating en mass to Japan. This has put a massive strain on personnel stationed there as well as freaking out the local government since an unknown amount of cultists have breached their borders.

For the most part, the military and HPSC have been working closely with the Foundation to weed out any cultist bases they can find, but they still remain hard pressed to find the location of the League of Villains, though a lead through Hawks has been showing promise.

The Children are not the only ones moving however, various other cults have begun joining or attacking them after seeing their sudden rise, not wanting them to overtake them in their worship to whatever deity they reach out to.

Closer to home things are a bit calmer.

Despite the very real threat Carter is to everyone around him, Nezu has decided to let him remain at U.A, though not all staff agreed they did see the wisdom in not isolating him at such a volatile point in his life.

They did feel a bit better once they found out about him running around with Mirko, seeing as he did have a bit of humanity in him still, but that was only for a second before they started wondering if the pair was breaking the law.

After absorbing the Paranormal Liberation Front, Tomura and the others have gone underground to wait things out as Dr. Garaki works to make Tomura stronger, while also healing his old master, who's status fluctuates between lucid and thrashing in pain.

Stain has also been busy, sparring daily with the core members of the League forcing them to become better, since the whole plan falls apart without all of them. Overhaul was also present, but had been turned into a lab rat as the Doctor gladly used his quirk to test various things, as well as adding it to a vestige of Tomura's quirks to see if any new surprises would present themselves.

A/N-Lowkey, I'm burning out on this book, so it'll be a while before I come back to it, NOT DROPPING IT, JUST TAKING A BREAK. I'll probably be rewriting my Halo fanfic since it was mostly i.a . . . iykyk, so i'm going back to fix ALL OF THAT MESS, wish me luck fam!!
