Chapter 501 - Shieling Town

"But we can't do that" Leroy said with a sigh "Too many innocent people live here. And I don't think it's the best Idea to Attack a town right below where the very peak of the Political Power of the Entire World Sits." Leroy said as he looked up at the Red Line that loomed like a god itself over the crew

"Well. We should probably finish up looking over this place. I for one can say my Curiosity has been satisfied. Forever." Kirk said folding his arms over his chest and looking to the side with a bit of distress

"Yeah. I don't wanna spend any more time on this island than I have to now…If anyone wants to go back to the ship, you can…" Leroy offered. But none of them took the opportunity.

The signs advertised all sorts of things as the Crew Walked through the City, heading towards the Red Line. From things such as 'Toba Tobacco' to 'Cobblepots Cobblers'.

But one sign caught his eye. 'Other Only Housing'. He didn't even ask as he began to walk down the path. The houses were all nice before suddenly stopping all together and the City suddenly cutting off and ending. Only a few smaller storage structures tapering out. It was almost 500 meters without structures

There was Concrete that flattened the land with small 'Gardens' that were small structures of stone that held a bit of dirt and large Trees. Giving the Baren Building-less landscape something other than nothing. It had about as much thought put into it that someone would if they were thinking 'Well I have to make it look nice so its not a blemish on the island'. So instead they made a 'Park' in the loosest sense of the word.

Though, in Fairness, it looked pleasant if it were anywhere else. But that pleasantness stopped as a they approached a Wall that was about 4 meters tall that wrapped around the whole park. With a wrought iron black gateat the end in front of them. Two signs on each side. 'Other Only' 'Other Housing'

Two Marines stood in front of it. Rifles in their hands and not even registering them as the Crew Approached. One of the two spoke. "Careful. I wouldn't recommend looking. You may sully your eyes."

The Marines wore special uniforms unique to Judice. They looked like the typical, but then also had gold stripes in their blue sections

"You okay with us looking?" Leroy asked, Feigning ignorance "Tch, all we're supposed to do is keep them in." The other then spoke "I feel pretty bad for em. If Fishman island never signed that Peace Treaty, stuff like this wouldn't need to be made and they could've just stayed where they came from."

The Crew then Approached the gate and gazed inside. There was a small hill that went down. It had a metal fence over the top as covering and opened up at the bottom.

Leroy let out a Sigh, and suddenly both of the Marines Slumped to the Ground. Having moved faster than they could blink. It took a simple tug and the Gates were off the hinges.

The Stairs themselves were worse for wear. Immediately it was obvious that anything beyond the gates was not the concern in terms of infrastructure.

As they reached the end of the stairs and the hill. Leroy stretched his neck in a Gum Gum Periscope to look from side to side. There was marines at certain points in the very compact city block. Not even a Kilometer around but still there were many buildings

It was…A Shanty town. Many building looked professionally made. One tall building in the middle that was under 20 stories. But then there was the buildings around it that were makeshift. Some were tents of Cloth, some of stacked crates, then there were other smaller buildings around that were things like a small market store, a theater, washing building, and what seemed like a clubhouse for communal gatherings. Then at one of the Far walls was a Altar that held a place of worship for Celestial Dragons. Which looked very unused

Clothes lines connected buildings together, and one thick cable came from the ground and up a pole and into the main apartment building that then went out from there into the other buildings. Providing electricity. An utter godsend in some islands, but on Judice it was everywhere. And those on it got so used to it that they assumed it to be the bare minimum and saw it as nothing more than tossing scraps to the Minorities in the Area.

Finally, the City block was surrounded by a single road that served as a border. All around were Marines standing, and a few riding horse carriages to keep constant watch over those within.

Within the single second that he saw all of this. Leroy saw that there was a squad of marines breaking into a house.

Neck snapping back, he began moving…

"Noir, move quick and Take out the Marines around the Perimeter. Raven you hold 'em down. I'll handle those."

With a blur of speed Leroy appeared above one of the Marines in Blue and Gold, White Uniform and Slammed a fist into his head, then he landed, kicked the head of one in a crescent, a hook to another, a back kick to the second to last and then a sturdy head butt to the last.

The person that was in the middle of Being pulled out was hecaton…She was tall and had 12 arms, one on each shoulder, one on the middle of her ribs on each side, two on her shoulder blades on each side, and two on each side of her lower back.

"Whats your name ma'am." Leroy said as he heard all at once the sounds of bodies falling. He had to be quick about this because if he was found out while on this island. He knew for a fact that he could have the entire Navy on his ass.

"I'm Gloriaka. Th-Thank you…Wait. You're– Normal!" She said as she stood up to her 6'10 stature. "What're you doing in here? You'll get us in trouble…"

"Don't worry. I'll be gone soon. I just…I just could stand seeing what was going on in here…And I had to see it for myself…Could you…Do me a Favor and Help me? I need to know I can trust you…" Leroy asked with a plead in his eyes.

"I…I owe you. So yes whatever it is you need." She said with a slight nod.

"Here. Hand this out. Please. I can't being on this island anymore. So I need to do something…" He handed her a few stacks of Berry. Kirk always carried a lot of cash on him due to his shopping Habits. "I'm going to go see who else I can help."

She nodded and moved. Two hands on each of her hips as she nodded confidently. She was a handywoman by trade, force to be one, so she'd be quick in doing this.

The crew then spread out and honestly just did what they could. They weren't even there for an hour to be safe. But even then it gave them a horrid picture of their quality of life. Many of the Fishmen that were older wore Gillers on Medium setting as a form of 'Punishment' for 'Breaking the Law'. As in accidentally going into a Human only building. Or 'Causing a Ruckus'

Said they were apart of the Islands 'Tris Laws'. Which were laws that some World Government Affiliated Islands had that enforced separation of Human and Other to some degree. Some only used it for separate housing, some used it to discourage Fishmen. Some only for certain minorities, but Judice was the place that Had it Probably the Strictest of All Islands.

The crew all did something for the People there. Even in a rush. Noir wrote down at blinding speeds cheap and hearty recipes that would feed many and could be adjusted in half a dozen ways to keep from getting bland.

Calliope used her powers along with Raven to reorganize and rebuild parts to give the block proper structures. Leroy undid any and all Gillers and Threw them into the fire as crumpled balls of shredded metal. Kirk talked to many of them with his gills exposed, Jeanne did some handiwork and maintenance, Dezzi attended medically and did what Noir did but in the medical sense. Kale followed Leroy and helped, Eddie lifted many of their spirits with a few stories from over 100 years ago.

By the end. They knew how to get out of there, and swiftly. A look over the wall said that no marines were watching the waters (After years of having done so and now becoming 'lax') So, with a punch to the wall, Leroy made them an exit to take under the cover of night.

"Stay Safe…I think…I think maybe…A few Islands can help you…I uh…Don't know about them…But I think the Milita could help you too…" Leroy said as he saw off Gloriaka.

Calliope fixed the Gate. Leaving the people there none the wiser from the outside.
