It had been a few days since Izuku and Tenno had that revelation about Quirks and Martial Arts, Izuku was walking home after another session of training his awareness on the beach, within these few days his hearing has advanced by leaps and bounds, especially after the experience gained during the fight in the alley, but it also highlighted some issues forcing Tenno to change his training regime.

Instead of taking out a single piece of trash from a pile without disturbing it, Izuku had to map out the trash mounds through sound, scan every item within from smallest to largest and pull two items out all at once, without making it all fall apart. Tenno told him that while he was a natural at hyper focusing his awareness on a single target, his awareness of multiple targets and his surroundings was abysmal, that being one of the main reasons why the second man from that alley got away without Izuku noticing anything.

Due to that, even while walking home tired after grueling work on the beach, Izuku wasn't done training, Tenno forced him to expand his awareness around him and keep track of all the civilians, vehicles and animals around him and alongside that, he told Izuku to write down any snippets of conversation that he hears.

Absolutely overworked and tired to the bone, Izuku was barely holding on and keeping up with Tenno's demands, wondering why he would need to keep awareness of this many things when heroes mostly fought singular villains, when suddenly his arm shot straight out to the side, lurching from a sudden impact a startled yelp and a heavy thud cut through the crowd's murmur.

Izuku was stunned, not from the impact but by what had transpired, there laying on the ground next to him was a woman wearing a balaclava, groaning and clutching a purse.

Now the realization struck him, harder than the thief.

Going back to his thoughts Izuku realized that he'd heard cries of help and mentions of a thief alongside the hurried footsteps thanks to his trained hearing, without even consciously being aware of it, he had positioned himself in the thief's path and stopped them.

'Now you realise it,' Tenno told him, 'awareness will not only help you avoid trouble but also find it, after all, you wish to be a hero and heroes are known for finding trouble.

The more things you are aware of during every day life, the more likely you are to find someone in need of your help.

The multitasking capability gained and enhanced through this training will grant you the ability to deal with the overflowing information, helping you avoid getting overwhelmed during combat if the enemy has a quirk or equipment meant to hinder your senses.'

Izuku couldn't help but agree with that statement, if he were to face a villain with a quirk similar the villain TerrorBoom in Hokkaido who was defeated by the current number nine pro hero Yoroi Musha. TerrorBoom possessed a quirk that let him produce balls of energy that he could detonate at any time he wished, the detonations causing a bright flash and a piercing noise that made anyone nearby temporarily blind, deaf and nauseous. Yoroi Musha had used his helmet to block the effects and defeat the rowdy villain but while Izuku also had similar equipment, his was meant for training and not combat, if he were to face such a villain even after accurately analyzing the quirk he'd still be at its mercy if he was unable to block out the sound and flash from stunning him, and if that wasn't enough he could also scan his surroundings for anything usable to assist thanks to his trained senses and-

'Okay enough of that, save it for later. Now stop standing there looking like a deer in headlights and move!' Realising that Izuku stood there with a stunned look on his face while the thief still groaned on the ground, he got so lost in his thoughts that he forgot all about what lead to the discussion.

'Yes sir!' Izuku swiftly skedaddled away while hurried footsteps approached the crime scene, ignoring the stares of the crowd Izuku continued on his path to home though with some extra speed, he didn't want to get in trouble with the authorities again. Though even the thought of getting into trouble couldn't hinder the pep in his step, after all he had stopped a crime and this time he wasn't even hurt.

-----

Resting at home eating dinner with his mother, Izuku's thoughts were going in circles.

"Is everything all right Izuku, you look troubled, did you not like the food?" Obviously distracted enough that his mother started worrying, startling Izuku out of his head, he hurried to reassure her that the food was great and that he was merely thinking about school.

While that was good enough for his mother, his ever present teacher was particularly good at knowing what he was thinking about.

'That's not the full truth and we both know it, now spill the beans kid.'

Finally Izuku replied to him when his mother was done fussing, that he was thinking about all the times he stopped a crime or helped a criminal get arrested, even though it had happened extremely few times, he still felt a rush at what he did, but he also knows that those actions are wrong and a crime in an of itself, even though he helped arrest multiple criminals, he himself had become a criminal, he had even lied to the police about his involvement in the alley.

But, but he couldn't help but feel happy that he interfered, because this was what he had been looking for his whole life, to stop crime, to help people, to be a hero(x), so maybe, maybe, he could take a longer way home from the beach to find more people to help?

'Izuku, your plan is to go to UA, no?'

'Yes sensei!'

'Then what do you think happens when vigilantism, interfering with law enforcement or any other crime gets stamped on your record? Your chances of entering a hero school or getting a decent job plummet exponentially,'

'I-uh, y-you are right sensei, I just got way over my head, I'll-'

'I'm not done talking, how long ago did hero schools start accepting quirkless students? About an year ago, and within that year how many quirkless kids did you see in the hero course during the sports festival? Rhetorical question, we both know the answer is none.'

'I know it sucks but you gotta be honest with yourself, your or any other quirkless kid's chance of being accepted in a hero school is extremely slim' Izuku already knew the statistics, he religiously researched everything he could the moment the changes were made regarding quirkless students in hero schools, but hearing it from his sensei stung. 'But it isn't zero. So you shouldn't just give up on going to UA, with my training they will be genuinely stupid to deny you a chance, but if they still do, you need to understand that being an actual hero doesn't require a license or a fancy costume, out there in the multiverse, being a hero isn't a job they can sign up for with a license, hazard pay and paperwork. Being a hero is self sacrifice, a purpose that they themselves choose out of desire to do good for others, even if it means getting labeled as a criminal, a menace, a vigilante by the same people they choose to help. Even in this world there are vigilantes that for one reason or another didn't get accepted into a hero school or never tried for one and still choose to help people as vigilantes.

So kid, if you truly wish to help people at the risk of you losing your chance of attending your dream school and gaining a pro hero license or in worse cases arrested or killed, then I'll help you however I can so that you may step on this path as prepared as anyone can be, because I swear this, I will not fail my student, no matter the path you take I will make sure that you will succeed.' Tenno's speech was a reality check that Izuku severely needed, he didn't fully want to admit to himself what he was giving up on and risks he was taking if he were to take the path he wanted.

Thankfully he had walked to his room when Tenno started his speech because he had no hope of hiding the waterfall of tears from his mother.

After Izuku calmed down, Tenno had him get back to training while researching everything about vigilantes and the laws regarding them, If he wanted to help people at all costs he was gonna do it right.

He also accepted to change Izuku's route so that he would be exploring a lot more of the city during the downtime between training.

Kai Chisaki sat in his office listening to Rappa blabber about a "wild kid with scary eyes", the recently freed yakuza was still suffering from a concussion and getting anything coherent out of him would be a fools errand, he could've used overhaul to get rid of the concussion but that would've needed to use a past template of the man he had, sadly that template was built right before he was sent out to get the rat which still hasn't been caught, and if it were to be used, his memories of what happened within the alley would be as good as gone.

Sighing, Kai dismissed Rappa.

It seems getting viable information will be delayed, but that isn't such a big deal as he can focus on his experiments in the meantime.

His extended presence should put a stop to Eri's escape attempts.

If only getting some competent help wasn't as hard.
