Chapter 849 - Chapter 846

Chapter 846

"If things stay as they are, then yes. However, once we reach the Dark Continent, stepping into an S-rank Nen user might actually be easier than on the human side. After all, that land holds far more miraculous resources."

A glimmer of anticipation surfaced in Morena's eyes. "Ron, how about I be your guide? Since you want to observe Kakin, what aspects are you planning to look at?"

"You have time, Morena?"

"I can push aside some of the Heil-Ly Family's work," she said, shrugging. "The Black Whale voyage has long since begun. The Heil-Ly Family has been preparing for it for quite a while, and now most of the groundwork is already in place."

"I can hand off responsibilities to Baise. If something comes up that she truly can't decide, she can just contact me remotely and I'll handle it. Besides…"

Morena paused, looking toward the direction of the Kakin royal palace.

"Whether it's the Heil-Ly Family or the Kakin royal house, what do they really have to do with me?"

As a second-tier player in the succession war, Morena held no real attachment to Kakin.

"Morena, I mean… if your changed behaviour gets discovered, wouldn't there be consequences?"

She shook her head. "The royals don't care that much—especially my lofty father. The current Heil-Ly Family is just loosely cooperating with Tserriednich."

Ron recalled that name—Tserriednich, the Fourth Prince of Kakin. A sadist who collected many Scarlet Eyes from the Kurta Clan, including an entire Kurta head.

Based on previous intel, there had been two main forces behind the attack on the Kurta Clan. One from Minpo, and the other from Kakin. If Kakin was involved, Tserriednich was likely the link.

Both Minpo and Kakin had been drawn in by Sheila. On top of that, Tserriednich developed an intense distrust of women as he grew up, reportedly because he was once deceived by a cruel woman. In that case, Sheila was very likely the one responsible.

Perverts often possess overwhelming talent—Hisoka was a perfect example. So was Tserriednich. But Ron had no need to fear him.

Not only was Ron's natural talent at least on par with his, but in terms of the path of Nen mastery and the Sequence system, Ron was already far beyond him. Even with the Egg of the King ritual, there was no way Tserriednich could catch up in a short time.

"Then I'll leave it to you, Morena."

Ron said, "My approach is simple—I want to find the most distinctive things that represent Kakin."

"Kakin's specialties? Things that symbolize it?"

"Exactly. Whether it's cities, events, or something else, anything is fine."

"Got it," Morena nodded. "Then I understand."

Ron and Morena began their "tour," visiting Kakin's landmark buildings, sampling local cuisine. Around them, starlike lights flickered—drawn to the crystal ball, they drifted inside.

Ron deliberately slowed his pace.

With Morena away from the Heil-Ly Family, Baise sat beside the empty chair she usually occupied, reviewing the documents submitted below. The straightforward ones, she handled herself. For those she couldn't resolve, she grouped them together and forwarded them to Morena.

Meanwhile, a document reached the King of Kakin.

Nasubi raised an eyebrow as he read the contents.

"Ron. A member of the Zoldyck family. His relationship with Morena seems very close—close enough that she's willing to put aside her duties for him. That's not just familiarity."

"They say he already possesses strength above A-rank."

"A-rank and above… isn't that just S-rank?"

"An S-rank at that age really is rare. It reminds me of my younger days."

"A union between Zoldyck and Kakin bloodlines… I wonder what kind of child that would produce."

"Pity he didn't arrive a bit earlier."

"With the succession war about to begin, I have to focus the majority of my attention here."

He signaled to one of his subordinates.

"Your Majesty?"

"Test him. I want to see how strong Ron really is. But make sure it doesn't trace back to me. Blame it on one of the princes."

A knowing look spread across Nasubi's face. The man below him froze briefly but quickly composed himself. He was well aware of the king's style—committing underhanded acts as a father and then shifting the blame onto his own sons. In this world, probably only Nasubi could act this way without hesitation.

"Yes, Your Majesty. Understood."

.

A restaurant on the upper floor of a high-rise building. The dining table was by the window, with clear glass revealing the scenery outside.

Kakin's landscape was unique—ancient architecture mixed with modern family structures. The two collided, creating a sense of disorientation in space and time.

Ron glanced at the crystal ball before him. The progress had reached 12%.

Morena said, "Aside from the royal palace, we've basically seen everything in the city. Ron, have you drawn any inspiration?"

"Some, but not enough."

"Then let's head to another city tonight. That one has a long history—it was built many, many years ago."

"Alright. That sounds like a good place."

After dinner, Morena made a call. Soon, a car pulled up beneath the building. It was a long-distance travel vehicle, already prepped with fuel and maintenance.

Morena approached the driver's seat.

"I'll drive," Ron offered.

"Sure," Morena said after a brief hesitation, heading to the passenger seat.

Ron sat in the driver's seat, but didn't start the engine right away. Sitting still, he could clearly sense an unusual presence. Faint, but unmistakable.

A card appeared in Ron's hand—the Rat card from the Zodiac set.

"Divination."

The card vanished. In its place, a line of text appeared before him.

Morena glanced over curiously. "Ron, what's that?"

He waved it away, and the text disappeared.

"Seems like someone's watching us. We might have a little trouble ahead."

Morena froze for a moment. "Here? Someone's watching us?"

But she quickly calmed down.

"Is it dangerous?"
