Chapter 720 - Chapter 717

This was the gap between ordinary people and Nen users.

Among ordinary people, Battera's wealth was already at the absolute pinnacle. Yet even with all that wealth, the only ones who genuinely wanted to work for him were Tsezguerra and the members of his team. Everyone else had their own reasons.

Gon was here to find Ging Freecss and experience the game his father had created.

Killua had come along to accompany Gon.

The Bombers had their own cards they wanted to obtain.

Biscuit was here to teach Gon and Killua.

Ron had no interest in Battera's commission at all. He had entered Greed Island solely to absorb traits and study the island in order to make improvements to his Nen construct, the Ark.

"Leave."

Ron pulled out a Spell Card. The next instant, a surge of aura wrapped around his body. When he reappeared, he was already back in the study of Ruco's and Sally's dojo.

Ron didn't open the door to exit. Instead, he entered Sumas's space directly.

A crystal orb, visible only to Ron, floated before him. The progress bar had already reached one hundred percent.

Ron closed his eyes. "Begin."

In the next moment, he felt his aura rushing into the crystal orb at incredible speed. The scene unfolding was identical to before: the orb's color began to shift.

Boom!

The sound exploded in Ron's mind. Immediately, he felt as if his consciousness were pulled into another space. Illusory forms began to appear in his vision.

A mammoth, buried deep in a graveyard, its surroundings radiating a desolate aura.

A white dragon spiraling through the skies, looking down upon the world.

A knight clad in ornate armor.

A skeleton exuding an eerie, terrifying presence.

A human figure, shrouded completely in robes.

A cockroach walking upright.

One by one, these figures entered the crystal orb.

Crash!

Another explosive sound rang out. Ron felt his consciousness being rapidly drawn back.

Before long, he opened his eyes. With a thought, a card appeared in his hand.

Blue-Eyes White Dragon.

Ron's brows lifted slightly. He hadn't expected that.

In the world of Duel Monsters, the Blue-Eyes White Dragon was an immensely powerful card, known for its overwhelming attack strength.

Based on Ron's expectations, Greed Island wasn't particularly high in difficulty.

During the Hunter Exam, Netero had at least been present. When Ron's Observer had absorbed traits, it had enveloped Netero himself.

On Greed Island, Ging Freecss had left years ago, and only the other members remained. By that logic, the traits absorbed from Greed Island shouldn't produce anything too powerful.

"But it's clear Greed Island wasn't weak."

"That's why the Blue-Eyes White Dragon comes with heavy restrictions if I want to use it."

"I traded off restrictions and vows for its strength."

Ron looked at the card in his hand. As long as he infused enough aura into it, the Blue-Eyes White Dragon could be materialized.

He channeled aura into the card. A vast amount of energy was drained. When half his aura had been consumed, the card transformed into a stream of light. A massive figure emerged before Ron—it was the Blue-Eyes White Dragon.

"The aura cost is enormous."

"It's much greater than what it takes to summon Natsu or Uchiha Sasuke."

"But the Blue-Eyes White Dragon's aura is also far more powerful than theirs."

"Just one of them already matches Oster's strongest form."

"If I continued fighting with it, the drain on my aura would be severe."

"Still, compared to full conjuration, the cost is less."

"But if I use the Blue-Eyes White Dragon, I can't bring out too many other Nen beasts to fight at the same time."

"And this dragon has another limitation—it can only be summoned once a month."

"After use, there's a cooldown of thirty days."

With a thought, Ron dismissed the Blue-Eyes White Dragon. It vanished and returned to card form in his hand.

Unlike before, the card was now gray. Ron didn't mind.

A weak Nen beast with no restrictions wasn't worth nearly as much as a powerful one with conditions.

Some Nen users feared vows and restrictions. Ron didn't. He had always been open-minded about them. Restrictions and vows were an essential part of a Nen user's growth. Without them, a Nen user's potential and ceiling would remain low.

Those who feared restrictions and vows were usually the ones who couldn't control themselves. They were afraid that once they tasted the power such vows provided, they wouldn't be able to stop.

.....But even so, he couldn't help but feel conflicted. Deep down, he had been hoping for something different; specifically, he was hoping for something that could help him create more Divine Characters. If he had received that, his repertoire would have expanded significantly, allowing him to respond to more complex situations. Just imagine creating a unique Divine Character tailored to every special circumstance.

Still, he knew that, logically, the card had come at the perfect time, especially for the upcoming events. As things stood, he didn't yet possess a single-target powerful offensive method capable of destroying everything in its path.

Ron exited Sumas's space.

"Captain."

As soon as he emerged, Nina and the others turned to look at him. Ron gave a slight nod.

"Next, we'll be heading to Begrossé."

He hadn't yet absorbed the traits of Begrossé. Moreover, the second piece of the Dark Sonata was located there. That alone guaranteed that Ron would be going.

As for the Chimera Ant arc, it still needed time. Ron wasn't in a rush to absorb their traits just yet.

In fact, he had a growing suspicion about the Chimera Ants.

He didn't believe they were an accident. Rather, he suspected they had been intentionally designed by humans.

In the United States of Sahelta, the laboratory he'd investigated had already provided partial evidence. He had also obtained some information directly from Oster.

That lab's direction aligned more and more with the origin of the Chimera Ants described in the original story.

"Yes, Captain!"

Ron's group boarded a blimp en route to Begrossé.

While in flight, Ron brought Ponzu alone into Sumas's space. Once inside, he retrieved a vial of medicine.

"Captain, what is this?"

"This is a drug I developed based on Oster's research," Ron said. "The reason Oster targeted your village was actually to create this."

"Once you take it, your strength will increase dramatically."

"In addition, you'll have a real chance of reaching S-Class."

Ponzu's pupils contracted.

"S-Class?"

She had been a Nen user long enough to understand exactly what that meant. Even Oster wasn't considered S-Class. Hisoka and Chrollo—formidable as they were—hadn't reached that tier either.

Even Ron himself had yet to break through to S-Class.

And yet, she now had a chance?
