"Unacceptable!" The Devil wearing a fedora slammed his dagger into the roundtable.
"I agree... I'm afraid if this continues to escalate... We may have to step in... Before they do..." Zephyr stood, causing everyone around the table to shiver from his status.
"You... You don't think they actually would for this... Do you?" The tall blonde Devil asked Zephyr, a clear amount of nervousness leaking through her voice.
"If all of this happens within the same day... Then I'm afraid it would awake the Concepts that we truly fear... But... If we can influence these next few events... Then maybe, they won't feel the need and it will buy us a decent bit of time..." Zephyr sighed, his draconic fist pressing into the ancient table.
"Why should we bet it all on a maybe?" A new Devil appeared, the very twin Devil of Zephyr's most loyal General... And the bane of his existence...
"Romania... Of all times for the Devil of Denial to show their face...?" Zephyr growled, whilst the arrogant sister gazed down at Helena (The Blonde Devil) from the entrance of the hall.
"She plans to interfere..." A brutish multi-horned Devil hissed at her from the shadows.
"I do..." She smiled, holding up a severed head... A head riddled with corruption...
Everyone within the hall grew pale... Even Dorian who had lone since grown tiresome of meetings, found himself raising an eyebrow with curiosity.
"Do you know what this is?" She asked, snickering behind the grotesque image as her plan kicked off perfectly.
"Ahh! The amount of time it took to actually find a corrupted corpse! They don't die, I'm telling ya, if it wasn't for that extremely attractive fish-man, I wouldn't have gotten anywhere!" Romania flaunted her long blonde hair with her opposite hand, doing everything in her power to yawn as many times as possible.
"I understand what you brought... But who says that it would influence their decision... How can you provide us any more sanctuary than the previously stated idea?" Zephyr asked, his eyes showing regret in actually considering this.
Helena shook her head.
"No. It's completely reckless." She instantly voted against this, causing a new face to step up at the table.
"I disagree... I think her plan has its merits... After all, if Omen himself wants to intrude on human affairs... I think that's completely fair that some humans would seek to gain advantages over others." Dorian suggested, holding two dice between his held out fingers.
"These advantages... Dorian! Do you listen to anything!?" Zephyr boomed, slamming his fist atop the table.
"Who cares? Let the humans find new ways to get stronger... And if that means Chase breaks all of his seals in one night... Why doesn't he just kill the Greater Gods? Was that not the whole point of all of this!?" Dorian shrugged, tossing his dice onto the table while a deafening silence rang out among the Devils...
...
Michael gasped for air, feeling a terrible energy begin to radiate nearby... Or...
'No that's impossible.' He didn't dare turn his head just in case, using the ice to launch himself into the hole made so graciously by Azure.
The first thing he spotted, was two guards in the depths of a game of cards...
At the same time, both Gabriel and Michael's fist drove into the back of each guards' head, and knocking them out with ease.
"Well... That couldn't have been any easier..." Gabriel's said only seconds after his eyes lifted off the guards and onto the well outgoing place they were looking for.
"A little too easy." Michael nodded, stepping onto the lifted platform and yanking the vibrantly glowing trident riddled in gems Michael and Gabriel had never even heard of, let alone seen before-From its chains, and gazing down at it in his hand with curiosity...
"You gotta feel this thing..." Michael almost dropped the trident as if in a trance, unable to even remember having held it...
"It's not ethereal...?" Gabriel rubbed his eyes, watching in panic as the trident began to sink through the ships floor.
"Get it!" Michael yelled, stomping open the floor of the flooding ship as twice as much water began to rush in.
...
"This feeling!" Hextra laughed childishly at the dark sky above... But before them... A city laid waste in flames presented itself... And countless crimson strings reaching over the kingdom... All led to them...
"Skylar Dear, there are still some survivors in the Eastern district... Could you...?" Star asked, making a killing motion with her thumb along her neck...
What was once Skylar... Was now donned in a grotesque black armor with bandages covering his face between the gaps in his new mask...
He silently turned his back, heading towards the direction she told him.
The fourth member... Was giggling to himself while he fiddled with all of his strings... He was... As Star put it... A deeply troubled man...
She couldn't help but look down on trash such as that.
Hextra on the other hand, couldn't help but stare at the Ocean on the opposite side of the continent... Where something "Wonderful" Was going to happen... Or at least as she put it...
...
Chase and Unity now sat inside of a small dug out cave in the base of the fractured mountain, and to say that they would be out of commission for a while would be an understatement...
Or at least that would be the case...
"I'm sorry... But you two would have to stay here..." Luke agreed with Luna and Volaris's insistent demands...
Chase sighed, while Equan had already departed for one of the barracks within the tunnel.
"I get it. None of us are in the state to fight... But we can still use healing items... You and Equan have completely drained every bit of energy your bodies can create..." Kaylynn tried to show that she understood. When in reality this was a really foolish idea...
Chase felt that he could still fight no matter his injuries, as he had shown time and time again before... Especially in a situation as dire as this...
Why had the group decided to even take the tip up on their information... And why now did the group decide to play hero in unison...
Something was off about this... But Chase's pride refused to let him say anything. Almost tempting his own allies to make this mistake.
Before the whole of the group could leave... Hans leaned into Chase... And began to whisper.
"Your only chance." Was all he said before leaving bruised and battered with the rest of the group towards Seh Jenah... Where they planned to help an anonymous person prevent a public execution in the heart of the city...
Gemini tapped Chase on the soldier.
"Now that they are gone, do you think we should talk strategy?" He asked, holding out a bunch of strange contraptions.
"So I'm not losing my mind?" He asked his friend.
"No, I'm not entirely sure why splitting up was the best idea after our outstanding victory last night. Although this time they won't have Jack, you, Rayan, Equan, or myself... Not that the last part mattered all that much-"
Chase smacked Gemini in the back of the head, yanking one of the contraptions from his hand and studying it intently.
"What does it do?" He asked, watching the small disc as it beeped rhythmically in his hand.
"It's a landmine."
Chase cocked an eyebrow, turning his gaze towards the field outside of the safehouse.
"How many you got?" He asked with a slight grin.
