The following morning, Nytri is out on a jog. Not only her but a lot of Azurians are doing it like it's the norm or they just wanted to tag along. Nytri reached the entertainment district on her jog then she heard her name being called, she turned and saw it was Sou (Sou Alcore from Chapter 167, the boy with Ragnar) with Ragnar with him.
"Hmm?" Nytri jogs towards them, "What's up, Sou?" Ragnar is surprised to see the princess in such a state.
Sou waves his hand, "Hey hey hey, I met this guy here and he came from outside. We've had tons of fun, we were on our way to the arcade...…" He kept on telling Nytri what they had done in the past week and Nytri listened with a smile. "….So his name is King Ragnar, King of the Cath Sith." Ragnar bows his head to show respect and Nytri does same, the lessons she took from King aren't for naught though none were of humility so her bow looked more like a king to a subject. Sou gives them privacy.
Ragnar thinks nothing of it, "Princess Nytri, as you have heard from my friend. I came here to invite Azuria to Cathgul and you to our Academy."
"Yeah," Nytri speaks but struggling to keep it formal, "Of course, I've- have seen the invitation just l- yesterday."
Ragnar chuckles, "I don't think there's a need to be so formal." He smiles.
"Really?" Nytri looks uncomfortable and Ragnar nods. Nytri sighs in relief, "That's good, formal talks is really not my thing."
Ragnar laughs, "So, about the invitation?"
"Yeah," Nytri speaks, "Paxius convinced me. I'll join your academy. Who knows, I might learn a thing or two." She smiles.
Ragnar is surprised, "By Paxius, you mean his majesty?" Nytri looks at him with a blank face and he continues, "You should at least call him father or his majesty even if he adopted you. It'll hurt him if you don't call him father at least once."
Nytri tilts her head, "Naah, it's no bother. Besides, I called him that a couple of times and we both got creeped out."
"Ri~ght," Ragnar speaks, "Is the Prince exercising with you this morning?" Ragnar looks around, "I wanted to invite him too to the academy."
Nytri's thoughts, "Brother? Brother...? Ah, he means Ryu...He wants Ryu to join the academy?" She imagines a 500meter Titanosaurian in the academy trying to attend classes or practical lessons. Her thoughts, "That won't work no matter how you look at it." She smiles speaking, "Yee~aah unfortunately, my brother is on an errantry with my mum."
"Oh," Ragnar's shoulders slump, "I wanted to meet him. Then I'll come back another time and invite him, I do hope to meet the Queen another time."
Nytri smiles wryly and her thoughts, "No no no, mum would kill you before you get close… I guess the Queen Golem could play queen for Paxius or Lyra, I think Lyra is the better choice." Nytri glances over Ragnar's Azuria style fashion, "Looks like you fit right in perfectly, King Ragnar."
Ragnar chuckles, "Please, there's no need for honorifics. Just call me Ragnar."
Nytri smiles, "Then you call me Nytri."
Ragnar laughs, "Indeed I shall. As for fitting in, this kingdom is really one of a kind. I've never seen such a nation as grand as this before." They both start to walk on a stroll.
"Yep," Nytri speaks, "Paxius went all out with this place. He spared no chances."
"Hmmm," Ragnar muses, "Then does it mean he has been the king since this kingdom was founded?"
Nytri nods, "Yeah, he's a god just like you." They walk reaching a cliff with rails and benches.
"Fascinati-" Ragnar freezes, "How did you know I was a god?"
Nytri chuckles pointing to her eyes, "I see things differently from everyone else. I see the flow of energy inside everyone and the type of energy too. You have divine energy mixed with raw energy, that shows you're a half god."
Ragnar is surprised, "You can see all this? What else do you see?" they reach the rails and bench with Nytri sitting on the rails.
Nytri grins, "I can actually see behind me, sort of like third person vision and alternate it too. I see the flow of wind, water and vibrations in the earth. I don't just see it, I feel it with my body so I know my surroundings most of the time."
"Most of the time?" Ragnar asks clearly fascinated.
"Yeah," Nytri smiles, "You can't focus on everything in you vision now, can you?"
Ragnar sits on a bench close to the rails, "I suppose you're right…..There's another reason for me coming here." Nytri looks at Ragnar and he continues, "Normally, in times of war, gods do no get involve directly. That's how Cathgul has managed to pull through all this while, but something strange happened in Azuria's war with Falshurx and allies." He looks at Nytri, "Why did your gods join the battle? When gods join wars, the damage can spread so much that nothing is left behind." He sighs, "We're lucky their gods didn't intervene. But even so, a divine war can occur."
Nytri looks at Ragnar, "Where will you stand be, if a divine war occurs?"
Ragnar looks at Nytri smiling, "With Azuria of course. We intend on supporting you to the bitter end. We've been oppressed by those nations for so long, your war was the incident we needed to rally up. We intend to fight even if it ends in our defeat."
Nytri looks over the city from the cliff, "Then that won't be a problem." Ragnar is confused, "Huh?" And Nytri speaks, "Before their armies arrived in our territory, Azuria targeted their gods and eliminated majority of them. That's why they've not yet made any moves, there's no one to make a move." She looks at Ragnar.
Ragnar is confused, "How? What do you mean?"
Nytri smiles, "We have our ways to slay gods." The 2 talked for a long time till night comes, Ragnar walks down the cliff with unbelief on his face. Whatever he heard, it was too hard to believe but he took Nytri's words as is. He saw no reason for her to lie so what she said must be true.
[AU: INFO
- Anyone would have that look if they realize gods are just insects to Calamities and Azuria has over 230 Calamities living normal lives. Not to mention those at godhood ranks (Demi-god to Primordial) Being in the rank of a god doesn't make you a god, it just means you have the power comparable to a god but not the physic of a god. Like a mortal with overpowered godlike powers.
- Divine war: A war between gods. This has a history of nearly causing the extinction of civilization.
- Holy war: A war between nations led by gods but the gods only give them their blessings and in rare cases weapons to the nations to fight.
- War: Conflict between nations without involvement of any god.
