Chapter 448 - Go Time

BOOM!

Destro let out a cacophony of bewildering laughter, each decibel of his voice carrying the power to wipe cities off of maps...

Azure soared upwards in the sky, dodging and weaving as explosions rung out from below him.

'I could lead him into space... No, I'd be at a disadvantage... Hmmm.' He thought, turning and firing countless spears made of water down from above.

BOOM!

SHATTER!

"Tch." Azure, blasted upwards like a rocket, trying to leverage his distance against the god of destruction in any way possible.

'Come on Azure... You made this decision long ago... But! I didn't account for having to do the ritual under frontal assault from a lesser god... No! What the hell am I thinking?! I was once the lesser god of the entire sea... A domain so large that my authority spanned over eighty percent of the planet...' He grit his teeth, feeling a solid explosion pierce his side...

"Erk!" He turned his body to water, descending upon the mortal lands once more as he soared past an ascending lunatic with the power to make anything explode...

'What a terrible matchup...' He reformed his body mid-fall, leaning left and spinning with a powerful blast of energy as his body began to move with impossible motions.

"NICE!" Destro laughed, landing on thin air beside a completely caught off-guard Azure.

BOOM!

The center of his chest exploded, sending him flying into the air above the ocean below.

"Tch!" He growled, immediately feeling the traitor's curse spill into his body.

Reaching downward and steeling his piercing gaze... His body jerked to a stop... And the entire ocean below began to violently tremble.

"Wait..." Destro cocked an eyebrow with a giddy smile.

"Don't tell me you're actually going to do it? I was just joking bro! You don't gotta go that far for little ol me!?" Destro began to spill, doing everything in his power to stop who was once a good friend of his from making a very very impactful decision... The impact of that very decision... Being against the whole of Vallmora...

He paid the god no mind, grinning as the water below started to surge and beckon to his call.

'It's been so long...' He thought, feeling the cold water surge against his skin... Brining a tumescent charm to his body and the air around it.

"Azure!" Destro shot himself towards Azure, realizing just how close his fellow god was from defying the will of the divine...

However... Before he could even recollect what was happening... Destro had been submerged in a body of water so large... That he thought he had fallen to the sea below.

But no...

Azure chuckled grimly... Floating at the center of a vortex of rushing waters the size an entire city...

Around that vortex... The sea had lifted... Replacing the sky itself as the shore grew in kilometers below...

'Unbelievable...' Destro gurgled in the water.

Unluckily for Azure... Water was easily disersable.

BO-BO-BOOM!

A chain reaction of powerful explosions rang out throughout the floating sea, each doing substantial damage to Azure's impressive architecture.

Nonetheless...

His body snapped through the water with a flash, grabbing at Azure in the heart of the vortex and launching him downward into the descending waters with a direct blast.

Azure smiled, falling to the sea below as the familiar sight came into view...

Michael was standing atop a makeshift raft of ice only just below Azure's descending form...

"Trident?" He asked as he plunged into the sea below at incredible speeds, causing Michael to turn towards the slowly sinking ships already being devoured by what could only be described as some sort giant squid...

Azure took a breath, inhaling the water and feeling a subtle warmth run down his spine.

'He won't come into my dominion...' Azure thought, looking down towards a struggling figure at the bottom of the sea...

'How fitting...' He thought before launching himself towards Gabriel with the force of the entire sea... Stopping in his tracks right by his side.

"Stop..." His words forced through the water, bringing a strange expression to Gabriel's inaudible expression.

"You cannot touch a weapon such as this... As you're suspicion was indeed correct mate... I am no man..." He grinned, outstretching his hand with reverence as the water began to twist around his fingers... Firing small coils towards the trident in slow almost ritualistic form...

"Consider yourself lucky Gabriel of House Envixity... You are the first man in today's history to perceive a gods authority..."

Azure grinned as his face began to glow and strange blue engravings began to light up along his lightly tanned skin...

But to Gabriel... All he could feel...

Was complete suffocation...

He began to sink further into sea... But it denied... Launching him upwards towards the surface where he was sure that Michael would catch his friend.

"Go time..." Azure whispered, turning his gaze towards the crowd behind him.

"It's been so long my friends... But you have heard my call... Which makes me oh so grateful..." Azure smiled up at the massive beasts and the small critters that all hovered in unison before their returning lord...

But most importantly... Above the surface of the water...

"There's no way!" Michael yelled gleefully as a winged dolphin was carrying through the sky and back towards the land.

All while Gabriel could only remember that horrendous feeling of having met divinity once more...

And behind them...

"Don't look!" Michael yelled, signaling that it was indeed true...

Azure...

Was one of the twenty-four living Lesser gods... Or at least... Had once been one of them.

Somewhere in the sky... A man-No... A god was grinning with joy as the world around him answered his call for the first time in nearly two thousand years...

Thousands of vortex's of water had begun to spill out along the sky... And from those... Came the beasts of the deep sea... All sorts of hideous beasts had begun to descend, filling the air with the rancid smell of death.

And it was all so elevating... So euphoric...

Having been betrayed once... No... Twice...

After all...

The sea was in the sky now...

Azure would play the games of the Greater Gods no more!
