The woman was rather unfriendly. Or perhaps she simply didn't want to share any information with William. Either way, he sat at the table with her nonetheless.
"We'll be living together here at the academy for a while, so I think it's important we have a good relationship. Otherwise, things will get boring. Don't you agree?" William said.
She laughed.
"Are you hitting on me? Don't worry, we won't see each other much, so there's no reason for this 'great relationship' you're talking about."
Her lunch was nearly finished. She stood up from the table and said, "I still need to buy a few things in town. So, if you'll excuse me."
She left the payment and walked away without another word. William was perplexed. He had thought he might be able to extract some information from her, but apparently she wasn't someone easy to deal with.
