Chapter 9 - Monster reborn

The ones I hoped wouldn't be there were right in front of me, pretending to care. I couldn't take it anymore—it made me sick just looking at them, and I wasn't going to pretend everything was fine.

"Enough!" I shouted, annoyed and angry that they even dared ask me to return to their family house. "Who the hell do you think you are? Do you think this is the Park house? Who gave you the right to come to my house and act like you have the final say? Do you think just because I'm married to Jungwoo you all get to tell me what to do? Well, let me tell you something: it all ends now. No one tells me what to do or when to do it. I'm Kim Hana, and I go by my own rules—so please leave my house before I lose my cool. And also, tell that tweak of a son of yours to expect a call from my lawyers soon. I want a divorce, and I'm taking full custody of my babies. Underline that—my babies. Not his, not yours, just mine and mine alone. Now, please show yourselves out."

I let out everything that was eating me from within. I was done always letting them control me. Done trying to be the "good" daughter-in-law of the Parks. The only reason I tolerated it all was because of my dad, but now that he told me to stop, they were all going to find out why no one dares mess with me. They were going to find out why I'm called Lucifer in reincarnation—I was going to bring hell into their lives.

After they left, I got a call from Jiyeon apologizing for not visiting me the day I came back. I told her not to worry—I understood. It had been three days since I kicked out the Parks and served Jungwoo with divorce papers. Today, I was holding a media conference to announce my divorce and to anoint my brother as president of the company, since I was going back to being a doctor. If I was going to be a mother, I had to be the best mother the world could ever ask for.

It was time for the conference to begin, so Oppa and I made our way to the front.

"Greetings. I hope we all know why we are here. Today, I, Kim Hana, announce my divorce from Park Jungwoo, president of Park Constructions, and hereby anoint Kim Youngho as president of YM Medicals and Pharmaceuticals. With that, I'd like to call upon him to say a few words."

I was about to call Youngho when someone shouted my name.

"Mrs. Hana, is it true you're divorcing Jungwoo because he doesn't love you, just like his ex-wife? And that's why you proposed divorce and are taking full custody of the twins?" he said pridefully, as if he'd pinned me down with his words.

"What is your name?" I asked, pointing at him.

"My name is Choi Si-woo, ma'am," he smiled, which annoyed me.

"You're Choi Si-woo of Western Moon Media?" I asked to confirm.

"Yes, ma'am, that's me," he replied with a grin.

"The very same Si-woo who slept with his boss's wife and daughter at the same time? What happened—cat got your tongue? Can't talk anymore?"

"Well, let me tell you something. I have all the spicy, juicy dirt on everyone here. And yes, I did my homework on every one of you—I bet you don't want your secrets out in the world. So don't cross me, because I'm not someone you want as an enemy. Talk all you want about me, but the moment you involve my family or my babies, hell will break loose and the graveyard will be overpopulated."

"No, that's not a threat—it's a friendly warning. But it can become a threat if you want."

With that, I stepped down and let my brother take the stage. I expected the press to pry into his private life, but I guess my warning kept them in line.

The conference ended, and we went to lunch with Jiyeon at Moonlight Restaurant—the best in the Republic of Korea. It serves Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, and even Western food. It's our favorite spot; we'd come here after my prenatal checkups when I was pregnant.

We arrived and headed to our usual table. Jiyeon screamed the moment she saw us approaching.

She was so happy she ran toward me and jumped into my arms.

"Hana, I missed you so much! I thought I was going to have to give birth without you—you really scared me!" she said, tears in her eyes.

"There's no way in hell I was going to die before seeing your cute baby. I'm the only one who will be godmother to your children, got that?" I said, making sure she understood. We both laughed as we sat down to lunch.
