Sunday. December 26th
A Day later
Despite being winter and the northern sphere of the world, the Ember Blossom bobbed against gentle and warm azure waves. The morning was so calm. A gentle breeze with few clouds that were wispy and stringy in the air.
Kirk sat on a seat in front of Leroy Playing a game. Dezzi with both of them as well as Raven also played. It was a simple board game of moving pieces and rolling dice with a few other attributes to make the game appealing
Raven wore a lace corset and a cropped leather jacket with shorts that were high waisted with fishnets and simple purple sneakers.
Kirk wore a tank top with a loose and baggy floral shirt over it with two of the middle buttons done, he also wore short shorts and long socks with simple sneakers that wrapped around the ankle. He even had a bit of eyeliner around his eyes that was subtle but gave a bit of flair
Leroy on the other hand wore a dark blue near black floral shirt that was very baggy. It had what looked to be a rising sun as a repeating pattern. Though it couldve also been a setting sun as well. He also of course wore his red sash around his waist. Baggy shorts and for once a pair of sneakers as well. He also wore a simple straw hat on his head.
Jeanne wore a typical outfit. Comfortable and functional. A loose jacket with a striped shirt underneath in yellow and white. Baggy jeans to keep her humid. She was in her sketchbook sketching away as she smoked cigarette after cigarette in a daze of creativity.
Kale was in a simple low V orange shirt and torn jeans. Hair in a bun.
Noir was, as always, fancy with his dress. He wore a simple linen shirt tucked into a pair of beige dress pants and a brown leather buckled belt. The sleeves of his white linen shirt were rolled up tight around his elbows. A dressy pair of slips ons to finish it off. He wore the ring of the Rose Arbor, and had his hair in a comfortable curtains style while bits of his other hair was slicked back
Eddie was simple. He wore his jacket and a pair of shorts. A wide brimmed breathable trilby on his head.
Dezzi was in a simple Tee with a playful design on the front of a moon and a rabbit in front of it. A pair of shorts and also sneakers.
Calliope was doing maintenance on her prosthetics. Wearing folded up jean shorts, calf high socks, skater shoes, and a dark pink baggy tee that hung at her calves and almost totally covered her shorts
Leroy rolled the dice. And landed on a good number. An excited smile coming over his face as he leaned forward and moved the piece forward only for Raven to call out and stop him "Looks like were here!"
"Aww man! But we were so close to finishing it!" Leroy said with a whine. "Don't be a baby." Kirk said getting up. Leroy rolled his eyes and pushed up from the table and rushed over to the bow to look over the edge and see the island coming over the horizon and quickly approaching
"Woah…" Leroy said with a open mouth as he held onto his Straw Hat as the wind picked up.
The island was large. It took up a portion of the middle of the Horizon. It was a…Jungle. An entire floating jungle with trees that went high up into the air that were like mountains even from a distance. They had to be kilometers tall. Though utterly dwarfed by the Red Line which wasn't visible as it was over the curve of the Horizon.
The leaves were bright lush green. Huge thick vines and thick branches. It made sense why Jers said that Sabaody was a giant floating forest. Roots going all the way down to the sea floor serving as an anchor as it floats around in a circle extremely slowly
The Ember Blossom slowly floats up through the bay. Dozens and Dozens of Ships in the bay around the island.
Kirk led the ship through an opening. The Jungle had messes of Jungle Trees together in angled roots with thick amounts of grass on top of it making it look like land masses. There was space between each of these canopies. Allowing for the sea to flow between serving as canals.
On one of the islands next to them it suddenly started to rain! An entire rain shower coming down and pelting the grove next to them in water. "What the….Its coming from the trees!"
Kirk said with a point. Up above there were no clouds! Raven then spoke and correctly assumed. The trees collect moisture, and due to their size it acts almost like an avalanche but with water.
Luckily being winter. The temperature was moderate and comfortable. Though just a tad hot but out of the sun it was very comfortable.
"I wonder if there's anywhere to dock…" And as if on cue a voice above of a man with summer clothes and a sun hat yelled down "If you're looking for port! There's one over at Stand 4!"
"Stand 4?" Leroy yelled up. "Yeah! Each of these groupings of trees are called stands! The root bundles without trees are called swales! Look up!" The man pointed and the branches and vines that seemed to connect every tree together had signs on them that pointed from place to place
The one above the man on the main tree behind him was a large square sign embedded into the wood and in a circle it said the number '10'. It could've been easier to paint it on the tree. But it made it look more pleasing by having it on an actual structure.
"Thank you!" Leroy waved up "I'd be careful you lot! Theres pirates abound! Feheaha! But I'm sure you know that. Best get a map if you know where you're headed!"
"No! We were told something about getting our ship coated?" Leroy yelled back up to the man "Ah! Well theres a few places but they're all pretty busy…Surcoats the most popular…" He rolled his eyes "But though there is another guy. If ya really wanna be desperate about it."
"Whose that?"
"Zeke! Old man Zeke! He's a bit crazy though. But he's a jack of all trades. He's over near the Understory parts, the place where trees havent been cleared or are left untouched due to disturbances from surrounding Stands. His is over by the lawless zone. Stand 13."
